I have a question: if teachers face disciplinary action for hitting students in school, why is no action taken against the police officers in Delhi who beat students, or against those who issued such orders? During the ongoing student protests in Delhi, the police have been indiscriminately using lathi-charges against the students. While a mild lathi-charge to disperse a crowd might be understandable in some contexts, the force used here appears to be an act of vendetta. The videos surfacing show not only protesting students but also bystanders being ruthlessly trampled upon. Such actions by the police could not possibly occur without specific orders from above. What triggered the protest in the first place? It stemmed from the chaos surrounding the NEET exam, which adversely affected lakhs of students; out of anger, these students took to the streets, joined by others in solidarity. In short, the students initiated and sustained this movement. So, what was the justification for assaulting them? And who authorized the police to do so? Just as teachers are not permitted to hit students, neither are the police. Yet, why did this happen? In the past, teachers frequently used to hit students (I, too, have often received such ‘punishment’), a practice that was eventually restricted because, no one has the right to inflict corporal punishment on students aside from the judiciary. Why shouldn't the same standard apply to the police? I have often said, and I say again today, that whether it is the Maharashtra police or any other force, officers often have no choice but to carry out the actions they are ordered to perform; therefore, they cannot be held solely responsible. But who gave the authority to the system that issues orders for such ruthless beatings? Do they consider themselves above the Constitution? There are certain key United Nations principles, also adhered to by Amnesty International, dictating that whenever the use of force becomes necessary, the action taken must be constitutional, essential, and proportionate, and must entail accountability. Today, in countries like Norway, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and New Zealand, any use of police force is subject to rigorous inquiry. An inquiry that focuses heavily on those who issued the orders. We need to see this happen here as well. The question remains: who will ensure this happens? On one hand, the Chief Justice of the country dismissively refers to these young people as "cockroaches," while on the other, the Supreme Court itself states it has no time to view videos of the beatings. It is baffling. What do they have time for then? Young men and women are forced to take to the streets because they no longer have any expectations left from the current government. Civil society must reflect on this issue. It needs to be debated. Members of Parliament must insist on a discussion regarding this matter in the House. The issue is not whether the State possesses the authority to use force against its citizens; almost every State holds that power. The real question is whether a constitutional democracy demonstrates the capacity to exercise restraint in the use of its authority. A democracy’s maturity is not measured by how harshly dissent is suppressed, but rather by how it handles dissenting voices, with restraint and due consideration for the consequences. Raj Thackeray

Today marks the 19th day of Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike. The reports regarding his health and the visuals on television are certainly alarming. It is deeply distressing to say this, but it appears the government has decided to sacrifice Sonam Wangchuk, and by extension, the very space for protest in this country. After all, if this government can remain a silent spectator while the treasury of Lord Ram is being looted, what impact could a citizens' protest possibly have? Institutions that ought to function impartially have been co-opted, and elections are being manipulated to suit specific agendas. Exorbitant amounts of money are being spent on this, yet the mainstream media largely fails to question the source of these funds. Instead, they are busy discrediting both the opposition and even dissenters within the ruling party, acting on the instructions of their ‘invisible bosses’. And those in the media who speak out, operate under the constant threat of retribution. Consequently, the government finds it all too easy to crush a protest raised for a worthy cause and to inflict physical suffering upon the protester. There was a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held Sonam Wangchuk in high regard. BJP always cherishes an individual only as long as it serves their convenience. In 2018, Wangchuk was invited to the 'Re-Invest' conference, where the party praised him after listening to his insights on non-conventional energy. Naturally, because the party wanted to showcase its commitment to non-conventional energy. Later, when Ladakh was declared a separate territory, Wangchuk initially appreciated the BJP's move. However, he eventually realized that their intentions were far from honest. Wangchuk demanded separate statehood for Ladakh, two Lok Sabha constituencies for the region, and the protection of local people's land rights; he undertook hunger strikes and protests to this end, yet the government took no action. They offered assurances but failed to follow through. The reason is that stated intentions rarely align with actual motives. Today, Wangchuk’s demand is simply this: address the chaos surrounding the NEET exam, dismiss the minister responsible for it, and ensure transparency in these examinations. There is nothing amiss in this demand. During the BJP's tenure, irregularities in examinations have been rampant, ranging from the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh and the leaking of NEET papers to the recent leaks of teacher recruitment exam papers. The answer to why this happens under their watch, and why they behave with such callous indifference afterward, is simple: it stems from the unbridled power that comes with controlling all the machinery of the state. The BJP portrays election victories, often secured through various machinations, as a sign of the people's tacit approval, while simultaneously resenting any questioning. I say ‘BJP’, as their alliance partners lack any independent identity and are effectively controlled from Delhi.

