World Central Kitchen engagement report
@WCKitchen - 290K followers on X
Measured over 90 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 20, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 305 interactions against 290K followers, an engagement rate of 0.105%. Measured over 90 original posts, its engagement rate beats 62% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 7.1K times each, and 4.31% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 2.44% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 90 posts sampled, 99% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 8% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.7K interactions, about 5.6x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #chefsfortheworld, #chefsforukraine, #chefsforgaza.

Compared with accounts its own size
World Central Kitchen's engagement rate beats 62% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 85% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.105%, World Central Kitchen sits above the 25th percentile of the 157,233 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.022% to 0.128%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 99% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 8% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 99% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 8% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 553 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

When WCK's teams in Lebanon asked children in shelters what they wanted to eat, they would tell us the same thing over and over: burgers. This week, we granted their wish, serving burgers to families living in shelters in Byblos, Lebanon. “I haven’t had a burger in a really long time. I forgot how much I liked them. This one is really good!" one of the kids told our team. Moments of pure childhood can be hard to find during conflict, but WCK teams always work toward providing moments like this, in Lebanon and across the world. #ChefsForMidEast

WCK founder @chefjoseandres received the "National Legend of Ukraine"—one of the country's highest state distinctions—from President @ZelenskyyUa. The recognition comes as WCK marks an extraordinary milestone: 300 million meals served in Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022. The award recognizes individuals whose contributions have had a significant impact on Ukraine. José was honored for his longstanding commitment to the country and its people since Russia's full-scale invasion began. #ChefsForUkraine

John checks in from Kathmandu as a team heads north to set up kitchens closer to the epicenter of the disaster. The impact here is vast. "More heartbreaking than I can describe," messaged one team member who spent today delivering meals in affected communities. We'll keep sharing updates from Nepal where there is an incredible amount of work ahead. You can support the effort too at https://t.co/FTEW0zv6KW. #ChefsForNepal

Sonam, director of Pumpernickel Bakery in Kathmandu, and his team have been baking fresh buns through the night for WCK. Sandwiches — or the local equivalent — are one of the first things we carry into a disaster zone. We never go into a community without food to offer while we listen to what people need. These are made with sriracha, cheese, meat, and pickles: portable, and suited to the local palate. The perfect first meal for our teams to carry to families affected by this crisis. @pumpernickel.bakery #ChefsForNepal

Checking in from Gary, Indiana with WCK's Naomie and Mae. 📍 Last night, WCK served dinner to hundreds of families at City Life Center—with the support of Chef Lucero from the University of Indiana. Power is slowly returning to Gary, and as families begin to find their footing again, WCK will be right there with them. #ChefsForIndiana

WCK loads a truck alongside our local partner organization Nepal Scouts, who are helping us move north toward the hardest-hit areas — where, so far, we've been providing sandwiches, fruit, and water. This truck, leaving from Bidur, is being stocked with everything needed to set up a kitchen and cook a hot meal of veggie dal and rice from traditional, familiar ingredients. #ChefsForNepal

Mekh was at home in Bidur, Nepal, when she heard shouting outside. Suddenly, her son rushed in and told her they needed to evacuate—flooding and mudslides were sweeping through the village. As they escaped, Mekh's feet became stuck in the mud. She tried to move, but couldn't. Her son and their neighbors worked to dig her feet out of the mud, carrying her the rest of the way towards a local school as the water rose. WCK's #ChefsForNepal teams met with Mekh, who has lost her home of 40 years, her farm, and her important identifying documents to the floods. We served her a meal while she shared her story. When crisis strikes, our teams are committed to comforting impacted community members with a hot meal and a listening ear.

📢 Major update from Bidur, Nepal with WCK's Chris. The road heading North has reopened—and our teams are moving. After days of restricted access, WCK is working as fast as possible to get supplies to towns that have been cut off since the floods struck. Alongside our partners—the Nepal Chefs Association—we're setting up community kitchens in impacted communities to prepare meals as close as possible to the families who need them most. #ChefsForNepal

Today in Ukraine, WCK supported passengers on 21 trains delayed by five hours or more following Russian attacks across the country. With our partners at Ukrainian Railways, our teams provided food and water to people across the rail network. Dozens of trains were impacted, with some passengers stranded for up to 15 hours. As delays persist, WCK is monitoring train arrivals and coordinating directly with rail crews to make sure no one waits without food or water. #ChefsForUkraine

- What is World Central Kitchen's engagement rate on X?
- World Central Kitchen (@WCKitchen) has an engagement rate of 0.105%, based on the median interactions across 90 original posts from the last 30 days against 289,774 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.105%, World Central Kitchen sits above the 25th percentile of the 157,233 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @WCKitchen have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 62% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @WCKitchen post?
- Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.3 posts per day across the measured window.
