A typical post picks up 2.3K interactions against 255K followers, an engagement rate of 0.89%. Measured over 80 original posts, its engagement rate beats 92% of 19,932 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 13K times each, and 17.6% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 5.04% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.7 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 80 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 98% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 5.2K interactions, about 2.3x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #flashbackfriday, #rescueversary, #worldrhinoday.

Compared with accounts its own size

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's engagement rate beats 92% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (19,932 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 100% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.89%, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust sits above the 75th percentile of the 201,787 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 25% band, which runs 0.672% to 2.54%.

This account posts most often around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

This account's posting mix compared with catalog-wide effects

  • 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 98% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 604 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Kenya is rewriting its rhino story – and every orphan we rescue helps write the next chapter. 🦏 We’ve successfully hand-raised 20 orphaned black rhinos, with many going on to raise their own offspring in the wild. Today, four remain in our care: Maxwell, Apollo, Chamboi and little Tytan. This #WorldRhinoDay, help give the next generation a future in the wild: https://t.co/M9EAzYcXPu

Happy first rescueversary to darling Pips! Our plucky little giraffe folded right into Kaluku life – this first clip was taken shortly after her rescue – and remains just as comfortably settled today. Her rescue was quite an ordeal. After losing her mother, Pips spent several days fending for herself, furtively appearing for water before evaporating back into the bush. By the time we caught up with her, she was running on her very last reserves. A year on, ‘Pipsi’, as she's knows to her Keepers, is thriving – and there is so much more to come.  Adopt Pips and support her journey back to the wild: https://t.co/PhHUL6MgVg

Happy Rescueversary, Chamboi! 🦏 Three years ago today, Chamboi was rescued as a newborn, found alone beside a waterhole in Tsavo. How he came to be orphaned was never fully established. As a black rhino, one of the world’s most critically endangered species, his survival was far from guaranteed. Now, Chamboi begins each morning with a long drink at his favourite water trough and takes life at his own pace. He naps in the shade, wallows in the mud, and waits expectantly for his Keepers to shovel cool soil over his back. By any measure, he is doing very well. As we rarely know the exact birthdates of the orphans we rescue, we celebrate the day we offered them a second chance after being orphaned: their rescueversary. Meet Chamboi: https://t.co/NW8OU4JJQa

Time for a Tytan update! Our young black rhino is growing fast – nearly as tall as his best friend Notty the zebra now, and a good deal wider. The two are rarely apart. Notty has appointed herself Tytan’s protector, standing watch while he dozes through the warmest part of the day, as black rhinos do. Any baboon, impala or warthog that wanders too close gets firmly seen off, while Tytan remains serenely unbothered. Discover how Tytan came to need our help, and all that has happened since, at: https://t.co/wMoRF44Dzp

Wangalla never misses evening tea with the Keepers – and she even brings her own provisions! She pays her respects, grabs a bite, takes a seat and then carries on with her evening rounds. It all began when she was a neonate, after we realised she was far too restless to settle in her stable at dusk. Now, she has free run of the compound until bedtime – whenever she decides that might be! Discover Wangalla’s rescue story and support her care through an adoption: https://t.co/loS0hJV6JZ

Four years ago today, we rescued Mwinzi at the height of the drought. He was barely alive, a comatose calf dwarfed by the parched landscape. Then he chomped down on his rescuer’s finger – and we knew there was life in him yet! On his fourth #Rescueversary, we recognise just how far Mwinzi has come. Now a sturdy, sunny young bull, he has graduated to Ithumba, where he is taking the next steps on his journey back to the wild.  Learn more: https://t.co/jUSjBrTUNJ

Korbessa was just days old when KWS rangers found her at first light, staring up at them from the bottom of a well on the boundary of Meru. She took her subsequent rescue in her stride – after fluids from the vet, she fell into such a deep slumber that she had to be woken to board the plane. At our neonate unit in Kaluku, the newborn nicknamed ‘our little frog’ due to her signature pose when lying down was entrusted to Keeper Joseph, and this footage shows exactly what that meant: wherever he walked, she followed, a tiny shadow with outsized confidence. She came to know every Keeper in time – but Joseph remains a firm favourite. This #FlashbackFriday, discover her story: https://t.co/DGxl9ikht2

This is the impact of one life saved – a beautiful family of elephants, thriving in the wild. We rescued Nasalot 25 years ago after ivory poachers killed her mother. She became one of the founding orphans at Ithumba and has since been a friend, mentor, matriarch and mother to so many. Today, she leads an ex-orphan herd and has three babies of her own – Nusu, Noah and Nala. Nasalot’s story is possible because of supporters like you. ❤️ https://t.co/CooVpdJj7e

Walking down memory lane with Chamboi the orphaned rhino. 🦏 Three years ago today, this critically endangered black rhino calf arrived at Kaluku after being abandoned as a newborn. Day by day, step by step, the tiny chap has blossomed into a very impressive adolescent. We’ve already walked a long way with Chamboi, but there is still much to come. When grown, he will return to the Tsavo ecosystem, where he will help Kenya’s black rhino population continue to grow. Adopt Chamboi and support his journey back to the wild: https://t.co/NW8OU4JJQa

Twelve years ago, Ndotto arrived at our Nursery as the smallest elephant we had ever rescued – a premature newborn from the Ndoto Mountains, weighing barely 40kg and flown in wrapped in a blanket. Today, he is a wild-living bull. This dry season, Ndotto has been our most faithful visitor to the Voi stockades, where he reclaimed his place in the wild. He often waits quietly at the water trough for the Keepers to wake at dawn. On warm afternoons, he stretches out beside the stockades where he grew up, ears relaxed, his trunk reaching over to investigate the camera. To be able to give Ndotto a second chance when he needed it most, and then watch him flourish into a wild bull, is exactly what our Orphans’ Project is all about. What is Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's engagement rate on X?
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (@SheldrickTrust) has an engagement rate of 0.89%, based on the median interactions across 80 original posts from the last 30 days against 254,721 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.89%, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust sits above the 75th percentile of the 201,787 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @SheldrickTrust have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 92% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (19,932 accounts), which puts it in the top 10% for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @SheldrickTrust post?
Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.67 posts per day across the measured window.
