Measured on 2026-08-24 over a sample of 119,346 channels drawn from the 2,955,123 Telegram channels in the PlayerSells index. The index carries a genuine long tail, so these percentiles read as a statement about Telegram channels in general.

So what actually counts as a lot?

Because the tail is so heavy, percentile and size diverge sharply here. A channel with 326 subscribers is already ahead of three quarters of every public channel, and 6,050 is top-5-percent territory. If you are buying or valuing a channel, size alone is the wrong signal: a 2,035-subscriber channel whose posts nobody reads is worth less than a smaller one with real reach. Our reach check measures that side separately.

Where these numbers come from

The distribution covers public channels with a username, discovered by following forwards and mentions between channels. Private and invite-only channels are not in it and cannot be, since they publish nothing to measure. Groups are counted separately from broadcast channels wherever the type is known. The percentile is a statement about the public, discoverable slice of Telegram.
