An important meeting in New York with U.S. Ambassador to the UN @michaelgwaltz and my colleague, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, with whom I also held an important bilateral meeting. We agreed on significant steps to strengthen Israel-Morocco relations: upgrading our diplomatic missions to embassies and appointing ambassadors, expanding direct flights to include Moroccan airlines, concluding two important economic agreements by the end of 2026, and advancing high-level visits. All of this will happen soon, God willing. The relationship between Israel and Morocco is important and holds great potential for both our peoples. We thank our American friends for their important contribution to strengthening it. 🇮🇱🇲🇦🇺🇸

A short while ago, I spoke with the staff of the Israeli Embassy in London, led by Chargé d’Affaires, Chris Cantor, as they gathered ahead of Rosh Hashana. I thanked them for their dedicated work during challenging times and wished them and their families a Shana Tova and a happy holiday. I told our embassy staff that when they speak with representatives of the British government, they should always remember that standing behind them are more than ten million Israelis, the Jewish community around the world, and a proud history stretching back thousands of years. From this they should draw much strength. Israel seeks good relations and cooperation with Britain. But we will always stand firm in defence of our ancient rights in the Land of Israel and our national interests. Shana Tova!

I had a good conversation with EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean @dubravkasuica. I updated her on the positive developments in Israel-Morocco relations and on the outcomes of last Wednesday’s trilateral meeting in New York. I also proposed advancing joint projects involving Israel, Morocco and the European Union. We discussed progress on two important EU-led humanitarian projects in Gaza on waste water treatment, and waste disposal. I thanked Commissioner Šuica for her cooperation and look forward to continuing to work together in her important role as Commissioner for the Mediterranean.

I was pleased to once again welcome to Jerusalem the Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, @kayikwambaT, who is accompanying President Félix Tshisekedi on his visit to Israel. We held a wide-ranging discussion on relations between our countries, Israel’s security challenges, the implementation of the agreement between the DRC and Rwanda, and other regional and international issues. The DRC is a friend of Israel, and I hope that very soon we will be able to announce a significant step forward in relations between our countries. 🇨🇩 🇮🇱 @RDC_Minafet @Presidence_RDC

Glad to speak with Hungary’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister @_OrbanAnita. We discussed the close friendship between Israel and Hungary, ways to deepen our cooperation, and developments in the Middle East. I thanked Minister Orbán for her support, and that of her ministry, for the opening of the University of Debrecen’s first medical school branch in Eilat, as well as for Hungary’s hospitality in hosting the Israeli national football team’s home matches. I also thanked her for her warm wishes to the people of Israel for the Jewish New Year.
