A typical post picks up 15K interactions against 565K followers, an engagement rate of 2.67%. Measured over 35 original posts, its engagement rate beats 99% of 3,809 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 159K times each, and 9.46% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 28.1% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.3 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 30% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 35 posts sampled, 97% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 299K interactions, about 20x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Matt Van Swol's engagement rate beats 99% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,809 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 98% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 2.67%, Matt Van Swol sits above the 90th percentile of the 36,852 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 10% band, which runs 2.10% to 159.8%.

In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy. She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid. The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%. She handed out the checks herself. In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college. When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months. You've probably heard that part. Here's the part you haven't: The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top. Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave. She built her county an entire hospital. She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it. In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees. Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal. In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release. And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it. She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway. She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did. Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting in Charlotte NC after a man who planned MASS SH00TINGS at FIVE Charlotte NC schools was JUST LET OUT OF JAIL... ...just FOUR DAYS before those schools open for the year. Read that again. His name is Drew Owens, he's 31 and he's been arrested 6 times in Charlotte NC alone. Back in February 2025, police say he sent threats to five CMS schools, Hawk Ridge Elementary, Community House Middle, Ardrey Kell and West Charlotte High, and Garinger High. Investigators say he laid out actual mass sh00ting plans for them. He was charged with five felony counts of threatening mass violence on school property. On Friday night, he posted bond and by Saturday morning, he walked out. Charlotte school kids go back to class on TUESDAY. One mom said it was her number one fear: "If he gets out, when will he get out, and will we know?" Well, he's out, and it gets worse. His OWN FATHER went to police. He said his son had been harassing family, neighbors, and friends. Sending threatening letters. Sitting outside their homes. His father even said Owens went to West Charlotte High and photographed his car, police believe to try to lure him out. His own father took out a restraining order against him. One neighbor said she is "constantly in fear for my life." WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?!!!!!! WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

🚨WOW!!! A lady in Tennessee is being hailed as a HERO after she rescued a KIDNAPPED 12-year-old girl as she came running out of the woods, barefoot and covered in scratches, and collapsed into a ditch on the side of the highway, attempting to escape. Cars kept driving past her. One woman looked in her rearview mirror and thought: somebody will stop for that baby. ...BUT NOBODY DID!!! So she turned around. 🇺🇸 Her name is Jennifer Maxwell. She was driving home from her job as a healthcare caregiver on Sunday afternoon, on US-421 in Erwin, North Carolina. That's when she saw a little girl come out of the treeline, run down the embankment, and drop into the ditch, sobbing. Jennifer slowed down. She watched her mirror. She waited for somebody else to do something. Not one car stopped. So she turned her vehicle around, pulled up, and rolled down her window. "Baby, are you okay?" And the little girl said: "No. I've been kidnapped." Jennifer asked if she was serious. She was serious. She had no shoes on. Just a big T-shirt and shorts. Her arms and legs were torn up with scratches from running through the brush. She had been walking in those woods for TWO HOURS. Investigators say the man kept pushing her, grabbing her by the shoulder, forcing her to keep moving deeper into the trees. That 12-year-old girl got away from him ON HER OWN. She ran. She made it to the road. And then she needed one adult in America to stop the car. Jennifer got her inside, locked the doors, and called 911. She drove her straight to the Erwin Police Department. Then she took deputies BACK to the spot where she found her, so they could search the right woods. They found him in the treeline that night. Daniel Francis Gear, 38. Charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault on a female. Bond set Monday at $2.5 MILLION. She won't take the word hero. "I just thank God that I was there, cause if it was my daughter, I'd want someone to be there also." BE THE ONE WHO TURNS AROUND!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Two years ago, I wouldn’t have been caught dead at a Trump rally. I was a liberal, I thought Trump was awful. Tonight was a beautiful moment to remember just how far I’ve come in 2 years. Yes, I’m frustrated with a lot, but I’m reminded just how INSANELY GOOD we have it. Do you remember what it used to be like? Do you remember how bad it was? I remember screaming on X for the Biden administration to help Western North Carolina for MONTHS. All I got was silence. I was mocked by Biden’s FEMA and they called me a liar for showing what was OUTSIDE MY OWN FRONT DOOR. Do you remember that? I do. Do you remember when they called illegal immigration unsolvable? I do. Before Trump got into office, I had no idea it was even a big problem, I had no idea our country was completely invaded by illegals until I got on X, and saw the truth. We are so quick to forget how dark it was before Trump came into office. I’m guilty of it just as much as anyone. But the beauty of the Trump rally, was that he reminded me of all the things he’s accomplished, and how much crap I’ve taken for granted, forgotten about, and then gotten upset about the problems he hasn’t solved yet. And I’m worried that a lot of people have or will be so caught up in the bad, that they forget the good. And there’s so much good On a personal note… I live in a very liberal city, and it was such a uniquely beautiful experience to be surrounded by people who didn’t hate me or want me dead. There’s so many good amazing people that love America and want her to succeed. That alone made the trip with it.

🚨#BREAKING: A Democrat will now win AUTOMATICALLY after the ONLY Republican running for Mecklenburg County (Charlotte NC) District 1 dropped out of the race.... ...BECAUSE NO ONE WAS ARRESTED FOR FIRING SH0TS AT HIS HOME WHILE HIS WIFE AND KIDS WERE INSIDE!!!!! Local police SPECIFICALLY CONFIRMED the attack was targeted at Aaron Marin. Bullet holes can be seen in trees, cars, mailbox, and his kid's basketball hoop. Marin's ENTIRE FAMILY was forced to leave their home and Aaron says they live in, "constant fear." He says his kids no longer even feel safe to play outside and they are moving away. Nobody has been arrested. Nobody has been charged. Nobody has been named. Marin's family couldn't stay. They FLED District 1 entirely, which made him ineligible to run there. He withdrew in March and wrote that his kids "carry emotional trauma that deepens with each passing day without answers or accountability." Yesterday, the Board of Elections confirmed the county GOP never filed a replacement before the deadline. Democrat Morris McAdoo wins the seat unopposed. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY ZERO MAINSTREAM MEDIA OUTLET COVERED THIS??????!!!!!! REPUBLICANS ARE LITERALLY BEING SHOT AT AND THERE IS SILENCE FROM THE MEDIA!!!!!! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?!!!!!!

