A typical post picks up 608 interactions against 269K followers, an engagement rate of 0.226%. Measured over 20 original posts, its engagement rate beats 76% of 6,874 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 16K times each, and 3.87% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 5.86% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.2 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 60% of days. Most posts go out around 05:00 UTC, and Saturday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 20 posts sampled, 70% carry an image or video and 20% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 15K interactions, about 25x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #odisha, #jaipur, #justsaying.

Compared with accounts its own size

Arun Bothra 🇮🇳's engagement rate beats 76% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 83% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.226%, Arun Bothra 🇮🇳 sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,258 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.1% to 0.499%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 66,258 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 56,968 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 0% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 291 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Meet Achal, my nephew. After spending his childhood in Bengaluru, he moved to Kolkata, where he now runs a successful business dealing in high-end racing bikes. He used to miss the authentic South Indian flavours he grew up with in Bengaluru. When he couldn’t find a place in Kolkata that lived up to expectations, he decided to create one himself, a small restaurant near his office on Lake Road. “After all, Mama, all the hard work a man puts in is ultimately for good food,” he told me with a smile last evening. He made me try their soft and fluffy Thatte Idli, something I had for the first time. Throughout the meal, Achal excitedly explained every little detail: how they freshly grind their own masalas every morning, source Nandini ghee from Bengaluru. That he personally tastes and approves the sambar and chutneys in the morning before they are served to customers. I guess I’m also going to open an Odia restaurant in Jaipur after my retirement! 😄

One of our neighbours in the small town of Pilibangan had a small masala chakki in his house. He would grind red chillies, turmeric, coriander and other spices, supplying them to local shopkeepers. The chillies were always ground at night, with all the doors and windows closed, so that people wouldn’t complain. Still, while walking past that side, our eyes would burn, our throats would itch, While grinding he would keep his face covered. Even then, he would cough incessantly. But he had a family to feed. As a child I saw him lose his health rapidly. The man died of tuberculosis at around 55 years of age. For some the workplace itself is the biggest health hazard. https://t.co/hy91vQj2VP

Shefeen’s untimely passing is deeply personal. He worked with me as IGP, Crime Branch. A tech-savvy, dedicated, honest and highly capable officer, he was someone you could entrust with a task and forget about it. He would take complete ownership and see it through, without needing reminders or follow-up. Above all, Shefeen was a genuinely good human being. Gone far too soon. Rest in peace, my friend.

In Thali Restaurants in Andhra, you get curries, sambar, rasam, curd, chutneys and various kinds of rice: tomato rice, tamarind rice, curd rice. By the time you’re ready to leave, someone arrives with a huge bowl of plain White Rice. “Rice, sir?” “No, thank you.” They look genuinely surprised: “What kind of person comes to a restaurant and refuses rice?” 🙄

Ignorance is bliss in many different ways. Back in our times, you had to choose your educational stream in 9th grade. The toppers almost always chose science. Most children of businessmen went for commerce. And almost all girls, and boys from villages, from farming families, and those with the lowest marks ended up in arts. I was good at studies. Looking at my marks, teachers pushed me toward science. But I loved history and civics. I loved stories. Here’s the thing though. If my parents were educated, they would have listened to teachers more seriously. But they weren’t. So the decision was left to me. I chose arts. I read those books not because I had to, but because I wanted to. They became a hobby, not homework. Years later, I cleared UPSC with History and Hindi Literature as my optionals. Sometimes not knowing the “right” path leads you to find your own.

What is Arun Bothra 🇮🇳's engagement rate on X?
Arun Bothra 🇮🇳 (@arunbothra) has an engagement rate of 0.226%, based on the median interactions across 20 original posts from the last 30 days against 268,700 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.226%, Arun Bothra 🇮🇳 sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,258 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
