Ho avuto la fortuna di ascoltarlo tante volte dal vivo e nel 2003 ho avuto l’onore, da consigliere comunale a Milano, di contribuire all’assegnazione dell’Ambrogino d’oro alla sua memoria. Quando passo da Genova per lavoro, cerco di trovare il tempo di portare una preghiera a Staglieno. Non so cosa direbbe Fabrizio oggi. E soprattutto non voglio far parlare i morti per dare ragione ai vivi. Non mi permetterei mai. So cosa dicono a me le sue canzoni, la sua musica, la sua voce. Mi emozionano, mi fanno pensare e qualche volta mi mettono anche in discussione. Sapete però cosa mi preoccupa davvero? Non quello che è successo a me. In tanti, in tantissimi stiamo con Mario Roggero. Un padre, un nonno, un marito e un lavoratore per una vita, che arriva a 72 anni per essere mandato in carcere perché ha reagito a un’aggressione, a un furto, a una rapina nel suo negozio, nel negozio di famiglia, con moglie e figlia presenti e a rischio. Ritengo profondamente ingiusta questa condanna. Abbiamo combattuto insieme per una nuova legge sulla legittima difesa, che ha evitato sofferenza e carcere a tanti cittadini perbene, ma evidentemente non basta e bisogna allargare ancora di più il sacrosanto diritto alla legittima difesa di chi viene aggredito. E lo faremo. Evitando per legge anche il “risarcimento danni” ai parenti dei ladri feriti o uccisi in seguito al loro crimine. Per Mario adesso, insieme a tantissimi di voi, farò tutto il possibile perché gli venga concessa la GRAZIA. Un appello che rivolgiamo direttamente al signor Presidente della Repubblica. Una grazia per un uomo onesto, che a 72 anni non merita di condividere una cella con dei veri criminali.
