Con una inversión de los tres órdenes de gobierno y la sociedad civil, la Biblioteca Pública Gertrudis Bocanegra en Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, fue objeto de trabajos de restauración y rehabilitación para asegurar su óptima conservación. Las acciones de preservación estuvieron a cargo de @cultura_mx, a través de @bellasartesinba, y la Dirección General de Sitios y Monumentos para asegurar la protección del antiguo Convento de San Agustín, sede de la biblioteca, y del mural “La Historia de Michoacán”, de Juan O’Gorman, que ahí se encuentra. Además, estamos por implementar un proyecto para fortalecer el acervo y los servicios del recinto en favor de la comunidad local. Seguimos diversificando las inversiones para garantizar el acceso a infraestructura cultural de calidad en todos los territorios.

El Consulado General de México en Boston recibió la restitución voluntaria de 1,132 piezas arqueológicas del sureste de nuestro país, en un esfuerzo conjunto entre instituciones públicas y la comunidad académica de Nueva Inglaterra. En el marco de una política de protección y recuperación del patrimonio nacional en el extranjero, @cultura_mx y @SRE_mx concretaron esta restitución voluntaria, una de las colecciones más numerosas recibidas en los últimos años. El proceso de entrega voluntaria fue impulsado por el profesor y arqueólogo Jeremy Pilver. Este trabajo permite proteger la memoria histórica de México y crear conciencia sobre la importancia de frenar el tráfico de bienes culturales.
