SUGIZO engagement report
@SUGIZOofficial - 232K followers on X
Measured over 32 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 30, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 2.6K interactions against 232K followers, an engagement rate of 1.12%. Measured over 32 original posts, its engagement rate beats 94% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 77K times each, and 3.34% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 33.4% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 70% of days. Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 32 posts sampled, 81% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 47% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 28K interactions, about 11x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #sugizo, #tmf2026, #cdq.

Compared with accounts its own size
SUGIZO's engagement rate beats 94% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 77% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 1.12%, SUGIZO sits above the 75th percentile of the 205,152 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 25% band, which runs 0.678% to 2.55%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 81% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 47% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 81% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 47% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
- Its average post runs 486 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Today, September 21, is the International Day of Peace, established by the United Nations. It is a day created in the hope that, even if only for these 24 hours, the world would lay down its weapons and stop fighting. Yet in 2026, we may be facing a reality that is the complete opposite of that hope. The United States, Israel, Russia, China, and North Korea—major powers and states pursuing militaristic policies—are attempting to resolve differences in ideology and opinion through force and violence. They continue to justify intimidation, invasion, and the taking of what belongs to others, trampling on the dignity and human rights of people in other nations while innocent civilians continue to lose their lives. Is that not, in itself, a grave crime? I sincerely ask that this way of thinking and acting come to an end as soon as possible. Japan's current government should not simply follow this course and become caught in the endless cycle of hatred and anger. Now, more than ever, Japan must uphold the peace it has maintained since the end of World War II, and protect the Constitution of Japan, which places the highest value on peace and fundamental human rights. There is no doubt that humanity possesses an instinct toward conflict. Anger and hatred have too often driven people to kill one another. The history of civilization is, in many ways, also a history of war. I understand that, at present, maintaining a certain level of defensive capability remains necessary. But rather than surrendering ourselves forever to these destructive instincts, we must rise above our violent nature and our bloodstained history to create a future built on peaceful, cooperative coexistence. We must not allow ourselves to be drawn into the mentality of militaristic nations or aggressive nationalism. We must not allow ourselves to be swept away by it. My mentor, Ryuichi Sakamoto, once said: "War is the result of failed diplomacy." Before governments devote themselves to expanding military capabilities and spending enormous amounts of taxpayers' money on armament, should they not first exhaust every possible diplomatic effort and seek mutual understanding? Isn't that the true responsibility of politics? To neglect that responsibility and instead rush once again toward becoming a military state is to lose sight of what truly matters, and amounts to abandoning the very duty entrusted to political leaders. Our tax money should not be used to strengthen the means of taking human lives. It should be invested in saving and nurturing lives—through welfare, education, healthcare, and other essential public services. It should also be used to support disaster recovery throughout Japan and to assist those affected by natural disasters. We have every right to demand that. if democracy in this country is still functioning. More than ever before, we as citizens must not yield to authority or to the pressure to conform. We must watch those in power, speak out, and insist that our government direct all its efforts toward creating peace rather than relying on violence. We must protect Article 9 of the Constitution, and never allow the Preamble—which upholds the three fundamental principles of popular sovereignty, respect for fundamental human rights, and pacifism—to be discarded. In 2026, now more than ever, we must choose not to surrender to our violent instincts, but to calm our minds, regain our humanity, create peace, respond to aggression with ethics and composure, and cultivate a society grounded in compassion and harmony. Japan must never be drawn into war. 2026.9.21 SGZ

August 15. Today marks the 81st year since the end of World War II. I offer my heartfelt prayers for the peaceful repose of every precious life lost in World War II. This is far too important to not repeat these peaceful sentiments. Over the past several years, the global situation has become more dire than at any time since the end of World War II, and even since the end of the Cold War. It is precisely because we live in such uncertain and turbulent times that we must choose mutual understanding and dialogue over hatred and violence. All moral and ethical people want nothing more than peace. Former Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka once left us with these words: “As long as the generation that experienced war remains at the heart of politics, we will be all right. But when a generation that has never known war becomes the core of Japan, that is when we should truly be afraid.” Are we not now living in precisely the kind of era he warned us about? Leaders and politicians who advocate for war will never go to the front lines themselves. It is the ordinary and young people who lose their lives on the battlefield, while innocent civilians become the victims of indiscriminate attacks. Do the leaders of the world truly understand the cruelty and horror of war—how, in a single instant, people can be robbed of their homes and livelihoods, their possessions, their futures, and their families? Our leaders, our politicians, just simply remain in places of safety whilst innocents suffer. There is absolutely no justification for the lives of innocent people around the world to be placed at the mercy of the agendas, greed, pride and business interests of a handful of people. I stand firmly for peace. As the only nation to have suffered atomic bombings in war, Japan must lead the world towards peace. Creating a peaceful and free world—that is the resolve we need most today. Let us act together. We are the overwhelming majority. 2026.08.15 SGZ

Reading these numbers
- What is SUGIZO's engagement rate on X?
- SUGIZO (@SUGIZOofficial) has an engagement rate of 1.12%, based on the median interactions across 32 original posts from the last 30 days against 232,124 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 1.12%, SUGIZO sits above the 75th percentile of the 205,152 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @SUGIZOofficial have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 94% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the top 10% for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @SUGIZOofficial post?
- Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.77 posts per day across the measured window.
