Rahul Kanwal engagement report
@rahulkanwal - 4.3M followers on X
Measured over 43 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 1, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 112 interactions against 4.3M followers, an engagement rate of 0.003%. Measured over 43 original posts, its engagement rate beats 28% of 3,758 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 32K times each, and 0.349% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.743% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.9 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Saturday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 43 posts sampled, 81% carry an image or video, 7% are part of a thread and 26% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 3.3K interactions, about 29x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #ndtv, #walkthetalk, #datafy.

Compared with accounts its own size
Rahul Kanwal's engagement rate beats 28% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,758 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 31% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.003%, Rahul Kanwal sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

Meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister @TVKVijayHQ C. Joseph Vijay this morning. As part of my meeting preparation, I watched his magnum opus, Jana Nayagan, last evening at Sathyam Cinemas, Royapettah, Chennai. Watching the audience respond to the film, I found myself wondering: had Jana Nayagan released as originally planned before the Tamil Nadu election, how much bigger might @tvkvijayhq’s victory have been? TVK won 108 seats. Had more voters had the opportunity to watch the film before casting their ballots, would that tally have been even higher? We’ll never know. Counterfactuals are impossible to prove. But they’re often among the most fascinating questions in electoral analysis. #TamilNadu #TVK #JanaNayagan #Elections #Psephology

On my flight from Delhi to Kathmandu was a group from the Isha Foundation (@ishafoundation), on their way to the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage. They were brimming with excitement, looking forward to the journey to Lord Shiva’s abode. Many from that same group were on my flight back from Kathmandu. The excitement of the onward journey had given way to a deep sense of grief and anxiety. They were sombre and shaken by the tragedy that had engulfed fellow pilgrims from Isha. Yet, amid the anguish, there was something remarkable about their resolve. Many spoke of returning — of undertaking the pilgrimage again, undeterred by the tragedy that had just unfolded. My thoughts and prayers are with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev (@SadhguruJV), the entire Isha Foundation family and all those still waiting anxiously for news of their loved ones as they grapple with this terrible tragedy. May Lord Shiva give them strength. 🙏

“We saw Lord Shiva’s face on the mountain as the water came hurtling towards us.” A group of 60 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu were travelling in three buses on the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage. The whereabouts of around 40 travelling in two of those buses remain unknown. The 21 pilgrims in the third bus had a miraculous escape, scrambling to higher ground as the waters rushed down. I met them at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport as they headed home via Delhi to Chennai — counting their blessings, but deeply worried about those still missing. Their extraordinary account of survival. #NepalFloods #NDTV

NDTV 24x7 is now NDTV. But this is about more than a new name or a new look. It is about the journalism we choose to do. The standards we set for ourselves. And earning the trust behind those four letters — every day, with every story. Clarity over chaos. Sense over sensation. Trust over theatrics. Groundwork over guesswork. Substance over spectacle. Reality over rhetoric. Facts over frenzy. Perspective over polarisation. Depth over drama. Grit over gloss. These are not claims of perfection. They are choices we make — and standards you should hold us to. A new NDTV for a new India. NDTV. When It Really Matters. @NDTV #WhenItReallyMatters #NDTV

Fascinating meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister @actorvijay. The @TVKVijayHQ government is saying all the right things on fighting corruption, governance and welfare. The real test is whether that intent can transform the administrative culture and deliver measurable change. The biggest difference from our conversations before the election wasn’t what Vijay said, but how he said it. The uncertainty of a challenger has given way to the assurance of someone entrusted with governing. We also discussed Jana Nayagan. Vijay remains convinced the film was integral to communicating his political vision and spoke of his disappointment that it couldn’t be released before the election as planned. Tamil Nadu’s governance baseline is already high. This government will ultimately be judged by outcomes—and whether the everyday corruption that affects ordinary citizens actually comes down. @tvkvellum #TamilNadu #TVK

Some journeys have a way of coming full circle. This was one of those moments. Deeply grateful to Cardiff University for awarding me an Honorary Fellowship. I first came to Cardiff in 2002 as a participant in the Chevening Fellowship for International Broadcast Journalists. Twenty-four years later, I returned with my family as the Class of 2026 celebrated their graduation, and memories of my own time on campus came flooding back. Thank you, @cardiffuni, for welcoming me into the community of Honorary Fellows, and thank you, @CheveningFCDO and the Chevening Programme for giving a 21-year-old journalist an opportunity that broadened my horizons, sharpened my craft and shaped the way I look at the world. I look forward to staying connected with the Cardiff University community and continuing to champion the values of curiosity, integrity and public service in ways that contribute meaningfully to society. #CardiffGrad #CardiffGraduation

GIFT City is showing signs of momentum. But the more consequential question is: what next? Can it make the leap to becoming a truly global financial centre, competing for capital and talent with Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong and London? For a special NDTV Walk The Talk, we spoke to the regulator @IFSCA_Official, the leadership at @GIFTCity_, international bankers including @sanbatra of @HSBC_IN, and global money managers including @iRadhikaGupta of @EdelweissMF — about what’s working, what isn’t, the regulatory bottlenecks, and what it will take for GIFT to make the next big leap. Coming soon on @NDTV. #GIFTCity #WalkTheTalk

Can GIFT City become India’s answer to Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, London or New York? A little over a decade ago, much of where GIFT City now stands was barren, riverine land. Today, it is India’s big attempt to build a global financial hub. For this week’s Walk The Talk, I spoke to the regulator, the people building the ecosystem, bankers and money managers about what’s working, what isn’t — and what GIFT City still needs to do to compete with the world’s leading financial centres. For more, watch Walk The Talk on NDTV. #GIFTCity #WalkTheTalk #NDTV

- What is Rahul Kanwal's engagement rate on X?
- Rahul Kanwal (@rahulkanwal) has an engagement rate of 0.003%, based on the median interactions across 43 original posts from the last 30 days against 4,321,543 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.003%, Rahul Kanwal sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @rahulkanwal have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 28% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,758 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @rahulkanwal post?
- Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Saturday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.93 posts per day across the measured window.
