A typical post picks up 745 interactions against 219K followers, an engagement rate of 0.341%. Measured over 18 original posts, its engagement rate beats 80% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 28K times each, and 2.65% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 12.8% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 27% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 18 posts sampled, 56% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 6% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 32K interactions, about 43x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Ryan James Girdusky's engagement rate beats 80% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 71% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.341%, Ryan James Girdusky sits above the 50th percentile of the 205,881 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.143% to 0.68%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 205,881 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,891 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

This account posts most often around 10:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 56% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 6% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 285 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

A young woman bravely reported that she was sexually assaulted in 2024 by seven men at their fraternity. But instead of protecting her, Cornell University protected her abusers, letting them off with a slap on the wrist. It’s outrageous and a failure of both the institution and a societal norm that consistently makes light of sexual assault. The law isn’t helping. New York’s voluntary intoxication loophole makes it nearly impossible for survivors to seek justice if they drank or used substances prior to an assault. Because of this loophole, Jane Doe’s assailants may never be held accountable under the law. I want my daughters to grow up in a world that is safe. Women deserve to feel safe on campus. That means perpetrators must be held accountable for violating women to the fullest extent of the law. And we need federal action to ensure that those who commit sexual assault and the institutions that protect them face consequences.

So….about the Cornell Immoral Seven:  Enough obsessing over what SHE did. Let’s talk about what those BOYS did. When that Snapchat went out, decent young men should have been disgusted. They should have gone to that room, confronted the guys involved and said, “What the heck are you doing?” Then they should have called for help. THAT is leadership. Instead, too often our culture shrugs and falls back on the tired excuse: “Boys will be boys.” No. Boys need to be taught to become MEN. Men with self-control. Men with courage. Men who protect instead of exploit. Men who speak up when other men are doing something immoral. Men who someday lead their families with character and integrity. Mothers and fathers both need to raise the standard. Stop excusing reckless behavior. Stop normalizing it. Stop teaching boys that masculinity means getting away with whatever you can. Strong societies require strong, moral men. It’s time we start raising them. #cornell

Reading these numbers

What is Ryan James Girdusky's engagement rate on X?
Ryan James Girdusky (@RyanGirdusky) has an engagement rate of 0.341%, based on the median interactions across 18 original posts from the last 30 days against 218,995 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.341%, Ryan James Girdusky sits above the 50th percentile of the 205,881 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @RyanGirdusky have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 80% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @RyanGirdusky post?
Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.8 posts per day across the measured window.
