Alejandro Irarrázabal, el fariseo: Dice que no le gusta la política, pero defendía con vehemencia a Pinochet en plena dictadura militar. Dice que no es un político, pero en 1992 quiso heredar la alcaldía designada de su hermano, sacando solo el 1,9% de los votos. Dice que la política es transaccional, fue jefe de gabinete de Jovino Novoa en la UDI, y hoy es jefe de asesores del presidente Kast en La Moneda. Dice y dice, pero su propia historia desmiente sus dichos: sí le gusta la política, lo que no le gusta es dar la cara, dialogar y rendir cuentas.

Kast vuelve a generar indignación. Decir que un niño puede reemplazar el almuerzo Junaeb por "un sándwich" demuestra una desconexión total con la realidad. Porque el punto no es solo "comer algo": es recibir un almuerzo nutritivo, balanceado y pensado para el desarrollo de miles de estudiantes. Un pan no reemplaza proteínas, verduras, nutrientes ni dignidad. Recortar alimentación escolar mientras se minimiza su importancia es simplemente inaceptable. Seguro Kast pensaba en un sándwich de los que se compra él como merienda, de esos que vienen con jamón serrano, salmón ahumado, queso Philadelphia, mozzarella fresca, porque la única forma de entender lo que propone es que está pensando que sus privilegios son la realidad de todos los hijos de los trabajadores de Chile.

Ya existe una ley que prohíbe las apuestas ilegales; aun así, el dinero fluye sin control en las carreras de galgos. Ya existe una ley que prohíbe la venta de medicamentos ingresados al país ilegalmente; aun así, se venden medicamentos de este tipo para drogar a los perros. Ya existen leyes contra el maltrato animal; aun así, el maltrato y la crueldad son la base estructural de las carreras de galgos. Por todo esto, solo queda prohibir las carreras de galgos. #GalgosLibres

En Chile no puede considerarse tradición ni deporte una práctica que implica maltrato animal, la administración de sustancias ilegales para mejorar el rendimiento, apuestas ilegales y, en muchos casos, el posterior sacrificio de los perros. Las incivilidades, los delitos y el maltrato animal asociados a las carreras de perros justifican plenamente la necesidad de prohibir esta actividad en nuestro país. No sabemos si el proyecto será votado hoy, y no quiero generar falsas expectativas. Pero sí puedo asegurarles que he hecho todo lo que ha estado a mi alcance para que este proyecto llegara a la tabla, se mantuviera en ella y pueda ser votado lo antes posible.

¿Por qué el Partido Republicano se niega a terminar con ilícitos como las apuestas ilegales, venta ilegal de medicamentos, maltrato animal y otras incivilidades? Hoy no se votó la prohibición de las carreras de perros, por eso no queda más que seguir presionando y realizando gestiones para que siga en tabla y pueda ser votado. Galgos Libres 🐾

Con mucha pena por la partida de Fernando Kliche. Tuve el privilegio de conocer de cerca no solo a un gran actor, sino también a una gran persona. Siempre lo recordaré por su profesionalismo, su talento, su generosidad y calidez. Mis más sinceras condolencias a su familia, amigos y a todos quienes tuvieron la suerte de conocerlo y quererlo. Gracias, Fernando, por tu legado y por tantos momentos compartidos. Descansa en paz.

Presentamos un proyecto de ley que viene a corregir una deuda pendiente con las familias chilenas, un proyecto que establece un permiso laboral pagado de tres días hábiles cuando fallece un abuelo o el nieto de una persona trabajadora. Si como país avanzamos en reconocer incluso el duelo por el fallecimiento de mascotas, tras la petición de una figura relevante de la televisión -iniciativa que por cierto voté a favor- , no podemos seguir invisibilizando el dolor por la pérdida de un abuelo o un nieto.
