Early reading. We have captured 5 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 88 interactions against 445K followers, an engagement rate of 0.02%. Posts are seen about 14K times each, and 0.64% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.09% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.27 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 13% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 20:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 5 posts sampled, 60% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.3K interactions, about 14x its own typical post. Only 5 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 201,787 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,901 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 20:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 0% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 60% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 287 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Forty years ago the first worm "escaped" containment and breached systems on the brand new Internet. It was illegal then and it's illegal now. If Anthropic and OpenAI are creating worms, labeling it "AI" doesn't let them off the hook. It's not Doom, it's Malware. Prosecute the creators, don't ban AI. "Oops" wasn't a defense for Robert Tappan Morris and it's not a defense now.

I was questioning my common sense when I traded my 3070 in for a used RTX 3090. And then I knew I'd gone totally crazy when I bought *two* DGX Sparks (spending my kids inheritance). And yet, today, running Hermes with Qwen 3.8 27B on one machine and DeepSeek V4 Flash 731 on the Sparks, all totally local, I think maybe I wasn't so nuts after all. We live in amazing times.

Hey @TWiT fans who live in Wisconsin or near Green Bay - we are going to Lambeau Field for a game this year. If we have a meet-up on Friday night in Green Bay, September 29th, at 6 pm - would you come say hi? Let me know if you're interested. I am trying to get a headcount.

I feel I've gone wrong somewhere. Everyone else's agents are starting their own message boards, hacking enterprise servers, coding first person shooters in a single prompt. Meanwhile, mine are correcting each other's pronouns. https://t.co/iq0h6DMDT0

I’m so glad we were at black hat for this. Literally the most important story in tech today. We are at an inflection point. We knew this would happen eventually but it’s here now and it’s both exhilarating and terrifying https://t.co/J2VXDMrubM

MacBreak Weekly listeners: One of our providers (Megaphone) was down for 17 hours yesterday which caused a problem with Apple Podcasts. Some listeners trying to download the show last night were told it was paid only. Not on my watch! It's fixed now. Try again and my apologies!
