Is PlayerUp Legit? Middleman, Fees and the Best PlayerUp Alternatives

PlayerUp is a real marketplace whose Terms name PlayerUp.com under Washington State law, without naming the company behind it. Most trades on it happen directly between members: PlayerUp holds the money only when you pay for its optional middleman service, and its recall protection is partial unless you buy an insurance package. The closest alternatives that always hold the buyer's payment are PlayerSells and SWAPD for social media accounts, and G2G, Z2U and Eldorado.gg for game accounts.

Is PlayerUp legit and safe to use?

PlayerUp is a working marketplace with a large catalog, so the question to ask is who holds your money. On PlayerUp, members trade with each other directly unless the buyer chooses the middleman service, in which case PlayerUp holds the funds until delivery. A buyer who skips the middleman has no one holding the payment.

Buyer fees run from 0% to 9.99% depending on payment method, with 9.99% for PayPal and cards; sellers pay from 3%. After the sale, PlayerUp includes what it calls "partial" recall protection, and full cover only with a paid insurance package. PlayerUp's Terms do not name the legal entity that operates the site.
