A typical post picks up 222 interactions against 193K followers, an engagement rate of 0.115%. Measured over 30 original posts, its engagement rate beats 62% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 30K times each, and 0.742% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 15.5% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.4 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 53% of days. Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 30 posts sampled, 77% carry an image or video, 10% are part of a thread and 13% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 997 interactions, about 4.5x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Zach Griff's engagement rate beats 62% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 35% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.115%, Zach Griff sits above the 25th percentile of the 204,694 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 17:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 77% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 13% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 352 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

At long last, @AmericanAir has decided to install (4K) TV screens across its narrowbody fleet. The screens will support Bluetooth audio and feature USB-C ports. No word on how big they’ll be. This comes after AA spent years ripping screens out of domestic jets that had them. American says the installation timeline is “as quickly as possible,” but in reality, don’t expect TVs overnight. (We’re talking about airplanes after all.) Newly delivered Airbus and Boeing jets will get screens starting in 2028. Rest of the fleet will get them by early next decade. One thing that’s been clear for a while, but is once again reaffirmed by this move: Delta and United are years ahead of American when it comes to the premium strategy.

Epic news: @AmericanAir will equip its ENTIRE mainline fleet with Starlink. Starting in early 2027. Starlink will be free for AAdvantage members. It won't be available on regional jets, but still this is major. It's really going to be a United + AA vs. Delta war in connectivity going forward.

The award for the world’s worst/most confusing flight information display boards goes to DFW. I can’t believe these things are considered an upgrade. Most people I saw were squinting at the screens for way longer than usual. https://t.co/kKjC8WeYx4

Woah, this is the first time I’ve seen @united flight status get this detailed. Telling passengers when to expect the next update. Very cool. I’ve long said United tech is the best in the biz. This is yet another example. (Thankfully I’m not on this super delayed flight.) https://t.co/ggn9InUdnA

Delta’s longest domestic route is getting a lot shorter. The 5,095-mile flight from Boston to Honolulu had been planned to operate throughout the winter, but I guess bookings weren’t strong. The airline will now fly the route exclusively during the Christmas holidays, from Dec. 19 to Jan. 3. And that's it.

The award for the "weirdest seat on the plane" goes to these two economy seats on the retrofitted American 777-300. They have premium economy screens at an awkward angle with a half-cabin divider above them. Plus, water bottle storage. I actually think they might be worth trying.

Woah, @Delta is making a major move to become LAX's top airline: 2 new routes (red) and more flights on 7 existing routes (blue) were just announced. Delta will operate 200+ peak-day flights from LAX next summer. Los Angeles is the country's most competitive airport. Every major U.S. carrier has a hub there, and none of them outright dominates. At least not yet. If there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that Delta operates the nicest, most premium terminal at LAX (excluding TBIT).

Delta is adding a new U.S. city to its route map: Flagstaff, Arizona. It’ll operate twice-daily, year-round flights from SLC starting on June 7, 2027. SkyWest will use the CRJ-550 on the route. The only other airline flying to Flagstaff is AA. United pulled out in 2022.

Reading these numbers

What is Zach Griff's engagement rate on X?
Zach Griff (@ZachGriff) has an engagement rate of 0.115%, based on the median interactions across 30 original posts from the last 30 days against 192,766 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.115%, Zach Griff sits above the 25th percentile of the 204,694 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @ZachGriff have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 62% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @ZachGriff post?
Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.4 posts per day across the measured window.