Jai Maharashtra, Two days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to Indians to adopt austerity. Reduce gold purchases, avoid unnecessary foreign travel, consume less petrol and diesel, shift to electric vehicles, and embrace work-from-home practices. Why? Because gold and crude oil are imported, and they drain precious foreign exchange reserves. And with the Iran conflict escalating, global crude prices have surged sharply. Fair enough. But the Prime Minister and senior leaders continue to travel across the country with massive convoys, roadshows, helicopters, flower showers, and extravagant political campaigns. Will the prime minister admit that ‘such political excesses were our mistake, and all of us including me, will not repeat it’? Why should the common man suffer for your mistakes? Is austerity meant only for the citizen and never for the political class? Crude oil today is hovering around 90–100 dollars per barrel. But this is not the first time the world has seen such prices. During the 2008 financial crisis, during the Arab Spring of 2011–12, and the 2013–14 phase (when the BJP itself aggressively attacked the UPA over fuel prices) and again during the OPEC production cuts in 2022–23, crude prices had similarly touched these levels. During 3-4 such periods Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister. Narendra Modi himself held the position once. Dr. Manmohan Singh did not ask citizens to stop travelling abroad. Narendra Modi himself did not make such appeals earlier either. So why now? When global crude prices had fallen to nearly 60–65 dollars per barrel, Indian citizens were still paying extremely high prices for petrol and diesel because of heavy taxation. The government earned lakhs of crores through fuel taxes. Where did that money go? The Prime Minister once mocked the “freebie culture.” Yet elections - from Maharashtra to Bihar to West Bengal - are increasingly fought and won through precisely such populist giveaways. In Maharashtra, the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme has put tremendous strain on state finances. Instead of genuinely empowering women through jobs, education, and safety, governments distribute temporary cash benefits while inflation silently takes back much of that money. If the economic situation is indeed serious, will the Prime Minister openly ask all political parties to stop competitive populism? The PM now asks citizens to reduce fuel consumption. Fine. But why did this wisdom not emerge during massive election campaigns involving thousands of vehicles, endless roadshows, and the transport of lakhs of supporters across states like West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala? That itself would have burnt crores of liters of petrol and diesel. This didn’t occur to you when massive money power was wielded to gain votes there? Citizens are also being advised to avoid foreign travel. But how many Indians can afford international travel today? Even the middle class that can afford it is living under constant job insecurity. Students wish to study abroad because India has not invested deeply enough in higher education over the last decade, nor created enough confidence in domestic institutions. All you seem to be interested in is imposition of Hindi. Meanwhile, foreign institutional investors have been steadily pulling money out of Indian markets. Estimates suggest that nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore has exited over the past few months. The Prime Minister and his Chief Ministers travel to colder climates to cement investment deals. But if they are making those deals with Indian companies, why even go to Switzerland for it? The Prime Minister himself is embarking on another multi-country foreign tour beginning May 15. First cancel these travels and then preach austerity.

