A typical post picks up 897 interactions against 3.7M followers, an engagement rate of 0.024%. Measured over 37 original posts, its engagement rate beats 47% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 66K times each, and 1.36% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.80% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 77% of days. Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 37 posts sampled, 24% carry an image or video and 38% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 20K interactions, about 22x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Chuck Schumer's engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 56% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.024%, Chuck Schumer sits above the 25th percentile of the 204,956 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

This account posts most often around 17:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 24% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 38% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 352 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

🚨 BREAKING: In a major loss for voters, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to allow the Trump administration to initiate voter roll purges using a flawed database involving Americans' private data. The ruling will disproportionately impact naturalized citizens who've been wrongly flagged in the system.

Earlier this evening, an individual disrupted Shabbat services at Central Synagogue in Manhattan. As synagogue security was escorting him out, he struck a member of the congregation, damaged synagogue property, and then spit at and headbutted a member of the security team. An NYPD sergeant working a paid detail at the synagogue immediately stepped in and took the individual into custody. I have spoken with the rabbi of the synagogue, and I’m relieved that no one was seriously injured. Those who were hurt were evaluated at the scene and are doing well. There are no known additional threats at this time, and additional NYPD resources have been deployed to the synagogue. The investigation is ongoing. I understand the sanctity of this space and its meaning for congregants. Central Synagogue is where I grew up. In joy and in sorrow, it has always been a place of comfort and peace. What happened there tonight is deeply painful. A place of worship should never be a crime scene.

The Trump family's corruption could not get any more shameless. On the same day Trump shamefully blamed Ukraine for high gas prices caused by his own war, it comes out that a Russian oligarch with ties to Putin footed the bill for Don Jr's wedding expenses. More evidence that the Trumps are in Putin’s pocket.

Donald Trump is illegally stealing $810 million from programs that support education, small business, and clean air. All while tripling his own net worth and spending billions more on ballrooms, reflecting pools, and an illegal war nobody asked for. He is the most corrupt, out of touch President in our nation’s history. Senate Democrats will pursue every avenue to ensure that these funds are distributed as the law demands.

Donald Trump has made clear that he wants to mess with our elections. We must take nothing for granted. That’s why Senate Democrats announced today that we have recruited and trained more than 100 Senate staff as official congressional election observers. They will serve as the Senate’s eyes and ears on the ground in closely contested Senate races. Our elections have always been fair, safe, and secure. We’re committed to keeping it that way. https://t.co/s6grInBkGo

Trump's attempts to rig the midterms and block tens of thousands of eligible voters just days before the election REEK of desperation. Our elections are free and fair, and @SenateDems will ensure they stay that way. https://t.co/P7LZiXJgwH

Reading these numbers

What is Chuck Schumer's engagement rate on X?
Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) has an engagement rate of 0.024%, based on the median interactions across 37 original posts from the last 30 days against 3,682,100 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.024%, Chuck Schumer sits above the 25th percentile of the 204,956 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @SenSchumer have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @SenSchumer post?
Most posts go out around 17:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.3 posts per day across the measured window.
