Gary Lezak engagement report
@glezak - 72K followers on X
Measured over 48 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 14, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 62 interactions against 72K followers, an engagement rate of 0.086%. Measured over 48 original posts, its engagement rate beats 45% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 7.6K times each, and 0.807% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 10.6% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 48 posts sampled, 90% carry an image or video and 17% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.5K interactions, about 24x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #clouds, #southerncalifornia, #timelapse.

Compared with accounts its own size
Gary Lezak's engagement rate beats 45% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 6 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 33% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.086%, Gary Lezak sits above the 25th percentile of the 213,098 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.025% to 0.147%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 90% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 17% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 90% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 17% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 383 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Here is a video from Jeff Penner’s son Skyler showing the rapidly developing thunderstorms east of Salina and northwest of northwest of KC. I will attach the latest radar as well. This will grow in strength and arial coverage in the next few hours. Let me know if you can see lightning!

Happy 90th Birthday to a Kansas City broadcasting legend — Fred Broski. I had the absolute pleasure of spending some time with Fred today, the day before his 90th birthday, which is Saturday. And as you can see in this video, Fred is still Fred — quick-witted, funny, positive, and apparently still pretty serious about making a good rack of ribs! In fact, he let me try three of the ribs, the best tasting and tender ribs I may have ever had! Fred has had an incredible career. He worked in Kansas City television for decades. But so many Kansas Citians will always remember him as the host of Bowling for Dollars on KMBC. The show became a phenomenon, running for seven years, and Fred was perfect for it. He had that rare ability to connect with everyday people, make them laugh, and make everyone feel like they were part of the show. Fred once described the philosophy that has carried him through life: “We should meet everybody with a little bit of happiness, whether you work on TV or you’re famous or not.” That is Fred Broski. Over the past decade, I've been fortunate to get to know him, and he has been incredibly inspiring to me. His positive attitude, his humor, his determination, and the advice he gave me during the past decade of my career was always so insightful, and he mad me laugh many times. At 90 years young, he's still making people laugh — and still cooking the ribs! Happy 90th Birthday, Fred! Here's to Fred Broski — a true Kansas City original! 🎂🎳📺 Fred Broski

We had a retirement party for Jeff Penner last night at Nick & Jakes. What caption would you give this one? Have a great Sunday. I hope to see everyone at the Head for the Cure 5k this morning! https://t.co/snLDAsDFRq

25 years ago, on September 11, 2001, I was the Chief Meteorologist at KSHB, almost two years cancer-free from my Extra Skeletal Osteogenic Sarcoma, and working the evening shift. But that morning, as the first plane flew into the World Trade Center, I was about to come on the air with my weather forecast for KFKF, the country music station in Kansas City. Randy Birch was the news anchor for KFKF, and I called him because I had just heard and seen on TV that a plane had possibly flown into the World Trade Center. He was aware of it, but neither of us had any idea what we would begin finding out just minutes later, and then over the next few hours, as we realized the United States was under attack. Andy was at work at Golden Oaks as a Behavior Disorder High School teacher. I tried to get ahold of him, but it took another hour or so before I finally could. Like so many of you, I remember those moments so clearly. The uncertainty. The disbelief. And then the realization of what was actually happening. That day changed our lives in so many ways. Today, 25 years later, I just want to remember and honor the first responders—so many of whom lost their lives—and all of the people and families who were affected, directly and indirectly, by the events of that day. It is difficult to believe that a quarter of a century has now passed. Yet for those of us who lived through that morning, so much of it still feels incredibly vivid. All airplanes were grounded by later that morning. It was a quiet calm weather day nationwide and with no airplanes flying overhead it was eerily silent outside the rest of that day. Do you remember where you were when you first heard the news and realized what was happening?

I rarely give high praise for sports or weather broadcasters. I am shocked a bit that Mike Tomlin is an instant star on Football Night in America. He just is so rarely comfortable, and believable. He is real and I give his first week an A+. Do you agree? #NFL https://t.co/M9FkxbWLEt

🐝 I need a little sympathy tonight! 😂 I was innocently walking Rainbow & Sunny when apparently a bee decided my left hip/lower abdomen looked like the perfect landing spot…or target! Yes, I had my shirt off as it is 91 degrees. 😳🐝 OUCH! I flicked the little guy away, saw the stinger and immediately pulled it out. So far, just a tiny red spot and a little sting. I think I’m going to survive. 😂 But I’m accepting sympathy anyway. ❤️🐝

Goooooooooood morning! Who got hit and who got missed yesterday? Some spots had over 2" of rain and others only a few drops. There are THREE cold fronts showing up in the next two weeks as fall approaches, and each one gets stronger. The first one is due to pass through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. So, tomorrow will sizzle ahead of the front. Let me know if you have any questions.

Goooooooooood morning. I got my workout in yesterday and accomplished a goal I have had all year as my workouts got more intense with using the best form possible. The goal was to lift the 65 lb. dumbbells and do a set of 10 flys. I did it! I think I could have done 70 lb. dumbbells. Not bad for a 64 year old guy. We have a video shoot today for Weather 20/20 and a couple other things we are working on. Maybe I will see you around KC today. Have a great start to your day! #workingout #healthyliving

- What is Gary Lezak's engagement rate on X?
- Gary Lezak (@glezak) has an engagement rate of 0.086%, based on the median interactions across 48 original posts from the last 30 days against 71,941 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.086%, Gary Lezak sits above the 25th percentile of the 213,098 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @glezak have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 45% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @glezak post?
- Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.83 posts per day across the measured window.
