Measured across all 66,493 channels in our Twitch catalog, every one of which carries a follower count. A quarter sit at 47 followers or fewer and half are under 266, while the top 1 percent begin at 372,271, roughly 1,400 times the median. That gap is why a raw follower number tells you so little on its own.

Our Twitch catalog is built by a sweep that reads the live directory every 15 minutes, so it holds channels we have recorded going live - not every registered account. Read the percentile as a place among channels that actually stream, which is the comparison a streamer wants anyway.

Followers are the vanity number on a live platform

Subscriptions, bits and the ad share are all counted per person actually watching, which makes the follower count the weakest signal Twitch exposes. Turnout is lower here than on Kick: the median Twitch channel we measure has 1.09% of its followers watching at any moment against 2.18% on Kick, and even a top-decile Twitch channel converts 4.65%. The viewership ladder is the one that decides income. The median tracked Twitch channel averages 5 concurrent viewers, 104 is the 90th percentile and 1,431 the 99th, measured over 41,506 channels. A channel at 12,688 followers is in the top 10 percent of the table below and can still be a ten-viewer channel.

Where these numbers come from

Our Twitch catalog is built the same way as our Kick one: a sweep reads the live directory every 15 minutes and a nightly rollup turns those samples into the viewership numbers on this page. It therefore covers channels we have recorded going live rather than every registered Twitch account, most of which have never streamed at all. Twitch publishes neither the follower distribution nor any viewer history, so both ladders here are ours, measured rather than estimated, and the percentile describes the tracked set. A channel we have never caught live can still be ranked by typing its follower count into the second field.
