A typical post picks up 134 interactions against 1.2M followers, an engagement rate of 0.011%. Measured over 25 original posts, its engagement rate beats 36% of 3,791 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 22K times each, and 0.604% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.82% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.93 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 30% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 25 posts sampled, 64% carry an image or video and 28% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 11K interactions, about 81x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #tourdescapitales, #euco.

Compared with accounts its own size

António Costa's engagement rate beats 36% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,791 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 38% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.011%, António Costa sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,654 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

This account posts most often around 11:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

I express my solidarity with Spain in the current situation of illegal migration in Ceuta. While third-country nationals in Ceuta do not enjoy free movement to mainland Spain or the rest of the Schengen area, Spain’s firm response, including ongoing accelerated returns, demonstrates our determination to protect our external borders, combat illegal migration, and dismantle criminal smuggling networks. I welcome Spain’s close cooperation with Morocco in addressing this shared challenge and ensuring swift returns. We will remain in close contact with the Spanish authorities in the coming days.

President @vonderleyen and I stand firmly with the @IntlCrimCourt, President Tomoko Akane and the officials who uphold its mission. The ICC helps deliver justice to the victims of some of the world’s most horrific crimes. To carry out this essential work, its judges and officials must be able to act independently and without external pressure.

For the second time in 24 hours, Romanian airspace has been violated by drone incursions. I commend the Romanian authorities for their swift and effective response. We stand in full solidarity with Romania and its people. The security of Romania is the security of Europe. We will continue to strengthen the EU’s security, resilience and deterrence, including along our Eastern border.

Last night, Russia launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine. During the attack, Polish airspace was also violated, underlining once again that Russia’s aggression is a threat to the security of Europe as a whole. My thoughts are with the victims of these attacks. The European Union stands in full solidarity with the Ukrainian and Polish authorities working tirelessly to protect and defend their citizens. We are stepping up our support to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence, including anti-missile and anti-drone capabilities. Europe will continue to stand united in the face of this aggression.

Thank you, President @RTErdogan, for the warm welcome to Ankara. The EU and Türkiye are strategic partners, and we are committed to strengthening our relationship. In a more challenging world, our partnership matters more than ever. Türkiye has been an important partner in addressing the crises in the Middle East and supporting efforts for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. We must also seize the renewed momentum to advance a settlement of the Cyprus issue through the UN-led process.

Russia’s attack on the Latvian Honorary Consulate in Sloviansk is a grave and unacceptable act. I strongly condemn this strike, which claimed lives and left many injured. The European Union stands in full solidarity with Latvia and Ukraine.

Just arrived in Kyiv for the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Proud to be here on such a significant day, underscoring the EU’s unwavering support. Ukraine is a free and brave nation. Its struggle is also our struggle. З Днем незалежності, Україно! https://t.co/DyKd4vfE0K

Delighted to meet PM Burnham yesterday evening on our way to Kyiv. We look forward to working together and writing a new chapter of the EU-UK relations. A closer cooperation is essential for European security and our shared prosperity. Our upcoming summit later this year will be an excellent opportunity to step up our ambition.

Thank you dear @donaldtusk for hosting the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, your hometown and the birthplace of the Solidarność movement. In the 1980’s, many doubted that totalitarianism could be defeated. Yet countless Poles refused to surrender their hopes for freedom and democracy. In 2022, many people doubted Ukraine’s resilience, courage and unity. Yet, Ukraine continues to resist and fight. But our vision goes beyond the war. We are already preparing Ukraine’s future. Reconstruction is not only about repairing destruction - it is about building back a better Ukraine.

Excellent talk with @ZelenskyyUa after a full day of meetings in Kyiv and a touching and inspiring commemoration of Ukraine’s independence. We discussed our continued support for Ukraine and the way forward. The EU has stood with Ukraine since the very first day of Russia’s war of aggression, and we will continue to stand by Ukraine’s side. Ukraine can count on us. I commended the work that is being done to fulfil the accession reform criteria, under very challenging circumstances, and encouraged Ukraine to continue on that path. EU membership is the best way to ensure strong, democratic and independent institutions in Ukraine.

What is António Costa's engagement rate on X?
António Costa (@eucopresident) has an engagement rate of 0.011%, based on the median interactions across 25 original posts from the last 30 days against 1,219,099 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.011%, António Costa sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,654 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @eucopresident have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 36% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,791 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @eucopresident post?
Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.93 posts per day across the measured window.
