La mandataria sostuvo una reunión con los gobernadores y gobernadoras del país y el equipo de Gobierno con el Estado Mayor Eléctrico. Entre los anuncios realizados por la jefa de Estado destaca la recuperación de la planta termoeléctrica TermoCarabobo, la cual sufrió importantes afectaciones tras el doblete sísmico del pasado 24 de junio. “Ya hemos recuperado y quiero informarle al país, que hemos recuperado 300 megavatios de esos 600 que generaba TermoCarabobo”, antes de los terremotos, explicó la mandataria. Asimismo, señaló que la inestabilidad que ha presentado el Sistema Eeléctrico Nacional posterior al doblete sísmico se debe a esta afectación en TermoCarabobo. “Las plantas termoeléctricas no solamente generan fluido eléctrico, sino que también sirven como un calibrador de potencia para todo el sistema, sobre todo la comunicación entre el centro y el occidente del país”, detalló Rodríguez. La presidenta especificó que las fluctuaciones de los últimos días están relacionadas directamente a la pérdida importante de esos 600 megavatios y “hoy me complace decir que ya hemos recuperado el 50% y en las próximas semanas estaremos ya en proceso de recuperación plena”, acotó. Durante esta videollamada con los mandatarios y mandatarias regionales, la jefa de Estado también abordó el tema del fenómeno del Niño, que según las estimaciones de los expertos, se pronostica que este año sea “el Súper Niño”. “El Súper Niño se refiere a periodos climatológicos de mucha sequía donde las temperaturas incrementan pronunciadamente, donde se reducen los periodos de lluvia, se reducen las fuentes hídricas y fíjense ustedes lo que ha ocurrido en las últimas semanas, la temperatura sobre los océanos ha subido de 1.25 grados Celsius a 1.94 grados Celsius”, señaló. Rodríguez informó al país que discutió con los gobernadores y gobernadoras sobre ¿cómo afrontar este fenómeno climatológico? cuyos efectos comenzarán a notarse con el incremento de temperaturas a partir del mes de agosto y hasta principios del año 2027. Entre las primeras acciones, destacó, el plan de recuperación de la generación termoeléctrica a fin de que antes de que termine este año se cuente con 4 mil 800 megavatios adicionales. “Mientras estamos atendiendo la contingencia derivada del doble terremoto, nos preparamos para afrontar las potenciales consecuencias de una emergencia climática expresada en el Súper Niño. Prevenir los incendios, tener medidas preventivas para prevención de incendios, mitigación, seguimiento de los embalses, como sé que lo estamos haciendo, preservación de las cuencas hídricas y voy a pedir quizás el plan más importante, que es el plan de ahorro en el consumo de energía eléctrica y agua”, puntualizó.
