Mosh engagement report
@moshhamedani - 153K followers on X
Measured over 8 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 24, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 986 interactions against 153K followers, an engagement rate of 0.642%. Measured over 8 original posts, its engagement rate beats 87% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 36K times each, and 2.74% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 23.5% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 20% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 8 posts sampled, 13% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 33K interactions, about 34x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Mosh's engagement rate beats 87% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 73% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.642%, Mosh sits above the 75th percentile of the 156,839 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 25% band, which runs 0.604% to 2.32%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 0% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 13% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 0% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 13% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 942 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

so far at least, i'm pretty sure AI has been net job-creating. this was not what i expected--although i was much less pessimistic than others, i thought by this level of capability we'd have seen some impact. it is possible this direction keeps going!

I'm 22 years old and Claude Code is deteriorating my brain. Every single day for the last 6 months I've had 6 to 8 Claude Code terminals open, waiting for a response just so I can hit 'enter' 75% of the time. And it's doing something to me. In convos with a couple of friends, it's been a point that's been brought up pretty frequently. None of us feel as sharp as we used to. I don't know if it's just us, or others in their 20s are feeling the same thing, but it's something I've been thinking about a lot. P.S. I know this is a problem with my reliability/usage of it, not Claude Code itself, but the effects are real nonetheless

I built my last project entirely with Claude Code. I didn’t write a single line of code by hand. It still took me nearly 3 months. Why so long and not a day or week? Because building serious software has never been just about typing code. Early on, there are tons of unknowns. As you build, test, and get feedback, you discover problems and requirements you couldn’t have anticipated. I spent a lot of time reviewing Claude’s work, not line by line, but at a higher level: the approach, architecture, and design decisions. I constantly challenged it, debated its choices, and pushed for simpler, more robust solutions. That’s software engineering. AI helped me bring my vision to life without spending countless hours typing code, wrestling with syntax, searching through documentation, and figuring out the mechanics of how to implement things. Without AI, building this app would have taken me 5-6 months if not longer. As I’ve said over and over, software engineering is not going away but AI is changing _how_ we build software. The tools are changing and the engineer’s role is evolving. And this is why knowing how to build good software still matters. You may not need to remember every API or piece of syntax anymore, but you still need to understand things like separation of concerns, coupling and cohesion, abstractions, data modeling, API design, error handling, security, performance, and testing. When AI proposes an architecture, creates an abstraction, adds another layer, or introduces a dependency, you need enough engineering knowledge to ask: Is this actually necessary? Is there a simpler way? Will this scale? Is this secure? Will this become a maintenance nightmare six months from now? AI can write the code. You still need to know what good code and good software look like.

CEO of Coinbase bragging that non-technical people are now using AI to ship production code. When a CEO says this, one of two things is true: either they don't know what production code is, or they're selling you a story. This kind of hype is how businesses end up in real trouble. The people shipping the code and the CEOs cheering them on won't be the ones held responsible when it breaks. They collect their paycheck either way. Users will find out the hard way, once unreviewed code has touched their money, medical records, identities, private messages, kids' data, legal documents, critical infrastructure. By then it's too late. Production code isn't a vibe.

I really miss those days when I used to put my heart and soul into creating courses for you. Every course was like a movie. The content, the editing, all the love and personal touches like the visuals, music, etc. And more importantly, knowing how many people I could help with each course... it got me so pumped and dedicated to the work. ❤️ I lived and breathed each course from the moment I woke up to when I went to bed. Even in bed, I was thinking about it. Just watched a few minutes of one of my old Python videos. It feels like a century ago! 😂 https://t.co/D9mhRpqbcY

Claude Code: "I was wrong. You're right on both counts". Only happens when you know what you're doing, review the generated response/code, ask the right questions and challenge the generated responses on technical grounds. Otherwise, everything looks perfect, until it isn't.

- What is Mosh's engagement rate on X?
- Mosh (@moshhamedani) has an engagement rate of 0.642%, based on the median interactions across 8 original posts from the last 30 days against 153,455 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.642%, Mosh sits above the 75th percentile of the 156,839 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @moshhamedani have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 87% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @moshhamedani post?
- Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.3 posts per day across the measured window.
