How PlayerSells keeps buyers and sellers safe
PlayerSells keeps account deals safe with escrow: the buyer pays PlayerSells, and the seller is paid only after the buyer confirms the account works. Every listing is reviewed, chat is screened for off-platform contact, a seller's payout is held for a security period, and money from a sale is paid out only to identity-verified sellers.

The short answer
- The buyer's money is held. The buyer pays PlayerSells, not the seller. The seller is paid only after the buyer confirms the account works and PlayerSells releases the order.
- The handover is declared. A seller cannot mark an account delivered until they confirm that every passkey and session is removed, and that two-step login and recovery now belong to the buyer.
- The buyer checks before confirming. A security guide written for each platform walks the buyer through taking full control of the account before the payment is released.
- Payouts are held for a security period. A seller's first three sales clear 15 business days after delivery. Experienced sellers clear faster, down to 24 hours.
- Problems after the sale can be reported. For 30 days after an order completes, the buyer can report a problem from the order page.
- Money from a sale goes to verified people only. One person, one account, and no payout until every step of the identity check is complete and approved.
- Chat stays on PlayerSells. Messages that share contact details or ask for payment outside PlayerSells are blocked before they are delivered.
- PlayerSells decides disputes from the record. The order chat, the delivery and the handover declaration are kept with every order, and a dispute is decided from them.

How does escrow work on PlayerSells?
On PlayerSells the buyer pays PlayerSells, not the seller, and the seller is paid only after the buyer confirms the account works. The payment is held for that order the whole time the account is being handed over, so a seller never has to trust a buyer who has not paid, and a buyer never pays a seller who has not delivered.
Every deal follows the same five stages. Before payment either side can cancel at no cost. From payment until the buyer confirms, either side can open a dispute, and the money stays where it is until PlayerSells decides. Once the buyer confirms, PlayerSells reviews the order and releases the payment to the seller's wallet.

The buyer pays PlayerSells
The payment goes to PlayerSells and is held for this order. The seller sees that it is paid before handing anything over.

The seller hands over
Login details go through the encrypted delivery form, then the seller confirms the handover declaration. Delivery is refused without it.

PlayerSells releases the payment
PlayerSells reviews the order and releases the payment to the seller's wallet, where it stays under a security hold before it can be withdrawn.
PlayerSells acts
Before payment (step 1)
Either side can cancel. Nothing has been charged.
Dispute possible (steps 2 to 4)
Either side can open a dispute. The payment stays held until PlayerSells decides.
After completion (step 5)
The buyer has 30 days to report a problem from the order page.
What "PlayerSells Escrow" means legally. It is the name of the payment protection run by Duck Digital Ltd. When a buyer pays for an order, the buyer pays Duck Digital Ltd, which then owes the seller the net proceeds once the buyer confirms or a dispute is decided in the seller's favour. It is not a bank account, a trust or a third-party escrow agent. Section 5 of the Terms of Service sets out exactly how it works.
All of it applies only to deals made on PlayerSells. A deal arranged in private messages or paid outside the platform has no escrow, no record and no protection.
What does the seller confirm when handing over an account?
Before an account can be marked delivered, the seller must confirm a handover declaration, line by line. PlayerSells refuses the delivery until every line is confirmed, and the confirmed lines are posted to the order chat as a dated record. For a login-based account the seller confirms that:
- every passkey is removed and the account is signed out of all the seller's devices, browsers and apps;
- two-step verification is off, or its authenticator, phone number and backup codes now belong to the buyer;
- the recovery email and phone are the buyer's, or full access to them is included in the delivery;
- no password, session, backup code or any other way back into the account has been kept.
Login details travel through the encrypted delivery form in the order, not through chat. They are encrypted when stored and can be opened only by the buyer, the seller and PlayerSells staff.
Telegram channels and Discord servers change hands through the platform's own ownership transfer rather than a password, so their declaration covers the owner role, admins, bots, linked groups and invite links instead. A seller who has verified their identity signs the declaration in their own verified name, which PlayerSells keeps with the order's record. The buyer sees the declaration, not the seller's name.
How does the buyer check the account before confirming?
Before confirming, the buyer gets a security guide written for the account's platform, shown on the order page, posted in the order chat and sent by email. It works through the account in a fixed order:
- Take over the email. Change the login email to one you control, or take over the mailbox delivered with the account.
- Lock the login. Set a new password.
- End every other session, passkey and device. Sign out everywhere else and remove connected apps.
- Replace two-step verification and recovery. Put your own phone, authenticator and backup codes on the account.
- More for the platform. For example the YouTube owner role, Steam Guard, Twitch stream keys or Discord server admins.
- If something blocks you, say so first. Tell the seller in the order chat and do not confirm.
Confirming receipt is the step that releases the payment, so the order page asks the buyer to confirm only once they control the account. Confirming cannot be undone. Our safety guide has the habits that go with it, such as never sharing access or paying before escrow is funded.
When can a seller withdraw the money from a sale?
When an order completes, the seller's share moves to their PlayerSells wallet and stays under a security hold before it can be withdrawn. Each of a seller's first three sales clears 15 business days after delivery. From the fourth sale the hold gets shorter as the seller builds a record of completed sales, down to 24 hours from the 21st sale.
| Sale | Security hold | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Sales 1 to 3 | 15 business days, and at least 7 days after completion | Delivery |
| Sales 4 and 5 | 7 days | Completion |
| Sales 6 to 20 | 3 days | Completion |
| Sale 21 onward | 24 hours | Completion |

