Instagram Trends

Which Instagram accounts and categories are actually moving, ranked from 0 tracked accounts that gained followers in the last 7 days, current through 2026-09-20. Instagram publishes no follower history to anyone, so this is measured from our own daily snapshots rather than read off a platform endpoint. Free, no login.

0 tracked Instagram accounts gained followers in this window, from our own daily snapshots through 2026-09-20.

Fastest growing, by percent

Accounts above 10,000 followers, ranked by how much they grew relative to where they started. The floor is there because a small account gaining forty followers posts a percentage nobody can copy.

We hold no daily follower snapshots covering the last 7 days. Instagram publishes no follower history, so this board can only show growth we have measured ourselves.

Most followers gained

The same window ranked by raw followers added. It skews to the largest accounts we track, which is exactly what it is for.

No tracked account gained followers across the last 7 days in our snapshots.

Categories on the move

Each category's growth is the sum of followers gained over the sum of followers it started with, not an average of its members' rates. Averaging percentages would let the smallest account in a bucket decide where the bucket ranks.

No category has at least 5 tracked accounts with growth in this window, so ranking them would describe a handful of accounts rather than a category.

Hashtags in the captions we hold

Instagram publishes no hashtag volume to anyone who is not logged in, so this is not a hashtag volume ranking and does not pretend to be. It counts tags appearing in the captions of posts our crawler has stored inside the window.

What this board measures, and what it cannot

Instagram shows a profile's follower count as it is right now and publishes nothing about what it was yesterday. Growth data therefore does not exist unless somebody records it, which is what our crawler does: it snapshots every tracked account and rolls those snapshots into a daily table of followers at end of day and the day's change. Every growth figure on this page comes out of that table, which is current through 2026-09-20.

There is no Instagram trending endpoint to read. No topic ranking, no hashtag volume, nothing about what the platform as a whole is searching for is published to a logged-out reader. So this board is explicitly a view of our catalog, not a census of Instagram, and the hashtag section counts tags in the captions of posts we have stored rather than claiming a search volume it has no way to know.

Growth is published two ways because either one alone misleads. By followers gained, the ranking is a list of the largest accounts we track. By percent, it fills with small accounts where a handful of new followers is a huge week, which is why that ranking carries a floor of 10,000followers. Reading them side by side is what separates a big account's ordinary week from a mid-sized account's genuine breakout.

Every figure here is measured from PlayerSells' own Instagram crawl and daily snapshots. Nothing is bought from a data vendor and nothing is read from a logged-in session.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Instagram's own trending list?

No, and there is no such thing to read. Instagram publishes no trending endpoint, no topic ranking and no hashtag volume to anyone who is not logged in. This board measures movement inside the Instagram catalog our own crawler maintains: the accounts we track, their follower history from our own daily snapshots, and the hashtags in the captions of posts we hold. An account nobody has ever pointed the crawler at cannot appear here however fast it is growing.

Where does the follower history come from?

From us. Instagram exposes a profile's follower count right now and nothing about what it was last week, so growth data does not exist unless somebody records it. Our crawler snapshots each tracked account and rolls those snapshots into a daily table. The date the board is current through is printed above the first ranking, and it is the honest limit of how fresh any of this is.

Why are there two growth rankings?

Because either one alone is misleading. Ranked by followers gained, the board is just a list of the biggest accounts we track and tells you nothing. Ranked by percent, it fills with tiny accounts where forty new followers is a thirty percent week. So both are published, and the percent ranking carries a floor of 10,000 followers to keep it meaningful.

How is a category's growth rate calculated?

As the sum of followers gained across the category divided by the sum of followers it started the window with. It is deliberately not an average of the members' individual growth rates: averaging percentages lets one small fast-growing account outvote every large account in the bucket, which would rank the category on its least representative member.

Are the hashtags a volume ranking?

No. Hashtag volume is not public on Instagram. This section counts how often a tag appears in the captions of posts our crawler has stored inside the window, and it only lists a tag used on at least 3 posts by at least 2 different accounts, so one account repeating its own tag cannot become a trend. Treat it as what the accounts we track are tagging, not as what Instagram is searching for.

How often does this update?

The rollup behind it is rebuilt as the crawler revisits accounts, and the board itself is cached for a few hours rather than recomputed per visitor. The window switch offers 7, 14, 30 days; a shorter window is more current and noisier, a longer one is steadier and slower to notice a change.

PlayerSells is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. This board ranks accounts inside PlayerSells' own Instagram catalog using follower snapshots we record ourselves. It is not a view of Instagram as a whole, and Instagram publishes no trending or hashtag volume data to logged-out readers.
