Según datos de la Superintendencia de Pensiones quienes se jubilaron en 2025 y cotizaron entre 35 y 40 años alcanzaron una tasa de reemplazo promedio de apenas 29,1%. “Ese sistema que se impuso en los 80, en dictadura, después de 45 años y con datos públicos de la Superintendencia de Pensiones, uno puede demostrar que no sirve. [Carta al director - contratos por hora] Señor Director: Miguel A. Vergara (29 de agosto) defiende los contratos por hora señalando que beneficiarían a cesantes y a quienes buscan un segundo empleo. Es el conocido argumento de que “cualquier empleo es mejor que nada”. Si un supermercado contrata a una persona por 30 horas y esa semana entran menos clientes, hoy no puede simplemente pagarle menos. Con la fórmula propuesta, sí podría. La empresa ajustaría las horas a sus necesidades y el trabajador absorbería la reducción en su salario. A eso se le llama “flexibilidad”. Con la idea de que “cualquier empleo es mejor que nada”, prácticamente cualquier deterioro laboral puede justificarse con la amenaza del desempleo. Bajo esta lógica, y usando las cifras de empleo más recientes, si hoy la tasa de ocupación es de 55,9%, podríamos elevarla a la inédita cifra de 60,1% simplemente transformando todos los empleos asalariados de jornada completa del comercio en dos contratos por hora, naturalmente con sueldos mucho más bajos. Esto es, dividir empleos de jornada completa en empleos de pocas horas y contabilizar el resultado como creación de empleo. Y, de paso, el empleador encuentra una vía para eludir las 40 horas y el ingreso mínimo mensual. Negocio redondo.
