Early reading. We have captured 5 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 98 interactions against 106K followers, an engagement rate of 0.092%. Posts are seen about 12K times each, and 0.846% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 10.9% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.67 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 04:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 5 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 636 interactions, about 6.5x its own typical post. Only 5 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 204,880 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,891 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 04:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 0% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 786 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

STATEMENT ON HON DIDMUS BARASA I understand why Hon. Didmus Barasa, MP for the good people of Kimilili, is very bitter. He has lost round one. But he knows I hold nothing personal against him. The case is against CUE and Murang'a University. He is only an interested party. My case is simple. My young brother's academic papers cannot withstand scrutiny. One does not climb a tree from the top. There can be no PhD without a valid first degree. But he is not the problem. The institutions are. He may call me names. He may digress. He also knows the many calls and messages he has sent me - over the last few weeks. He is my junior in age, academics and much else. I will therefore do all I can to protect him from the harm he is inflicting on himself. I can only fight with his boss and sponsor. Not with him. I urge his legal counsel to guide him on the sub judice rule. Forgery of public documents by a State officer is a very serious offence. So is the murder charge against him — and whose file is still open. Under Chapter Six of the Constitution, including Articles 73 and 75, the consequences of a conviction include being barred from public office. I hope he will be guided accordingly. Let him take a break from the campaigns and prepare to meet COFEK and I in court. I am equal to the task. It will be messy and noisy. There is already a casualty!

More unanswered questions on the Dangote Lamu Refinery — as High Court Order is Ignored for Wednesday Launch: 🌻A Sh2.2 trillion, 700,000 bpd refinery for a country whose crude output will peak at about 50,000 bpd. So it runs on imported crude, with the same exposure to Hormuz, forex swings and geopolitics it is supposed to cure. 🌻Dangote holds 70%. Kenya puts in Sh64.7bn for 10%. Who carries the risk, and who takes the profit? 🌻Tanzania and Uganda have gone their own way with a $20B complex at Tanga. Who exactly will buy from Lamu? 🌻On Monday the Land and Environment Court ordered status quo pending an Oct 14 hearing over Lamu residents' land and compensation claims. Groundbreaking went ahead anyway. 🌻Then there is Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote, talking like an arrogant Kenyan politician and saying he is "ready for them" (those opposed to the project). Even if President Ruto wins in 2027, he must leave office in 2032. The refinery, and Kenyans, will still be here. 🌻Picking political fights with the people you will serve for 30 years is insensitive to his own business. Investors need social licence, not just State House. #TheTroubleWithDangoteRefinery #JungleLaw #DangoteAboveKenyanLaw

JKUAT disowns Didmus Barasa engineering degree, says Kimilili MP was not a student at the university and did not graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in May 2008. https://t.co/N4TrwSON7o

Karma has no expiry date. Didmus Barasa once questioned Oscar Sudi's academic history and even said he knew where Sudi went to school. Now look at where we are. JKUAT has put it in writing: Didmus Barasa was never a student at JKUAT, and the university says the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering certificate attributed to him is NOT GENUINE. JKUAT says it has also communicated those findings to EACC and the Engineers Board of Kenya. So I have one brutal question: How did Oscar Sudi escape the academic papers scandal? Sudi was charged over alleged forged academic certificates and was eventually acquitted because the prosecution failed to prove its case to the required legal standard. But that does not erase the questions that were raised. And now the same country is watching another explosive academic-credentials controversy involving a sitting MP. The law cannot have one standard for the powerful and another for everybody else.
