Los que sois más mayores, imaginad haber visto esto hace 20-30 años en prime time de la televisión: el presidente de EEUU durmiendo mientras su Secretario de Salud habla, tembloroso, acerca de las vacunas y cómo, ahora, tienen que recular debido al descontrolado brote de sarampión con cifras que no se habían visto en 35 años (EEUU declaró eliminado el sarampión en el año 2000). NO DIGAS QUE FUE UN SUEÑO La semana que viene cumplo 52. Una edad más que suficiente para haber vivido con escepticismo y decepción muchos mundiales. Por más que nos vendiesen la moto en la previa, sabíamos que otra vez iba a ser que no. Cuando eliminaban a España, en la fase de grupos, en octavos o como mucho en cuartos, solo me quedaba un consuelo: bueno, ahora iré con Argentina. Primero por Maradona, representante de lo mejor y lo peor del ser humano. Vivió una vida sin cortinas que le tapasen, y sin pelusa en la lengua. Me gustaría verle opinar sobre las pausas de hidratación o el descanso de media hora porque tiene que actuar Madonna y no sé cuántos más. Después la seguí por Messi. Nunca entendí la manía que le tuvieron a la que seguramente es la persona que más momentos de felicidad instantánea me ha dado en la vida. Messi es el mejor de todos los tiempos. Y no habrá otro como él. Adoro a Argentina por la forma tan excéntrica que tienen de vivir este deporte. Pero también la adoro por Calamaro, por Darín, por Cecilla Roth, por Campanella, por los Alterio, por Leila Guerriero, por Martín Caparrós, por Tequila, por Él Mató a un Policía Motorizado, por todos los amigos que vinieron de allá y nos dieron tanto acá.
