Early reading. We have captured 6 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 174 interactions against 108K followers, an engagement rate of 0.161%. Posts are seen about 31K times each, and 0.559% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 28.7% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.2 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 50% of days. Most posts go out around 05:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 6 posts sampled, 67% carry an image or video and 67% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 12K interactions, about 72x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #tigray, #addis_standard, #drone_strike. Only 6 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 05:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 67% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 67% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 352 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Clarity matters: Woyane is not just a political party; it is an ideology and way of life most if not all Tigrayans adhere to. To be Woyane is to revolt against subjugation and marginalization. It is to stand up for what is right. #StopWarOnTigray

The first strike occurred in #Hawelti Sub-City, Momona Kebele, around the St. Mary Church, where residential homes were reportedly targeted. The Tigray Bureau of Communication Affairs initially said two adults and two children were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. However, Ayder Hospital later said its Emergency Department received 13 casualties from a drone strike in Mekelle’s #Daero residential area. The victims, including both adults and children, arrived at the hospital at around 11:30 a.m. for medical and surgical care. A second drone strike occurred in the #Kuha area of Mekelle, residents confirmed to #Addis_Standard. No casualties were reported from that incident. https://t.co/CIVBHPDT9j

News Analysis: Latest #drone_strike hits humanitarian aid truck carrying 41 tons of food in northwestern #Tigray Abrhaley Girmay, mayor of Adi-Daero, told #Addis_Standard that the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. in Swudey village, in Hibret Tabia, between Adi-Daero and Adi-Nebried in northwestern Tigray. According to Abrhaley, the drone struck the area three times. The first strike hit a public road, followed by a second strike in cultivated farmland, before a third strike targeted the truck carrying humanitarian assistance to internally displaced people (IDPs) in Sheraro. Addis Standard also spoke to Birhane Gebretsadik, the truck driver, who survived the reported strike. “I was traveling from Mekelle to the Sheraro IDP center to deliver humanitarian assistance when I suddenly saw a drone circling in the sky,” Birhane said. He said the first strike hit the road, causing the area to vibrate and shattering the vehicle’s windows. https://t.co/ParBzoWerV

Is #Ethiopia at war again? Not yet. But the situation is becoming increasingly fluid. In this emergency episode of Conflicts of Interest, Prof. Clionadh Raleigh and ACLED's East Africa Analyst explain why Ethiopia is not yet at the level of the 2020–2022 war, but why the shifting alliances and support networks need close attention.
