A typical post picks up 55 interactions against 203K followers, an engagement rate of 0.027%. Measured over 65 original posts, its engagement rate beats 37% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 2.0K times each, and 2.78% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.975% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.2 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 70% of days. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 65 posts sampled, 92% carry an image or video and 35% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 123K interactions, about 2238x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #thekingcenter, #mlk, #belove.

Compared with accounts its own size

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center's engagement rate beats 37% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 73% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.027%, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 92% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 35% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 529 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

I’m getting tired of the “Mamdani was 9 years old when the 9/11 attacks happened” defense. Yeah. And even if he’d been 42 years old, that still wouldn’t mean he had anything to do with 9/11.

VERY SPECIAL NEWS! The King Center is proud to announce A'ja Wilson as the 2027 recipient of the Center’s BELOVED COMMUNITY YOUTH INFLUENCER AWARD. Join us in celebrating A’ja as we present her with the award at the 2027 MLK, Jr. Beloved Community Awards in Atlanta on Saturday, January 16, 2027. Stay tuned for more information on how you can attend and watch the Awards. The BELOVED COMMUNITY YOUTH INFLUENCER AWARD recognizes individuals whose influence helps inspire, shape, and advance a more just, humane, equitable, and peaceful world for the next generation. To be a champion for humanity is to recognize that our influence is bigger than our accomplishments. It is to use our platform to lift others, open doors, inspire possibility, and help shape a better future. And when it comes to being an MVP for youth, A’ja Wilson is showing us what that looks like. A’ja is celebrated around the world for what she does on the basketball court. But her influence reaches far beyond the game. Through the A'ja Wilson Foundation, A’ja is helping young people, particularly young girls navigating dyslexia and other challenges, recognize their worth, develop confidence, overcome stigma, and understand that their challenges do not define their possibilities. Her commitment to education, mentorship, compassion, inclusion, and creating spaces where young people can thrive reflects the kind of influence that can change lives. From basketball courts to classrooms, from young girls finding their voice to young people around the world watching her lead, A’ja Wilson is demonstrating that true influence is about more than being seen. It is about what we help others see in themselves. We are excited to celebrate A’ja Wilson as an MVP not only in basketball, but in her commitment to young people and to a future where every child has the opportunity to know their worth and reach their full potential. 🏀 A’ja Wilson - 2027 BELOVED COMMUNITY YOUTH INFLUENCER AWARD RECIPIENT Congratulations, A’ja! #AjaWilson #BelovedCommunity #TheKingCenter #MLK #YouthInfluencer #WNBA @WNBA @LVAces

We remember Marcy Borders. May this image of her continue to shake us and remind us of the lasting trauma and devastation affecting those who “survive” machinations of mass murder. The former Bank of America worker was dubbed the “Dust Lady” after a photographer snapped a photograph of her stricken and caked with ash after fleeing the World Trade Center. Marcy battled addiction, severe depression, paralyzing fear, and sickness before succumbing to stomach cancer in 2015. Only a month into her new bank job, Marcy was at work in the North Tower on Sept. 11, 2001, when a plane crashed into the building. Instead of staying at her desk, as her boss had ordered, she fled the building and ran into the street with fellow survivors. A stranger pulled her into a building lobby just as the North Tower collapsed — and it was then that a photographer captured her terrified face in the photo that has since been seen around the world. #September11 #MarcyBorders #NineEleven #TheKingCenter

She doesn’t have to be connected to anyone you know or anybody you sympathize with when something happens to her. And you shouldn’t have to mentally or emotionally connect her with your mother, wife, sister or daughter to lament her being raped or violated in any way. She matters all by herself.

What is The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center's engagement rate on X?
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center (@TheKingCenter) has an engagement rate of 0.027%, based on the median interactions across 65 original posts from the last 30 days against 202,669 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.027%, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @TheKingCenter have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 37% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @TheKingCenter post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.2 posts per day across the measured window.