Calendar days. Sales 1 to 3 are counted from delivery, every other row from when the order completes.
15 business days are counted Monday to Friday, which is three calendar weeks. Sales 1 to 3 also wait at least 7 days after the order completes. These are the holds in force on 19 October 2026; each sale's exact release time is shown in the seller's wallet.
The hold protects both sides. It gives the buyer time to find and report a problem while the money for the order is still held, and it gives a new seller's first sales time to show any problem before the money leaves the platform. A seller loses nothing but time, and the wait shortens on its own as sales complete.
The seller's wallet shows the exact release time of every sale. A dispute, a report on the order or a payout review can pause a payment until it is resolved, which section 5 of the Terms of Service allows. Game items such as CS2 and Rust skins follow their own 7-day hold, because Steam lets a trade be reversed for that long.
What if there is a problem with the account after the sale?
For 30 days after an order completes, the buyer can report a problem with the account from the order page. Filing the report pauses any part of the seller's payment for that order that is still held, the seller is asked to respond in the order thread, and PlayerSells decides from the record.
PlayerSells also checks in with the buyer by email 48 hours after the order completes, and again shortly before a longer hold on the seller's payment ends, so a problem can be raised while the money is still held. After the 30 days, a problem is handled as an ordinary support request.
Why do sellers verify their identity before getting paid?
Money from a sale is paid out only to a seller whose identity has been verified, and only once every step of the check is complete and approved. If any step is missing or not approved, no payout is made, and the balance stays in the seller's wallet until it is. The check has four steps:
- Phone. A code sent to the seller's phone.
- Identity document. An ID photographed live with the camera.
- Live selfie. A liveness check that matches the face to the document.
- Proof of address. A recent document in the same name.
One person, one account. An identity can be verified on one PlayerSells account only. When the same person turns out to hold a second account, the accounts of that identity are closed; anyone who believes that is a mistake can write to [email protected].
Listing and selling an account does not need the identity check; getting paid does. The check takes about five minutes. Identity documents are not shown to buyers or other users, and are kept as the Privacy Policy describes.
Are payouts reviewed before they are sent?
Yes. PlayerSells monitors for unusual activity and may review a withdrawal before sending it. A review can ask the seller to verify something, or hold the payout while it is checked. The payout address is checked before money is sent.
Most withdrawals are processed within 1 to 5 business days; one under review can take longer. Section 8 of the Terms of Service covers verification and holds.
How does PlayerSells stop off-platform scams in chat?
Every message in a PlayerSells deal is screened before it is delivered. A message that shares contact details or a messenger handle, or that asks to pay outside PlayerSells, is blocked, and the sender is told why. The most common scam on any account marketplace starts with "let's continue on another app" or "pay me directly, it's faster", and the screening stops that before it reaches the other side.
Once an order is paid, the login email needed for the handover can be shared, and passwords and codes go through the encrypted delivery form. PlayerSells will never ask for payment outside escrow, and never messages first asking for money. The safety guide shows how to spot someone impersonating us.
Who checks listings before they go live?
Every new listing on PlayerSells starts as pending and goes live only after PlayerSells reviews and approves it. The listing form asks the seller to prove they control the account, usually with a one-time code placed in its bio or description, and Steam, League of Legends and Valorant accounts have their own checks.
The same account can be live only once. A seller cannot list an account they have already sold, and when an account sells, any other copy of it is taken down. X listings are re-checked against X regularly, and a listing whose account X has suspended is removed. Review lowers the risk but is not a guarantee, so the buyer's own check before confirming still matters.
How are disputes decided?
A dispute on PlayerSells is decided by PlayerSells from the deal record, never by the buyer or the seller. While a dispute is open the payment stays held. The decision is one of three: refund the buyer, release the payment to the seller, or close the dispute with no money moved.
Where a problem goes
What happens when something is wrong with an order, depending on where the order is. The money follows PlayerSells' decision, never the other party's word.
Something is wrong with an order
The account does not match the listing, a login does not work, or the other side has stopped answering.
Paid, not yet confirmed
Open a dispute from the order page
Either side can, with a written reason. The buyer should raise it before confirming receipt, and within 48 hours of delivery as the Terms set.
The payment stays held
Nothing is released while the dispute is open.
Both sides add evidence
Screenshots and details go into the order chat, next to the delivery record.
Goes to a decision
Completed, within 30 days
The buyer reports a problem
From the order page, for 30 days after the order completes.
The held payment is paused
Any part of the seller's payment for that order that is still held stays paused, and the seller is asked to respond.
Goes to a decision
PlayerSells decides from the deal record
The order chat, the delivery form, the handover declaration and the evidence both sides added. Each decision is recorded, and the money follows it.
