Early reading. We have captured 3 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 417 interactions against 595K followers, an engagement rate of 0.07%. Posts are seen about 5.2K times each, and 8.03% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.873% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.33 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 23% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 06:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 3 posts sampled, 67% carry an image or video and 33% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 2.6K interactions, about 6.2x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #khairpur, #alimuradkhantalpur, #benazirbhutto. Only 3 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

What follows below is a case study in how fake news is manufactured, amplified, and consumed in the age of social media with total impunity. A fabricated story is created, shared, debated, and rapidly spread across platforms. Within hours, thousands engage with it, attracted by the scandal, outrage, and controversy it generates. In the process, reputations are damaged, public institutions are undermined, political leaders are vilified, and public trust is eroded. Then, as facts gradually emerge and expose the story as entirely false, those responsible quietly disappear from the conversation. There is no accountability, no apology, and no acknowledgment of the harm caused. At most, a post is deleted and the perpetrators move on. For a brief moment, they assume the roles of judge, jury, and executioner; when proven wrong, they simply walk away as though none of it ever mattered. Five days ago, on 29th June, a self-proclaimed journalist, an account named ‘Asma’ , circulated a fabricated and engineered story on #Threads, claiming that the #PPP government had spent Rs. 80 billion on a #zoo in #Khairpur—my constituency—that did not even exist. Without presenting a shred of evidence, she brazenly used the claim as an opportunity to make derogatory remarks about the #PakistanPeoplesParty (PPP), our leadership, and our #Sindhi identity. Unsurprisingly, no proof accompanied the allegations because none existed. The video was subsequently shared on X (formerly Twitter) by another account whose activity appears to be aligned with the #PMLN. The misinformation was then amplified by the #Instagram page #DialoguePakistan and other social media accounts, some of which accompanied the false story with photographs of PPP Chairman @BBhuttoZardari alongside the so-called journalist. The story was entirely false, defamatory, and clearly designed to target the #PPP, its leadership snd Sindh Government. In response, the #MunicipalCommittee (MC) #Khairpur issued an official press statement and lodged a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (#NCCIA). Today, almost all of the accounts involved—most notably person who initiated the false narrative—have deleted their posts. While the damage caused by misinformation cannot always be fully undone, this outcome demonstrates the importance of challenging falsehoods with facts. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the #PPP social media activists, especially the #Khairpur team, whose tireless efforts over the past several days played a crucial role in exposing this fabrication. Through their persistence, dedication, and commitment to the truth, every major platform and individual involved in spreading this misinformation was compelled to remove the false content. Their work serves as a reminder that while lies may travel fast, determined and collective efforts can still ensure that the truth prevails. However, while the posts may have been deleted, the damage caused to the party, its leadership, and public institutions cannot simply be undone. Falsehoods were spread widely, reputations were attacked, and public opinion was deliberately manipulated. The individuals responsible have chosen to quietly erase their posts, apparently out of fear of legal consequences rather than any genuine recognition of the harm they caused. An apology would be welcome, &I sincerely hope those involved have the decency to offer one. But the larger question remains: should those who knowingly concoct and disseminate fake news be allowed to escape accountability merely by deleting a post? The question then is how effective are the PECA laws in checking lethal misinformation. If fake news carries no consequences, then the cycle of fabrication, outrage, and deception will continue unchecked, to the detriment of our public discourse and democratic institutions. As a legislator I hope to pursue these questions in the parliament and in the committees in due course. #FakeNewsAlert

I am deeply grieved to learn of the passing of Mir George #AliMuradKhanTalpur II, the last ruler of the former princely State of #KhairpurMirs which is now one of the largest districts in #Sindh. Ascending to gaddi of #Khairpur in 1947, when he was only 14 years of age, #MirAliMurad peacefully and with great dignity over saw the transition between a royal legacy and the modern history of #Sindh and #Pakistan. He signed the instrument of accession and finally state merger with #Pakistan in 1955. Educated at #AitchisonCollege and the #UniversityofCambridge, Mir Ali Murad was humble, gentle, extremely private but with an unwavering sense of public duty, and deep commitment to the welfare of the former state citizens. Under his stewardship, #KhairpurMirs earned recognition as a progressive princely state, championing free education, universal healthcare, social welfare programs, agricultural development, and industrial modernization, laying foundations that improved the lives of countless citizens. The #Talpur legacy is a powerful one and lives in historical memory of the people of #Khairpur. Schools, canals, shifakhanas and our unique architectural and natural heritage, the #KotDiji Fort, #FaizMahal, #SheeshMahal and #WhitePalace and #Mehrano bear witness to the their timeless contributions. The last ruler’s passing formally closes a chapter in the history of Khairpur, and even #Sindh and #Pakistan. My sincere condolences to Prince #MehdiRazaTalpur, his family and to the people of #KotDiji who love and revere the #Talpur family

My salaam to the courageous and politically aware people of #GilgitBaltistan. The #PakistanPeoplesParty has led the reform agenda in #GB, first by #ShaheedZulfiqarAliBhutto in the 70s, then in the 1990s by #ShaheedBenazirBhutto and lastly by #PresidentAsifAliZardari in 2000s. Our Chairman, @BBhuttoZardari is a visionary, and people-centric leader. He is championing more rights, more decentralization and true empowerment of people of #GB. Under his dynamic leadership, #PPP promises pioneering development, technological depth, more jobs, elevating education, providing modern healthcare, and empowering the youth. I appeal to all the voters -every man, woman, elder, and the youth of GB: stand with our young leader, stand with rights, with equality. Support the #PPP candidates and vote for the #Teer. #7thJune #GBmeinTeerChaleyGa Jeay Bhutto! Jeay Pakistan! 🇵🇰 🏹