सोनम वांगचुक यांच्या उपोषणाचा हा आजचा १९ वा दिवस. त्यांच्या तब्येतीच्या ज्या बातम्या ऐकू येत आहेत किंवा जी दृश्य खासकरून सोशल मीडियावर दिसत आहेत ती निश्चितच काळजीत टाकणारी आहेत. हे म्हणायला प्रचंड वाईट वाटतंय की सरकारने सोनम वांगचुक यांचा आणि पर्यायाने या देशातील आंदोलनाची म्हणून एक जागा आहे तिचा बळीच घ्यायचा ठरवला आहे. हे सरकार जिथे श्रीरामाच्या तिजोरीला लुटलं जात असताना शांतपणे बघू शकते तिथे त्यांना नागरिकांच्या आंदोलनांने काय फरक पडणार ? ज्या संस्थांनी निष्पक्ष वागायला हवं त्यांनाच स्वतःच्या ताब्यात घेतलं आहे. निवडणुका हव्या तशा मॅनेज करून घेतल्या जात आहेत. त्यासाठी अतिप्रचंड पैसा खर्च केला जात आहे. तो कुठून आला असा प्रश्न बहुसंख्य माध्यमं विचारत नाहीयेत. उलट हीच बहुसंख्य माध्यमं त्यांच्या अदृश्य बॉसच्या सांगण्यावरून सत्ताधाऱ्यांच्या पक्षातील स्वकीयांची आणि विरोधकांना कसं बदनाम करता येईल यांत व्यस्त आहेत. आणि जी माध्यमं बोलत आहेत त्यांना आणि त्यांच्या मालकांच्या डोक्यावर एक टांगती तलवार फिरत आहे. त्यामुळे एका चांगल्या मुद्द्यासाठी उभ्या केलेल्या आंदोलनाला चिरडणं, आंदोलनकर्त्याच्या शरीराचे हाल करणं हे सरकारला सहज सोपं आहे. सोनम वांगचुक यांच्याबद्दल एकेकाळी भारतीय जनता पक्षाला आस्था होती. अर्थात भारतीय जनता पक्षाचं एक बरं असतं की त्यांच्या सोयीचा असेपर्यंत त्यांना तो माणूस प्रिय असतो. सोनम वांगचुक यांना २०१८ साली री-इन्व्हेस्ट कॉन्फरन्सला बोलावून त्यांच्याकडून अपारंपरिक ऊर्जा इत्यादींबद्दल ऐकून घेऊन त्यांचं कौतुक पण केलं होतं. अर्थात तेंव्हा आम्ही किती अपारंपरिक उर्जेला महत्व देतो हे दाखवायचं होतं म्हणून सोनम वांगचुक चालले. पुढे लडाख हा स्वतंत्र प्रदेश घोषित झाल्यावर वांगचुक यांना पण भाजपचं कौतुक वाटलं. पण पुढे वांगचुक यांच्या लक्षात आलं की यांचे हेतू अजिबात स्वच्छ नाहीत. लडाखला स्वतंत्र राज्याचा दर्जा मिळायला हवा, लडाखमध्ये दोन लोकसभा मतदारसंघ हवेत, तिथल्या लोकांच्या जमिनीवरचा हक्क राखला गेला पाहिजे या मागण्या वांगचुक यांनी केल्या, त्यासाठी उपोषण, आंदोलनं केली पण सरकारने काहीही केलं नाही. त्यांना आश्वस्त केलं आणि पुढे कृती काहीच नाही. कारण हेतू जे दाखवले जातात तसे कधीच नसतात. आज वांगचुक यांची मागणी नीट परीक्षेचा झालेला गोंधळ आणि तो ज्या व्यक्तीमुळे झाला त्या मंत्र्याची हकालपट्टी करा आणि या परीक्षांमध्ये पारदर्शकता आणा हीच आहे. यात काहीच वावगं नाही. भाजपच्या सत्तेच्या काळात सर्वत्र परीक्षांमध्ये घोळ होत आलेत. मध्यप्रदेशातील व्यापम घोटाळ्यापासून ते नीटच्या परीक्षांचे पेपर्स फुटणे ते अगदी आत्ता शिक्षकांच्या परीक्षांचे पेपर्स फुटण्यापर्यंत. हे सगळं यांच्या काळात का होतं आणि ते झाल्यावर हे इतके निर्ढावल्यासारखे का वागतात याचं उत्तर सोपं आहे. ते म्हणजे हाताशी सगळ्या यंत्रणांना धरून आलेली अमर्याद सत्ता. निवडणुकांत अनेक उद्योग करून ओढून आणलेलं यश हे लोकांच्या मूकसंमतीचं द्योतक म्हणून दाखवायचं आणि आम्हाला कोणी प्रश्न विचारायचे नाहीत हा एक वेगळाच माज सध्या भाजपला आला आहे. आणि मी भाजप अशा अर्थाने म्हणतोय की त्यांच्या घटक पक्षांना स्वतंत्र अस्तित्वच नाहीये, त्यांना दिल्लीतूनच चालवलं जात आहे. माझी पंतप्रधान श्री. नरेंद्र मोदी यांना विनंती आहे की जरा या प्रश्नात लक्ष घाला. NEET परीक्षांचा विषय आणि त्यातला गोंधळ हा काही सोपा विषय नाही. या परीक्षेतील घोळाने लाखो विद्यार्थ्यांच्या आयुष्याची वाट लागली आहे. आणि हे आत्ताच घडलं आहे असं नाही याच्या आधी पण असे प्रकार घडले आहेत. *आणि हा विषय राजकीय नाहीये. हा विषय सामाजिक आहे. NEET परीक्षा देणारे लाखो विद्यार्थी, त्यांचे पालक हे ज्या त्रासातून गेले, जो मनस्ताप झाला त्याच्याशी संबंधित हा विषय आहे. आणि यात भारतीय जनता पक्षाचे समर्थक, त्यांचे पदाधिकारी, त्यांचे कार्यकर्ते या सगळ्यांनाच त्रास झालेला असणार. त्यामुळे आंदोलनाकडे राजकीय नजरेतून केंद्रातील सत्ताधारी पाहत आहेत, तेच मुळात त्यांच्या लघुदृष्टीचं लक्षण आहे*.