Refund to the buyer
The payment held for the order goes back to the buyer.
Release to the seller
The payment goes to the seller and follows the normal security hold.
Closed, no money moved
The order goes back to where it was, and a paused payment continues its normal hold.
Not paid yet, or after 30 days
Neither case needs a dispute.
Not paid yet: cancel the order
Nothing has been charged, so there is nothing to decide.
After 30 days: contact support
The order's protection windows have ended, so it is handled as a support request.
The record is the order chat, the delivery form, the handover declaration and the evidence both sides add, which is why every step of a deal has to happen on the platform. A dispute decided for the buyer is refunded in full. If a paid order is cancelled instead, the Terms keep a flat $10 middleman fee and refund the rest.
Disputes must first go through this process, as section 15 of the Terms of Service sets out. If you believe a decision was wrong, reply in the order thread or contact support with anything the record was missing.
Who runs PlayerSells?
PlayerSells is run by Duck Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16726307, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. The Terms of Service are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled.
PlayerSells is the venue and the payment protection, not a party to the sale: the buyer buys from the seller, and PlayerSells holds and releases the payment under the rules on this page. The official channels are this website and [email protected]; support also runs through tickets in your dashboard.
What does PlayerSells protection not cover?
PlayerSells protection covers deals made on PlayerSells, through escrow and the dispute process described in the Terms. It does not cover:
- deals arranged or paid outside PlayerSells, which have no escrow and no record;
- what the account's platform does later: X, Instagram, TikTok and the others can suspend, restrict or remove an account at any time, including after a sale, and PlayerSells does not insure against that (sections 6 and 11 of the Terms);
- how the account performs later: follower counts, reach and earnings can change after a sale, and PlayerSells does not promise they will hold (section 11 of the Terms);
- problems raised more than 30 days after the order completed, which are handled as support requests.
Questions people ask
- Is it safe to buy social media accounts on PlayerSells?
- Buying an account on PlayerSells is protected by escrow: the buyer pays PlayerSells, and the seller is paid only after the buyer confirms the account works and PlayerSells releases the order. Listings are reviewed before they go live, chat is screened for off-platform contact, and the seller's payout is held for a security period. The account's own platform can still suspend it at any time, which no marketplace can prevent.
- Is PlayerSells escrow a real escrow account?
- PlayerSells Escrow is the name of the payment protection run by Duck Digital Ltd. The buyer pays Duck Digital Ltd, which pays the seller the net proceeds once the buyer confirms or a dispute is decided for the seller. It is not a bank account, a trust or a third-party escrow agent, and section 5 of the Terms of Service sets out how it works.
- What happens if the seller never delivers?
- The payment stays held, and the buyer can open a dispute from the order page. A dispute decided for the buyer is refunded in full. If a paid order is cancelled instead of disputed, the Terms keep a flat $10 middleman fee and refund the rest.
- How long does a buyer have to open a dispute on PlayerSells?
- A buyer should open a dispute before confirming receipt, and within 48 hours of delivery as the Terms set. After the order completes, the buyer has 30 days to report a problem with the account from the order page.
- Why is my PlayerSells payout on hold?
- Every sale has a security hold before the money can be withdrawn. A seller's first three sales clear 15 business days after delivery, sales 4 and 5 after 7 days, sales 6 to 20 after 3 days, and every later sale in 24 hours. A dispute, a report on the order or a payout review can pause it longer. Your wallet shows each sale's exact release time.
- Do I need to verify my identity to sell on PlayerSells?
- Not to list or sell. To get paid, yes: money from a sale is paid out only once every step of the identity check is complete and approved, which is phone, an identity document, a live selfie and proof of address. If any step is missing or not approved, no payout is made and the balance stays in your wallet.
- Can I have more than one PlayerSells account?
- No. PlayerSells allows one account per person, and an identity can be verified on one account only. When the same person turns out to hold a second account, the accounts of that identity are closed.
- Does PlayerSells protect deals made outside the platform?
- No. Escrow, the deal record and the dispute process exist only for deals made and paid on PlayerSells. Anyone who asks to continue on another app or to be paid directly is asking you to give that protection up.
- Who decides a dispute on PlayerSells?
- PlayerSells decides, never the buyer or the seller. The decision is made from the deal record: the order chat, the delivery form, the handover declaration and the evidence both sides add. The outcome is a refund to the buyer, a release to the seller, or closing the dispute with no money moved.
- Can the other party see my identity documents?
- No. Identity documents and the verified name behind an account are not shown to buyers, sellers or other users. They are used for payouts and kept as the Privacy Policy describes.
- What if the account is banned by the platform after I buy it?
- Platforms can suspend or ban an account at any time, including after a sale, and the Terms are clear that PlayerSells does not insure against that. If you believe a ban comes from a problem the seller hid, open a dispute before confirming, or report it within 30 days of completion, and it is decided from the deal record.
