الأهم من الانشغال بسجال المنتصر في هذه الحرب، هو مراجعة عميقة للوضع الإستراتيجي العربي ومنه الخليجي. هذه الحرب شهدت انهيارا فاضحا للجامعة العربية ولمجلس التعاون الخليجي، وعن بروز إيران كمهدد أساسي لدول الخليج، ولدول عربية أخرى مثل الأردن، وعن تخاذل دول عربية مهمة عن نصرة الخليج وتدعيم قدراته الردعية، وبالتأكيد كشفت عن أن الولايات المتحدة ليست ضامنا لأمن الخليج، بل أنها ربما أصبحت عبئا أمنيا حسب النمط الحالي، وأن المضي في موجة التطبيع مع إسرائيل يزيد الأعباء الأمنية ولا يزيلها أو يقلصها. وعدا ذلك فقد كشفت هذه الحرب عن انقسام عربي حاد حول هوية العدو، وعن خلل خطير في بناء السرديات العربية التي يراد منها توحيد الجهود الداخلية لمواجهة التهديدات، وأن إيران كان لها من يؤيد سرديتها حتى داخل الدول التي تعرضت لاعتداءاتها. ويمكن أن نضيف لذلك أن قدرة دول الخليج على التصدي للاعتداءات الإيرانية والضبط الداخلي وإدارة الأزمة كانت تدعو للاعجاب والتقدير، لكن ذلك لا يلغي التحديات الأمنية الخطيرة في الداخل أو من الخارج، لا سيما بعدما ظهر أن الطابع المسالم والمستند للتنمية والانفتاح العالمي والعلاقات الجيدة مع الجميع، كل ذلك لم يحم هذه الدول من العدوان، ولم يدفع (الأصدقاء) المفترضين لمساندتها خارج الأقوال. فرصة السلام هذه قد تكون دائمة أو مؤقتة، لكنها ينبغي أن تشهد بداية المراجعة الشاملة لما حدث، والبحث عن نظام أمني وإعلامي يعالج الثغرات الصعبة التي ظهرت.
