من #نباتات_فيفاء نبات الوعلان يعرف محليا (وعلانة) و العلمياً (Commelina) هو جنس نباتي يضم مئات الأنواع من النباتات العشبية الزاحفة أو القائمة. ويتبع العائلة الوعلانية. (Commelinaceae) تشتهر هذه النباتات بأزهارها الرقيقة التي تفتح ليوم واحد فقط، ولذلك تُعرف باسم "زهرة النهار" (Dayflower). تتعدد أنواع الوعلان بشكل كبير، ومن أبرز الأنواع الشائعة والشهيرة في الوطن العربي والعالم : الوعلان البنغالي: (Commelina benghalensis): يُعرف بزهرته الزرقاء الجميلة، ويُصنف في بعض المناطق كعشبة ضارة نظراً لقدرته العالية على الانتشار ومقاومة الجفاف. الوعلان الشائع أو الآسيوي: (Commelina communis) موطنه الأصلي آسيا وانتشر في مناطق أخرى، ويمتاز ببتلتين زرقاوين واضحتين ومركز أصفر. الوعلان القائم : (Commelina erecta) نبات معمر شديد التحمل للجفاف، يتواجد بكثرة في الأمريكتين وأجزاء من إفريقيا وغرب آسيا. الوعلان المنتشر: (Commelina diffusa) يتميز بسيقان زاحفة ممتدة تغطي مساحات واسعة من التربة بسرعة. وقد أظهرت الأبحاث والدراسات العلمية الحديثة (خاصة المنشورة بين عامي 2023 و2026) اهتماماً متزايداً بنبات الوعلان (Commelina). فبعد أن كان يُنظر إليه كـ "عشبة ضارة" فقط، كشفت التحليلات المخبرية والدراسات الدوائية عن إمكانات علاجية وغذائية هائلة يزخر بها هذا الجنس النباتي وأثبتت تحليلات المختبرات عبر تقنيات دقيقة مثل (GC-MS) أن أوراق وسيقان هذا النبات تحتوي على مركبات نشطة بيولوجياً وفيتامينات عالية، وهو غني جداً بمركبات الـ Flavonoids (مثل الكيرسيتين واللوتيولين) والـ Phenolics التي تحمي الخلايا من التلف. وأظهرت دراسة أجريت على نوع Commelina diffusa أنه يحتوي على نسب عالية من فيتامين C وفيتامين B3، بالإضافة إلى معادن ضرورية كـ الكالسيوم، البوتاسيوم، الحديد، والزنك. أظهرت خلاصة النبات، بانه مضاد للالتهابات والآلام وتمتلك المستخلصات قدرة على تقليل التورم والالتهابات، وتخفيف الآلام، مما يدعم استخدامها التقليدي في علاج الصداع وآلام المفاصل. وفي دراسة حديثة اعتمدت على "علم الصيدلة الشبكي" والنمذجة الجزيئية، تبين أن مركب الـ Rutin المستخلص من نوع ( Commelina benghalensis) أظهر استقراراً وارتباطاً قوياً في تثبيط خلايا سرطان الثدي. وتساهم بعض المركبات في تحسين مستويات السكر في الدم عبر تثبيط إنزيمات معينة مسؤولة عن تكسير الكربوهيدرات وأظهرت الأبحاث نشاطاً ممتازاً للمستخلصات كـ مضاد للبكتيريا والفطريات، ومساعد في حماية خلايا الكبد من السموم. وتتركز البحوث الزراعية على دراسة القدرة الرهيبة للنبات على البقاء. حيث تبين علمياً أن أنواعاً مثل الوعلان البنغالي، تنتج نوعين من الأزهار. أزهاراً هوائية زرقاء نراها فوق الأرض، وأزهاراً أخرى "أرضية مغلقة" تنمو تحت التربة وتنتج بذوراً ذاتياً دون الحاجة لتلقيح خارجي، وهو ما يفسر فشل المبيدات السطحية في القضاء عليها نهائياً واهتمام علماء الزراعة بابتكار استراتيجيات مكافحة متكاملة. ويوصي العلماء حالياً بضرورة الانتقال من مرحلة التجارب المخبرية على الحيوانات إلى التجارب السريرية الواسعة النطاق على البشر للاستفادة الآمنة من هذه المركبات في صناعة الأدوية بشكل معتمد.
