The model behind this calculator pays a sponsored Instagram feed post $10 to $25 per 1,000 followers, then scales that band by the account's own engagement against a 1.5 percent baseline. An account with 100,000 followers sitting exactly on that baseline is worth $1,000 to $2,500 for one feed post, $400 to $1,000 for a Story and $1,400 to $3,500 for a Reel. Those are the model's own assumed rates, not observed contracts.
Engagement moves the number more than size does over short ranges. The multiplier is the account's engagement rate divided by 1.5 percent, clamped between 0.6x and 1.7x, so the same 100,000-follower account earns $600 to $1,500 per post at the floor and $1,700 to $4,250 at the ceiling. That is a spread of nearly three times on identical follower counts, which is why a rate card built on followers alone is worth very little.
The monthly figure assumes four sponsored placements, so the same account lands at $4,000 to $10,000 a month and $48,000 to $120,000 a year at baseline engagement. Four placements is an assumption of the model and not a measurement of anyone's calendar: a creator who signs one deal a quarter should divide, and one who runs weekly campaigns should multiply.
Every dollar figure above is produced by running the calculator's own model over the stated inputs, so it cannot drift away from the rates in the table below. The rates themselves are industry heuristics, and PlayerSells does not have access to any brand's actual contract.