🚨#BREAKING:A young mother hiking on her birthday trip asked a stranger for directions... ...the man SL*SHED HER THROAT, punched her, pulled her hair, threw her down, and tried to DRAG HER OFF. She FOUGHT HIM OFF and survived only because a stranger opened her door to save her. Her name is Alexis Rowan, she's 27, a mother of two from New York City. She and a friend saved up for a birthday trip to Havasupai Falls, near the Grand Canyon. Eight miles into the hike, Alexis got separated from her friend. She saw a man, the first person she'd come across, and asked him a simple question: was this the way to the gift shop? As soon as she asked the question... she knew something felt off and turned to walk away. As she turned to walk away, police say he sl*shed her across the neck from behind. Then he punched her, pulled her hair, threw her down, and tried to drag her off, according to her mother. A Ring camera caught all of it. "I felt my neck and I thought, oh my God, I'm going to d*e. I can't d*e like this. I have my kids to go home to!!!" So she fought. She broke free and ran screaming until a woman opened her door and took her in. Ten stitches in her neck. Three in her hand. The man charged, 29-year-old Taylor Paya, a Native American and member of the Havasupai Tribe, was already a convicted FELON!!!! Court records show he served FIVE YEARS for a 2015 robbery, one that involved a female victim. His sentencing even ordered him into s*x offender treatment!!!!! A man with a documented history of violence against women was let out into society to prey on a woman AGAIN. WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!

🚨#BREAKING: A man nicknamed "THE WEST GEORGIA MONSTER" who has been r*ping women AND FILMING IT in metro Atlanta for THIRTY YEARS has finally been arrested. He TRAPPED them in his car, rigged the locks so they couldn't escape, and FILMED EVERY ASSAULT. He walked free the ENTIRE TIME. Prosecutors say Hart is a serial r*pist whose attacks stretch from 1996 all the way to 2022, across Douglas, Cobb, Fulton, and Paulding counties. He has been previously arrested MULTIPLE times for stalking and harassing women. Court records now link him to at least 13 women, but there are almost certainly more. In Douglas County alone, he's been indicted on 18 charges tied to 7 different women, including KIDNAPPING one and holding another against her will. Search warrants say he lured women into cars, then RIGGED THE LOCKS so they were trapped inside with him. When police finally arrested him, they say he admitted he had RECORDED all of his r*pes. Every one. So how did they finally get this monster? DNA. A cold-case rape from 2006 sat unsolved for nearly 19 YEARS... until a national DNA database matched it to Hart days after his arrest. One by one, the cold cases started falling. There is now a private group of survivors nearly 400 members strong. Yes, four hundred. There's a reason you won't see this story in the mainstream media...

🚨I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR ONCE!!!! Police have ARRESTED the two Black 13-year-olds who brutally ATTACKED a White man who feeds the homeless… …THEIR OWN PARENTS TURNED THEM IN!!! Police say the attack was “completely random” and unprovoked in an attempt to Get TikTok views. His name is Greg Medina, he is 48 years old. He works as a chef serving the homeless through Lutheran Social Services, he is also the sole provider for his 12-year-old daughter. After an exhausting week, Greg was sitting in the jacuzzi at his San Bernardino apartment complex, listening to a class through his earbuds. Minding his own business. Police say two people walked up behind him in the hot ton, one of them kicked him in the back of the head with everything they had, stole everything and ran. It’s all on video. Completely unprovoked. He went to the ER with a concussion, but because he’s the only one putting food on the table for his little girl, he could only afford ONE day off. Then back to work he went with his head still ringing. They could have easily k*led him, it’s a miracle, he wasn’t knocked unconscious and drowned in the Jacuzzi.

🚨#BREAKING: A man who spent 20 YEARS building a garden in Colorado is left in total disbelief after a Black man arrested DOZENS OF TIMES destroys it in front of his eyes. It took police 3 HOURS to arrive at his garden and by that time, it was destroyed. Police say the man is 42-year-old "Worku Woldemariam"... According to court records and the business owners, on July 27th he cuts down the American and Colorado flags outside a Douglas County Sheriff's substation, throws one in the trash, one down a drain. No arrests. The next day he smashes religious artwork at a small Aurora market with a rock. When the owner asks what he's doing, he says "I don't like him." That shop owner's words: "It's not safe anymore." He got a summons for criminal mischief, but police did not arrest him! Days later, police say he threw a rock through a Starbucks window and tossed PROPANE tanks around. He was arrested and two days later, released on bond. Two days after THAT, someone matching him smashed the windows of an ice cream shop on Colfax. And then there's Mr. King. A man who spent TWENTY YEARS building a beautiful garden. Police say Woldemariam tore the ENTIRE THING apart. You can see him get red-pilled in real time: "I have worked 20 years to get this to be nice, and then to have someone come in and destroy it." Back in 2013, this same man was charged with similar crimes, and was found "mentally incompetent" to stand trial. The case was dismissed. WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS.

What is Matt Van Swol's engagement rate on X?
Matt Van Swol (@mattvanswol) has an engagement rate of 2.67%, based on the median interactions across 35 original posts from the last 30 days against 565,371 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 2.67%, Matt Van Swol sits above the 90th percentile of the 36,852 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
