Unnecessary Inventions is the brainchild of the self taught inventor and evil genius Matty Benedetto. Over the past three years, he has designed and fully prototyped over 350 new inventions that solve problems that don't exist. Each week from the Unnecessary Design Studio in Burlington Vermont, Matty develops 1-3 brand new fake consumer products using diverse production methods from 3D printing, sewing, mold making, wood working, laser cutting, and whatever else he can get his hands on. His inventions ideas come from all corners of the internet from online memes, pop culture moments, lifestyle trends. His inventions live across the Unnecessary Inventions's social profiles with some posts mimicking real marketing campaigns through his signature product commercial style alongside behind the scenes videos on how the inventions get built and how he might actually use them in his daily life.
