A typical post picks up 3.3K interactions against 113K followers, an engagement rate of 2.91%. Measured over 31 original posts, its engagement rate beats 97% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 33K times each, and 9.78% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 29.7% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 43% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 31 posts sampled, 52% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 28K interactions, about 8.7x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Alex Onyia's engagement rate beats 97% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 96% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 2.91%, Alex Onyia sits above the 90th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 10% band, which runs 2.61% to 82.8%.

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

Last jamb was a disaster for my village youngsters. Over 70% of them failed jamb and the rest sparely passed. Rather than waiting for the government, we decided to take a different approach. We took the challenge upon ourselves for it not to repeat itself again. Every youngster in my village right now is on an intensive morning and evening drilling for next years Jamb and they undertake CBT once monthly with large pool of 16 years past questions across different subjects. In the CBT we track their performances on different topics and lays more emphasis on their weaknesses across different subject topics. One common thing we noticed is that many of the youngsters are alien to computers and can't even use a mouse nor keyboards. How were they planning to succeed in jamb when they could had probably be using a computer for the first time on Jamb day? It's an eye opener and our mission is for all of them to score above 250. We will be paying for all their jamb exam fees and are also offering full scholarship to everyone that scores 300 and above.

I bought fuel yesterday in Toronto, Canada, at $1.7999 CAD per litre, and it cost about $98.95 CAD to fill up my tank. This should ideally last me about a week or more. Now, the minimum wage in Canada is $17.95 CAD per hour, which means someone who works an average of 8 hours a day will earn $143.60 CAD before tax. A day's salary is enough to fuel his or her car for 2–3 weeks. This means that even one of the lowest earners in Canada can afford to own and drive a car daily without the cost of fuel becoming an overwhelming burden. Public education for children is also free and of high quality. In Nigeria, fuel is about ₦1,300 per litre. It would cost about ₦88,000 to fill up a similar tank. The minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦70,000 per month. This means that an entire month's minimum wage cannot even fill the tank once. A minimum-wage earner in Nigeria cannot realistically afford to own, fuel, and maintain a car. The same person still has to afford food, rent, children's education, healthcare, electricity, transportation, and other basic necessities. The list goes on. In fact, even a bank manager in Nigeria earning ₦1 million monthly could still struggle to maintain a decent standard of living after covering these basic expenses. This is one reason poverty is so widespread in Nigeria. The cost of basic living is simply too high relative to what the average person earns. You don't just have an income problem in Nigeria. You have an affordability problem. For millions of Nigerians, simply living a decent life has become too expensive and increasingly impossible.

In the next couple of months, we will have Dutch experts visit the South East to train our children in high-precision masonry, plumbing, welding, and carpentry. We will start with these core skills and gradually expand into other relevant areas. The first cohort will then pass on their training and knowledge to others as we scale the programme. This is the generation that will build our society.

Good News: PISA Assessment Will Be Coming to the South East Soon After I wrote about my desire for the South East to participate in the PISA assessment, I received a message from Raj. He flew in from the United States, and we met in Toronto to discuss extensively how the assessment could be conducted across the region. This assessment is very important to me because if the South East performs strongly on the global stage, it could significantly boost the region’s international reputation and help demonstrate the quality of talent we are developing. This could strengthen our case for attracting world-class companies such as Apple, Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, Tesla, and others to invest in the region. We are deliberately nurturing a large pool of exceptional talent, and the world needs to see what is happening here. In 10 years, our ambition is for the South East to become a major source of talent for the global workforce. And we are very serious about it.

In 2016, Nina tried to facilitate the acquisition of Educare by GTBank for ₦600 million (about $2 million at the time). I declined the offer because I believed strongly in the potential of Educare. She went on to introduce us to several schools, many of which became customers in our early days. Since then, she has moved on to hold several senior positions at some of Nigeria’s top banks. Today, she is a Global Product Manager at Citi in Toronto, Canada, covering over 90 countries. We have so many exceptional Nigerians like Nina leading major global institutions around the world. Our problem has never been a lack of talent. We have the talent. What we lack is the quality of leadership and the enabling environment needed to retain exceptional people, give them opportunities to thrive, and build world-class institutions here at home.

WAEC has officially been deprioritized in Nigeria. Starting in 2027, NECO examinations will be conducted before WAEC, and NECO results will also be released ahead of WAEC results to enable students to pursue their university admissions without unnecessary delays. Students may no longer be required to sit for WAEC from 2027. When we raised our concerns, WAEC was nonchalant and failed to take them seriously. NECO must now step up and ensure excellence, credibility, and integrity in its examinations.

Today, I visited Isaac Newton’s birthplace at Woolsthorpe Manor in England. This was where Newton did some of his most important work, developing his ideas on gravity, calculus, and optics. The famous apple tree still stands behind me, and right in front of me, an apple from that very tree fell. Newton made these breakthroughs during a period when Cambridge University was closed because of the Great Plague, forcing him to return home to Woolsthorpe. That period became one of the most remarkable chapters in the history of science. My focus on this journey is to understand, from first principles, how civilization was built. how ideas, discoveries, institutions, and individuals transformed human society. I will also be visiting Albert Einstein’s birthplace in Ulm, Germany. The journey continues.

What is Alex Onyia's engagement rate on X?
Alex Onyia (@winexviv) has an engagement rate of 2.91%, based on the median interactions across 31 original posts from the last 30 days against 112,528 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 2.91%, Alex Onyia sits above the 90th percentile of the 212,741 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @winexviv have real engagement?
