Early reading. We have captured 4 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 4 interactions against 578K followers, an engagement rate of 0.001%. Posts are seen about 7.2K times each, and 0.049% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.24% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.8 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 50% of days. Most posts go out around 07:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 4 posts sampled, 100% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 9.7K interactions, about 2429x its own typical post. Only 4 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 205,152 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,894 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 07:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 0% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 100% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 682 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Bravo!

Le Monde recently sat down with me to discuss my book, New Spirit of Islamism, and its connection to the latest developments in Syria. Huge thanks to Nicolas Bourcier for his thought-provoking questions—his deep understanding shines through. I'm also thrilled that the interview features work by one of my favorite artists, Taner Ceylan. Merci @NicolasBourcier @lemonde https://t.co/lejchv4lGN

In an interview with @AJArabic, Erdoğa stated that EU membership is NO longer a priority for Turkey, citing Brussels’ lingering reluctance as the primary reason. This may be the first instance of his explicitly acknowledging this 'strategic deprioritisation'. Surely confirms what we have long witnessed in practice, yet the official admission remains significant. https://t.co/Shdm0NkyPa

VOMIT! Turkish politics has reached a new low. Close to forty mayors elected as candidates of the main opposition CHP have been arrested since 2024. A court removed the CHP’s elected leader and reinstated his predecessor, who never managed to beat Erdoğan. Then came the embarrassingly swift defections from the opposition to the AKP, whether through coercion or perfidy. Meanwhile, an investment fund scandal involving around $20 billion in assets and more than 500,000 investors has reached the senior ranks of the AKP. Oh, it smells in Turkey… And yet hardly anyone expects any of this to cost Erdoğan much. We have been pushed into a nihilistic state of mind about politics, where accountability itself seems increasingly implausible. Turkey’s political landscape has become more degraded than authoritarianism alone can explain. ALSO: A recent study looking at the relationship between societal polarisation and corruption across 153 countries offers one explanation. When voters come to fear the other side, they stop punishing their own politicians for wrongdoing, it argues. https://t.co/KrB4aewYiB

An extraordinary fortnight for the Kurds across three countries, and it moved in their favour. In Damascus, al-Sharaa received Iraqi Kurdistan's Nechirvan Barzani beneath a giant Kurdistan flag and posted his message in Kurmanji, the dialect of Syria's Kurds. Days later Mazloum Abdi and İlham Ahmad were in the capital, with the integration of the SDF and the Rojava administration into the Syrian state almost complete. In Ankara, parliament passed the framework law that lets some PKK fighters come down from the mountain, the latest step in the process that began when the PKK announced its dissolution in May 2025. The bill split the opposition and the Turkish public. The main opposition leader Özgür Özel freed his MPs to vote as their constituencies dictated and cast his own yes for peace, caught between a nationalist base that reads any amnesty as treason and Kurdish voters for whom it means a great deal. I think Özel's move was the best available to him. None of this is resolution. The law is narrow, and Qandil and the government still describe the same process in opposite terms, an opening move for one side, a closing settlement for the other. But public resentment is real and we will have to see if Erdogan will manage regulate it. Read together, though, these are small and consequential steps forward for the Kurds. I explain why in this week's column. https://t.co/x19seQBf9v
