A typical post picks up 340 interactions against 345K followers, an engagement rate of 0.098%. Measured over 62 original posts, its engagement rate beats 71% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 10K times each, and 3.23% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.04% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.5 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 62 posts sampled, 73% carry an image or video, 11% are part of a thread and 40% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 6.7K interactions, about 20x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Naheed Nenshi's engagement rate beats 71% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 80% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.098%, Naheed Nenshi sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,374 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 17:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 73% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 40% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 383 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

We’ve always known, but now it’s confirmed, that Danielle Smith’s separatist friends, including a sitting UCP president, have been conspiring to hand over Alberta’s land, oil and water to Donald Trump. Yet she refuses to kick them out of her party and instead changes the laws to give them everything they want. Albertans deserve so much better than this weak leadership that hurts us all. https://t.co/b2HSvxu7ut

Danielle Smith’s referendum is an evil plot to keep the separatist fire burning. On referendum day: Vote Option 1 on Question 10. Vote NO on Questions 1–9. It’s the only way to save Canada.  To find referendum information and get involved with the campaign, visit https://t.co/4GouQ4Y2dx.

There is a very real risk of foreign interference in Danielle Smith’s referendum this fall. I wrote to CSIS earlier this year and just received the reply. I’m happy they’re taking it seriously and I encourage anyone with evidence of foreign interference to contact them. And don’t forget that this is all happening in the context of the massive data breach that the Premier and her government keep waving off, even though we now know that your data was stored and available on websites of super-right Trumpian organizations for months. We need to know how this government is protecting the integrity of this referendum if they are at all.

It’s time for Danielle Smith to get on Team Canada. Reinstate the ban on American booze. Call off the separatist referendum.  Let’s send a clear message of unity to the United States: Albertans are proud Canadians, and we stand with Team Canada. https://t.co/ON509JYWwv

Have you received Danielle Smith and the UCP’s $4 million propaganda brochure? It’s full of lies, and taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for it, never mind the $200 million referendum. Danielle Smith and the UCP have the wrong priorities. We should be focused on education, health care and the cost of living. On October 19, vote YES to Canada and NO to the rest.

We shouldn’t have to hold press conferences just so people can be treated with basic dignity. Ben is fully dependent and requires wraparound care. Yet he was denied AISH and told he should get a job. If it weren’t for his courageous mother speaking out and fighting on his behalf, who knows what would have happened to him. Danielle Smith and the UCP should be ashamed.

Danielle Smith is a weak leader for the province and within her own separatist party. A proud Canadian would never allow a separatist to remain in their party. https://t.co/sQvrk8B0BU

Danielle Smith says she's putting us through all of this and spending $200 million because it will "settle the separatist question." No one believes her. Not even her separatist pals and certainly not Albertans, most of whom think she's a separatist. Vote to remain in Canada, vote no on the remaining questions, and elect an NDP government, because the separatist debacle will never end as long as she’s premier. https://t.co/AmD0iP3Wzz

Canada is only as strong as our weakest link. We need to stand shoulder to shoulder with all our fellow Canadians, to protect Canadian families, to protect Canadian jobs, and, most important, to protect Canadian sovereignty and to protect Canada. https://t.co/sYux5RQR63

Reading these numbers

What is Naheed Nenshi's engagement rate on X?
Naheed Nenshi (@nenshi) has an engagement rate of 0.098%, based on the median interactions across 62 original posts from the last 30 days against 345,050 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.098%, Naheed Nenshi sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,374 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @nenshi have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 71% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @nenshi post?
Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.5 posts per day across the measured window.
