A typical post picks up 61 interactions against 121K followers, an engagement rate of 0.05%. Measured over 17 original posts, its engagement rate beats 40% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 15K times each, and 0.397% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 12.7% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.6 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 17% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 17 posts sampled, 24% carry an image or video, 12% are part of a thread and 18% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 2.9K interactions, about 48x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #getsmarter, #hdd, #tipoftheday.

Compared with accounts its own size

Sam Parikh's engagement rate beats 40% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 20% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.05%, Sam Parikh sits above the 25th percentile of the 157,515 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.022% to 0.128%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 157,515 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 26,033 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 24% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 18% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 326 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

🚨 $LITE LUMENTUM'S CEO NOW SEES A 70% LASER SHORTFALL IN 2027, UP FROM THE 30%-PLUS GAP HE CITED IN MAY MALAGA, Spain, Sept. 24 — Lumentum ($LITE) expects to ship only 30% of the laser demand its customers are placing on it in 2027, chief executive Michael Hurlston told the Optica Global Photonics Economic Forum here. "Next year, with the advent of CPO and NPO in 2027, our estimate is that we are going to be under shipping demand by 70%. Literally 70%. So we can only supply 30% of what we're being asked to supply," he said. - May 5, fiscal Q3 call: the supply-demand imbalance on EML lasers was "somewhere greater than 30%" - Sept. 24: 70% for all of 2027, once co-packaged (CPO) and near-packaged optics (NPO) ship in volume - CPO for scale-out is already "generating meaningful revenue," and Lumentum expects it to reach multiple customers in mid to second half of 2027 - Balance: "we're hopeful that by 2029, 2030, we get to some level of balance" Hurlston said the size of the jump caught the company off guard, and that it came from outside Nvidia. "We obviously got an investment from NVIDIA. Coherent got an investment from NVIDIA. So we understood the direction they were taking. What we didn't understand was the rest of the market. The rest of the market is coming on equally strong." Watching this session, I set his Malaga number next to the one he gave on the May call. In May the 30% was a current number for one product line. In September the 70% covers a whole year and includes CPO, a business Lumentum says is already generating meaningful revenue. Back in May, Hurlston also said the imbalance gives Lumentum "some pricing flexibility." With its own CEO not expecting balance before 2029, $LITE and $COHR are selling every InP laser they can make into a seller's market for at least two more years.

Reading these numbers

A typical post picks up 61 interactions against 121K followers, an engagement rate of 0.05%. What is Sam Parikh's engagement rate on X?
Sam Parikh (@smartertrader) has an engagement rate of 0.05%, based on the median interactions across 17 original posts from the last 30 days against 121,103 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.05%, Sam Parikh sits above the 25th percentile of the 157,515 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @smartertrader have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 40% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @smartertrader post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.57 posts per day across the measured window.
