Early reading. We have captured 1 original post for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 289 interactions against 770K followers, an engagement rate of 0.037%. Posts are seen about 7.4K times each, and 3.91% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.961% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.03 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 3% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 22:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 1 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 88K interactions, about 305x its own typical post. Only 1 original post have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 36,759 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 106,964 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

This account posts most often around 22:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

This is an actual page on the White House web site. It reads like something written about a third world dictator. So embarrassing. I have not seen any branch of the federal government sink this low in my lifetime. https://t.co/zKS9i32tan

My mom is the obsessive family genealogist/historian and just told me that she came across a handwritten record of one of our female ancestors who died young in the 1800s. Not of TB, or pneumonia, or bronchitis or any of that garden variety stuff, no. Stated cause of death: “Toil”. Felt.

Heart shattered. I met Glen Hansard when he was opening for Eddie Vedder in Melbourne and we shared a stage. He was a soul-scraper of a songwriter, a breath-exploding powerhouse on any stage...he strummed the guitar like he was killing something; he played and sang with this whole body, he shook the audience awake. Rest in music, Glen, you inspired me, you will never be forgotten. https://t.co/9jtL3NNjh8

Man the hits just keep on coming this month. Dolly Parton. A lesson to me, as a songwriter, for sure. I was raised to see her as an object of scorn and ridicule - she was the butt of jokes among the mean and sexist fourth grade boys I ached to impress - and slowly, over the course of decades, I realized she was one of the most powerful and self-possessed songwriters, entertainers and bridge-builders of the last and current century. My friends and I talk about her a lot, about her careful navigation of the slippery slope in Trump’s America. How she sided with humanity. How she kept working hard and kept her sense of humor. How she refused to apologize for what she found beautiful. How she maintained her integrity, her very dolly-ness through time and never tried to impress anybody but her awe-struck inner child. She wrote countless bitching and tear-jerking tunes and she was never, ever mean-spirited. Never a hater. Fitting that I would get this news at the airport with my own instrument in hand, ready to go tour and try to use my voice for some semblance of good. Every songwriter who leaves, leaves a mark in our hearts and keeps traveling through time and space…she’ll last a long time, this one. My favorite Dolly Parton quote of all time: “Is that your real hair?” “If I bought it with my own money, then it’s my real hair." ….in other words: stop judging me, shut up and love me. Thank you for your service, Dolly Parton, to humanity, to the world of art and feminism and show business, to book readers everywhere… We will always love you. ♥️♥️♥️

Finished the last song of my new record tonight. It’s been five harrowing years. I cannot wait to play it for people. I’m going to start one dozen patrons at a time, in tiny piano loving rooms in Boston. This is how it’s meant to be heard. In community. https://t.co/CENQ9cJhfg

It was today. I took this picture as a record, because I keep track of things nowadays with photos more than with a journal or a calendar. Today was the day I found something out and I never want to forget it was today. So this photo is here to remind me. I probably won’t be able to write about this for years. But now I won’t forget what day. 📷
