No Dia da Independência, é oportuno reiterar que a verdadeira liberdade não nasce de ataques às instituições, mas do seu fortalecimento. Não há no Brasil “ditadura da toga”, tampouco ministros agindo como tiranos. O STF tem cumprido seu papel de guardião da Constituição e do Estado de Direito, impedindo retrocessos e preservando as garantias fundamentais. Se quisermos falar sobre os perigos do autoritarismo, basta recordar o passado recente de nosso país: milhares de mortos em uma pandemia, vacinas deliberadamente negligenciadas por autoridades, ameaças ao sistema eleitoral e à separação de Poderes, acampamentos diante de quartéis pedindo intervenção militar, tentativa de golpe de Estado com violência e destruição do patrimônio público, além de planos de assassinato contra autoridades da República. O que o Brasil realmente não aguenta mais são as sucessivas tentativas de golpe que, ao longo de sua história, ameaçaram a democracia e a liberdade do povo. É fundamental que se reafirme: crimes contra o Estado Democrático de Direito são insuscetíveis de perdão! Cabe às instituições puni-los com rigor e garantir que jamais se repitam.
