PlayerSells Affiliate Program: How Referral Commissions Work
The PlayerSells affiliate program pays 25% to 35% of the platform fee on every order your referrals complete. See the math, tiers and payout rules.
The PlayerSells affiliate program pays you 25% to 35% of the platform fee on every order that someone you referred completes. It does not matter whether your referral is the buyer or the seller, and it does not expire. Sign up, copy your link from the Earn Money page, share it, and the commission lands in your wallet balance when the order settles.
That is the short version. The part worth understanding before you put your name behind a link is the math, because the commission is calculated on the fee, not on the sale price. This guide walks through exactly what that means, with numbers you can check against the published fee table and the live affiliate program page.
What is the PlayerSells affiliate program?
The PlayerSells affiliate program (also called the referral program, and labeled Earn Money in your dashboard) is a lifetime revenue share on the fees PlayerSells charges. Every account has a referral link from the day it is created. There is no application, no minimum audience, and no approval queue.
PlayerSells is an escrow marketplace for established social media accounts, CS2 and Rust skins, and promotion services. Every order runs through escrow, and when the buyer confirms delivery the platform books its fee. Your commission is a slice of that fee. If the order never completes, there is no fee and no commission.
What the commission is a percentage of
Your commission is a percentage of the platform fee, never of the sale price. This is the single most misunderstood part of the program, so here it is in one sentence: on a $1,000 account sale the fee is $150, and a Starter partner earns 25% of $150, which is $37.50.
Tying the payout to the fee is what makes lifetime commissions sustainable. The program can never pay out more than the order earned, whatever the sale price is. The fees below are the ones published at the time of writing; the Pricing page always has the current values.
| Order type | Platform fee | Minimum fee | Maximum fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Social media account sale | 15% of the price | $2.50 | $750 |
| Steam item sale (CS2, Rust) | 5% of the price | $0.10 | $500 |
| Promotion service order | 10% of the price | $1.00 | none |
One consequence of the maximum: an account sale above $5,000 pays the same fee as a $5,000 sale, because the $750 cap applies. A $20,000 account sale therefore pays a Starter partner $187.50, the same as a $5,000 one.
A worked example, step by step
Say someone you referred buys an established X account for $1,000. The order goes through escrow, the seller delivers, and the buyer confirms. Here is what happens next.

- 1. The platform fee on the order is 15% of $1,000, which is $150.
- 2. Your tier decides your share of that $150: 25% at Starter, 30% at Partner, 35% at Elite.
- 3. The commission is credited to your available balance when the order settles: $37.50, $45.00 or $52.50.
The same logic applies to the other order types. The table below shows what one completed order pays at each tier.
| Example order | Platform fee | Starter (25%) | Partner (30%) | Elite (35%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Account, $100 | $15.00 | $3.75 | $4.50 | $5.25 |
| Account, $1,000 | $150.00 | $37.50 | $45.00 | $52.50 |
| Account, $5,000 or more | $750.00 | $187.50 | $225.00 | $262.50 |
| CS2 or Rust item, $80 | $4.00 | $1.00 | $1.20 | $1.40 |
| Promotion, $250 | $25.00 | $6.25 | $7.50 | $8.75 |
Commissions are rounded down to the whole cent. In effective terms, a Starter partner earns 3.75% of an account sale's price (25% of a 15% fee), a Partner earns 4.5%, and an Elite partner earns 5.25%, until the fee cap starts to bite on very large sales.
The three tiers and what counts as an active referral
The tier you sit in depends on how many of your referrals have actually traded. Signups alone do not count. An active referral is a referred user who has already produced at least one credited commission for you before the order being booked.

- Starter, 25%: from your first referral.
- Partner, 30%: once 5 different referrals have completed an order.
- Elite, 35%: once 20 different referrals have completed an order.
The tier is checked at the moment each commission is booked, and the highest tier whose threshold you have reached applies. Once five different referrals have traded, every commission booked after that pays at 30%. Rates and tiers can change for future orders with notice, but commissions already credited are never revised.
Both sides of an order can be referred
If the buyer was referred by one partner and the seller by another, both partners earn on the same order. To keep the program from ever paying more than an order earned, the two payouts together are capped at 60% of the fee. If the combined shares fit under the cap, nothing changes. If they do not, both payouts scale down in proportion.

