En el Partido Revolucionario Moderno hemos demostrado unidad eligiendo por consenso a nuestras nuevas autoridades. Felicito a mi querido amigo, el presidente Luis Abinader, por asumir las riendas de la presidencia del partido y seguir consolidando nuestro liderazgo. Pero hoy, al ver esta foto tan poderosa, también hablo con el corazón en la mano sobre Juan Garrigó, nuestro nuevo Secretario General. En la vida pública, a veces hay quienes confunden el entorno con el privilegio, pero la realidad es que el respeto en la política no se hereda, se suda. A Juan no le han regalado nada. Es cierto que ha respirado el servicio público desde la cuna, viéndonos a su madre y a mí echar el pleito por este país, pero el espacio que hoy ocupa se lo ha ganado con su propio esfuerzo. Es un joven brillante, formado académicamente para esto, que ha recorrido el país sumando voluntades, que se ha fajado dentro del partido y que ha demostrado su garra y capacidad de trabajo en la gestión de nuestro gobierno. En esta imagen no solo veo a mi nieto asumiendo un reto enorme al relevar a su madre; veo a un dirigente preparado, con el carácter, la visión y la fuerza de una nueva generación que está lista para seguir defendiendo nuestra democracia.
