The rules that keep your PlayerSells referral commissions eligible: self-referral, disclosure, attribution, refunds, payouts and what forfeits earnings.

You stay eligible for PlayerSells referral commissions by following five rules: never refer yourself or your alternate accounts, never refer the person you are trading with, do not use cookie stuffing or ads that imitate PlayerSells, do not spam, and disclose that your link is an affiliate link. Most of these rules are enforced automatically by the system at the moment a commission is booked, so breaking them costs you money silently rather than triggering a warning.

This guide lists every rule, explains what each one costs you if you break it, and covers disclosure and payouts. It is based on the published terms of the affiliate program. For the commission math, see how the referral commissions work.

The rules at a glance

What earns a PlayerSells referral commission: referred user trades, either side, every order for life; and what pays nothing: own orders, refunds, banned accounts, spam

RuleWhat happens if it is broken
No self-referral, alternate accounts or trading partnersThe order pays nothing. Repeated or deliberate abuse forfeits the commissions involved and closes the program for the account.
Orders that end in a refundNo commission is booked.
Account bannedNo commission is earned while the ban is active.
Cookie stuffing, spam, ads impersonating PlayerSellsCommissions involved are forfeited and the program is closed for the account.
Attribution: first link winsA visitor stays attached to the first referral link they used.

You do not earn on orders you are part of yourself. If your referral is the buyer and you are the seller (or the other way around), the order pays nothing. Referring your own buyers, sellers or alternate accounts earns nothing and can close the program for you.

The reasoning is the same one behind the whole design. The commission is a share of a fee that PlayerSells earned from a real, independent order. An order between you and an account you control earned nothing real, so there is nothing to share.

The restriction extends to people you are trading with. Referring your own counterparty in a deal is treated as self-dealing. The clean approach is to refer people you do not transact with.

Orders that end in a refund

An order that ends in a refund pays nothing. The commission is booked only after the order completes and the platform fee is final, which is also why nothing is ever clawed back later. If an order is disputed and resolved in the buyer's favor, no fee is retained, so there is no commission to pay.

Banned accounts

An account that is banned does not earn commissions while the ban is active. If you break marketplace rules such as off-platform dealing or fraud, your referral earnings stop with everything else.

What is not allowed in promotion

  • Cookie stuffing: forcing a referral cookie onto visitors who did not click your link. It fills your numbers with people who never chose you and is prohibited.
  • Ads that impersonate PlayerSells: paid ads, lookalike pages or fake accounts posing as the marketplace. Promote as yourself.
  • Spam: unsolicited mass messages, link drops in communities that ban them and repeated posting.

Any of these forfeits the commissions involved and closes the program for the account. The practical way to stay clear is to send people who asked, or who are reading something you wrote about the topic.

How attribution works, and why it matters for the rules

When someone clicks your link, PlayerSells stores your code in their browser for 90 days, the current setting shown on the program page. A visitor is attached to the first link they used. After they sign up, the attribution is permanent.

Two consequences follow. A referral you sent last year still pays today, so a tidy reputation is worth more than a fast click. And you cannot take someone over by sending them a later link, which is why link-swapping tactics do not work.

Disclosure: say you earn a commission

Treat disclosure as part of the job. When you have a financial connection to something you recommend, the people reading need to know. In the United States the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides expect a clear and conspicuous disclosure of a material connection, and regulators in other countries such as the UK apply similar standards. Many platforms also have their own branded-content or paid-partnership rules, so check the platform you post on.

What good disclosure looks like:

  • It is close to the link, not hidden in a profile page or a wall of hashtags.
  • It uses plain words: "affiliate link" or "I earn a commission if you trade".
  • It appears in every format: a video description, a pinned message, a reply, a guide.

Bio: I earn a commission from PlayerSells links.

Video description: (affiliate link) Buy or sell with escrow protection: playersells.com/r/your-code

Reply: I use PlayerSells for this. Referral link, so I earn a commission if you trade: playersells.com/r/your-code

Disclosure also protects the recommendation. Readers trust a link more when the connection is stated. This is general information, not legal advice: for a business or a large audience, check the rules that apply where you operate.

Be careful about the claims you make

The safest rule is to describe the process and not promise outcomes. You can state what PlayerSells does: funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms, listings are reviewed by hand, and disputes go to a human moderator. The how it works page and the trust center describe the process. You should not promise that an account will sell, at what price, how fast, or that your audience will make money. The Is PlayerSells legit page and the safety guide are better links than any claim of your own.

Payouts, withdrawals and taxes

The commission is credited to your available balance when the order settles. There is no separate affiliate balance and no clearing period.

StepWhat to know
CreditAvailable balance when the order settles. No holding period on referral commissions.
VerificationIdentity verification once, before your first withdrawal.
Minimum$5 per withdrawal.
MethodCrypto payout. A small withdrawal fee applies as listed on the Pricing page.
AlternativeSpend the balance on boosts, badges or purchases instead.
RecordThe Commissions ledger on Earn Money shows every payout with its order.

Commissions are income in most countries, and how they are taxed depends on where you live. Keep the ledger and your withdrawal records, and ask a qualified tax adviser what applies to you. The site cannot tell you. Our article on taxes on selling a social media account covers the seller side of the same question.

Changes to rates and tiers

Rates and tiers can change for future orders, with notice. Commissions already credited are never revised, and the fee schedule that drives them is the one published on the Pricing page. Check the program page when you plan around a number, since it computes its examples from the live fee table each time it loads.

A compliance checklist before you publish

  • 1. Is the link one that you and none of your alternate accounts will use to trade?
  • 2. Are you sending it to people who asked, or who are reading something you wrote?
  • 3. Does every placement say it is an affiliate link, next to the link?
  • 4. Is the community's rule on links and self-promotion something you have read?
  • 5. Do your claims describe the process (escrow, review, dispute handling) and avoid promising results?
  • 6. Do you know how you will report the income where you live?

If all six are yes, the program is built to pay you without friction. The placement side is covered in the link placement guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What breaks the PlayerSells affiliate program rules?

Referring yourself, your alternate accounts or the people you trade with, cookie stuffing, spam, and ads that impersonate PlayerSells. Any of these forfeits the commissions involved and closes the program for the account.

Do I have to disclose that my link is an affiliate link?

Yes, treat it as required. In the United States the FTC expects a clear disclosure of a financial connection to what you recommend. Put "affiliate link" or "I earn a commission" next to the link in every format.

Do I get a commission if the order is refunded?

No. The commission is booked only after the order completes and the fee is final. An order that ends in a refund pays nothing, and because nothing is booked, nothing is taken back.

Can I refer someone I am about to trade with?

No. Referring the person you are trading with is treated as self-dealing, and you do not earn on orders you are part of. Refer people you do not transact with.

How long is the attribution window?

A visitor is attached to the first link they used, for 90 days from the click until they sign up. After signup the attribution is permanent, and every completed order they place pays you for as long as both accounts exist.

How do I withdraw referral earnings?

Commissions go to your available balance when the order settles. Withdraw under the normal wallet rules: identity verification once, a $5 minimum per withdrawal and a crypto payout. You can also spend the balance on the platform.

Are commissions ever taken back?

No. Commissions already credited are never revised or clawed back, even if rates change later.