Two Elite partners on a $150 fee would each earn $52.50 alone. Together that is $105, above the $90 ceiling, so each is paid $45.00 and PlayerSells keeps $60.00. Two partners at 30% or below never hit the ceiling, since 30% plus 30% is exactly 60%. Most orders have at most one referred side, and in that case the cap never applies.
When you get paid and how to withdraw
Commissions are credited to your available balance when the order settles. There is no separate affiliate balance and no clearing period, so the whole amount is withdrawable.
- Withdrawals follow the normal wallet rules: identity verification once, and a $5 minimum per withdrawal.
- Payouts go out in crypto, and a small withdrawal fee applies as listed on the Pricing page.
- You can also spend the balance on boosts, badges or your own purchases instead of withdrawing.
- Every payout appears in the Commissions ledger on the Earn Money page, together with the order it came from.
Commissions are never clawed back. That works because the commission is only booked once the order has completed and the fee is final. An order that ends in a refund pays nothing, so there is nothing to reverse later.
How referrals are attached to you
Your link looks like playersells.com/r/your-code. When someone clicks it, PlayerSells stores your code in their browser for 90 days (the current setting, shown on the program page). If they sign up in that window, they are attached to you permanently.
- A visitor is attached to the first referral link they used.
- You can customise your code on the Earn Money page: lowercase letters, digits and underscores, 3 to 30 characters.
- Any PlayerSells URL works with your code added as ?ref=your-code, and the short link accepts ?to=/marketplace to send visitors to a specific internal page.
What does not earn a commission
Every rule is enforced by the system at booking time, not by a review queue.

- Orders you are part of yourself, including orders by your alternate accounts.
- Orders that end in a refund.
- Any order while your account is banned.
- Orders on platform-owned listings pay on the standard fee, not on the platform's full proceeds.
Cookie stuffing, spam and ads that impersonate PlayerSells forfeit the commissions involved and close the program for the account. The full rules, with disclosure guidance, are covered in our guide to affiliate program rules.
How to start earning in three steps
- 1. Get your link. Create a free account or log in, then open Earn Money in your dashboard and copy your link.
- 2. Share it where people are deciding. A bio, a pinned message, a video description or a guide you wrote. The link placement guide covers where each one fits.
- 3. Watch the ledger. Earn Money shows clicks, referrals, earned to date and every commission with its order. Use the built-in calculator to see what a given order size pays at your tier.
If you want to see the numbers at larger volumes, the earnings math article works through 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 referrals with the tier changes included. If your audience trades CS2 or Rust skins, start with the skin trader guide.
The buyers and sellers you refer are protected by the same escrow process and trust center checks as everyone else, which is what makes the link easy to recommend. Nobody has to take your word for it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the PlayerSells affiliate program pay?
It pays 25%, 30% or 35% of the platform fee, depending on your tier. On a $1,000 account sale the fee is $150, so you earn $37.50 at Starter, $45.00 at Partner or $52.50 at Elite. Item orders and promotion orders pay the same percentages of their own, smaller fees.
Do I earn if my referral is the buyer instead of the seller?
Yes. You earn your share of the fee whichever side of the order your referral is on. If both sides were referred by different partners, both earn, with the combined payout capped at 60% of the fee.
How long does a referral keep paying?
For as long as both accounts exist. There is no 30-day or 12-month cutoff. The attribution cookie lasts 90 days from the click until signup, and after signup the referral is permanent.
When is the commission available to withdraw?
When the order settles, the commission is credited to your available balance with no clearing period. Withdrawals follow the normal wallet rules: identity verification once, a $5 minimum, and a crypto payout.
What counts as an active referral for the tiers?
A referred user who has already produced at least one credited commission for you. Five active referrals move you to Partner and twenty move you to Elite. Signups that never trade do not count.
Can I refer myself or my own accounts?
No. You earn nothing on orders you or your alternate accounts are part of, and self-referral can close the program for your account.
Is there a minimum audience or an application?
No. Every account has a referral link from the day it is created. Open Earn Money in your dashboard, copy the link and share it.
