Sultan Baybars, Türk tarihinin açık ara en büyük ve en efsane liderleridir. Lakin ne yazık ki Fatih kadar, Yavuz kadar, Kanuni kadar, Attila ya da Timur kadar bilinmez. Anlatılmaz, tanınmaz ve değer de verilmez. Oysa mukayese ettiğimizde Baybars’ın hayatı, bu isimlerin her birinden daha sert, daha dramatik ve daha görkemlidir. Çünkü tarihte hiçbir Türk lideri, Baybars kadar sıfırdan başlayıp en tepeye çıkmamıştır. Baybars bir veliaht değildi. Soylu değildi. Arkasında hanedan yoktu. Vatanından koparılmış, obası yakılmış, anne babası Moğollar tarafından katledilmiş, kızkardeşleri Moğol askerlerinin tecavüzüne uğramış garip kimsesiz aslı çoban olan bir Kıpçak Türküydü. Hikayenin başlangıcında ailesi soysuz Moğollar tarafından katledildikten sonra Baybars, zincire vurulup Şam'da köle pazarında mal gibi satıldı. Hem de Arap topraklarına. Bir insanın düşebileceği en dip yerden bahsediyoruz. Cengiz Han’ın açtığı Moğol yolu, fetih değil vahşet yoluydu. Türk yurtları yağmalandı, İslam şehirleri yakıldı. Zulüm Cengiz ile de bitmedi torunu soysuz Hülagü ile de devam etti. Nice Türk ailesi bu soysuz tarafından katledildi. Nice ak saçlı nice Türk çerisi, Moğolların işkenceleri ile uçmağa vardılar. Herkes Moğollardan köpek gibi korkuyordu. Baybars ise bu korkuyu çocukken yaşamıştı. O yüzden diz çökmeyi değil, vakar ile metanet ile intikam alacağı günü beklemeyi seçti. Köle olarak girdiği Memlük ordusunda sadece kılıç kullanmadı. Sabrı, zekâyı ve devlet aklını öğrendi. Her talimde güçlendi, her savaşta sertleşti. Bozkırın Kıpçak çocuğu disiplinle birleşti. Velhasıl köle, asker oldu. Asker, komutan oldu. Komutan, sultan oldu. 1260’ta Ayn Calut’ta, tarihin akışı değişti. “Yenilmez” denilen Moğol orduları, Baybars’ın sahte ricat taktiğiyle tuzağa çekildi. Bozkır savaşını bozkırın Kıpçak evladı yönetti. Moğollar ilk kez darmadağın edildi, komutanları öldürüldü, efsaneleri gömüldü. Cengiz Han’ın korku mirası tam olarak orada çatladı. Hülagü’nün hayalleri çölde kaldı. Baybars, Türk’e ve İslam’a yapılanın intikamını orada aldı. Moğol elçileri tehditkâr mektuplarla geldiğinde Baybars diplomasiyle cevap vermedi. O elçilerin kafaları kesildi ve Kahire surlarına asıldı. Baybars sadece Moğolları ezmedi. Haçlıları da tarihten sildi. Fransız Kralı 9. Louis’i bütün Haçlı ordusuyla birlikte Mısır’da yok etti. Kudüs’ten sonra Haçlıların elindeki en büyük şehir olan Antakya’yı aldı. Krak des Chevaliers gibi “alınamaz” denilen kaleleri düşürdü. Tapınak Şövalyeleri dâhil olmak üzere en güçlü Haçlı kuvvetlerini parçaladı. Adana’da kurulu Ermeni Krallığı’nı ezdi. Suriye’yi Moğollardan geri aldı. Yetmedi, Anadolu’ya girdi ve Kayseri’de Moğolları ikinci kez yere serdi. Yere sermek ne kelime moğol ordusunu perişan etti. Yazarken insan yoruluyor. Terminatör gibi adam. Adeta ikinci bir Halid bin Velid. Böyle bir hayat hikâyesi Batı’da çıksaydı bugüne kadar elli tane filmi yapılmıştı. Ama Baybars’ı bugün doğru düzgün sahiplenen tek yer Mısır oldu. Bu konuya Türk dizi-film yapımcıları kesinlikle el atmalı. Baybars, pazarda yok pahaya satılmış bir köleydi. Lakin yeteneğiyle, zekâsıyla, iradesiyle ve intikamın ateşiyle Mısır tahtına oturdu. Onu yurdundan eden soysuz Moğolları, Ayn Calut’ta gömdü, Elbistan Ovası’nda perişan etti. Haçlıları kutsal topraklardan neredeyse tamamen sildi. Ruhu şad olsun. Her Türk evladına önder olsun, iz olsun.

Bu akşam Sümela Manastırı son ziyaretçisi gezip çıkana kadar kapılarını kimseye kapatmayacak. 15 Ağustos Hz.Meryem’in göğe kabul kutlamaları dolayısıyla bugün Sümela‘da öğleye kadar ayin vardı. Bu sebeple öğleye kadar ziyarete kapalıydı. Öğleden sonra ziyaretçi girişi başladığı için yoğun bir kalabalık oluştu.

Sultan Abdülmecid, Sultan Abdülaziz ve 2.Abdülhamit’in çok sevdiği, nişanlar verdiği Rus asıllı Ermeni bir ressamdı. İstanbul ve Karadeniz Kolleksiyonunu Sultan Abdülaziz satın almıştı.