आयपीएस अधिकारी श्री. विश्वास नांगरे पाटील यांना अचानक दुहेरी निष्ठा दाखवण्याची इच्छा झाली आहे असं दिसतंय. ते एक पोलीस अधिकारी आहेत, त्यामुळे त्यांची निष्ठा फक्त आणि फक्त पोलीस दलाची जी कर्तव्य आहेत त्याच्याशी असायला हवी. पण इथे नांगरे पाटील यांना त्यांची राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघाशी असलेली निष्ठा दाखवावीशी वाटत आहे. सध्या राज्यात हिंदू संमेलनं भरवली जात आहेत आणि त्यातल्या एका संमेलनात जाऊन विश्वास नांगरे पाटील यांनी राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ, त्यांचे संस्थापक यांच्यावर स्तुतिसुमने उधळली. मुळात ही संमेलनं भरवली जात आहेत ती जरी अराजकीय आहेत असं दाखवलं जात असली तरी ती राजकीयच आहेत . आणि ती भरवणारे कोण आहेत आणि त्यांचे हेतू नक्की काय आहेत, याचा थोडा शॊध घेतला किंवा विचार जरी केला तरी या मागचे हात कुठे आहेत हे कळेल. अर्थात प्रत्येक राजकीय पक्षाला किंवा अराजकीय संघटना म्हणवून घेणाऱ्यांनी काय कार्यक्रम घ्यावेत आणि काय त्यातून सांगावे हा त्यांचा, प्रत्येक पक्षाचा आणि संघटनेचा विषय आहे , त्यामुळे त्याबद्दल बोलायचा किंवा त्यावर भाष्य करण्याचा प्रश्नच उद्भवत नाही ! विषय एका सरकारी नोकरीवर असणाऱ्याने, त्यातही पोलिस अधिकाऱ्याने तेथे जावं का हा प्रश्न आहे ! अशा ठिकाणी नांगरे पाटील जाऊन राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघाची तोंडभरून स्तुती करत आहेत. आपण पोलीस अधिकारी आहोत, निष्पक्षता ही अधिकाऱ्याकडून अपेक्षित असते याचं भान पण तुमचं गेलं ? तुम्हाला संघाबद्दल आपुलकी असेल, तर ती मनात ठेवा किंवा जाहीरपणे बोलायचं असेल तर सेवेचा राजीनामा द्या आणि संघात किंवा भाजपमध्ये सामील व्हा. सध्या तसंही गेली अनेक वर्ष मर्जीतल्या अधिकाऱ्यांसाठी पुनर्वसन हमी योजना सुरु आहेच. तुमचंही पुनर्वसन होईल. नांगरे पाटील यांच्या वर्दीचा जो खाकी रंग आहे तो पोलीस दलाचा आहे असा आमच्या सगळ्यांचा समज होता, तो रंग संघाच्या आधीच्या खाकीचा आहे हे आत्ताच कळलं . नांगरे पाटील यांचं सोडा, ते भरकटले असतील. पण अशी दुहेरी निष्ठा मुख्यमंत्र्यांना आणि गृहमंत्र्यांना चालते ? उद्या तुम्ही सत्तेवरून गेल्यानंतर दुसऱ्या एखाद्या संघटनेच्या कार्यक्रमाला मग एखादा अधिकारी गेला तर तेव्हा बोंब मारू नका ! एखाद्या अधिकाऱ्याच्या कृतीचं समर्थन ( अजून केलेलं नाही तरी पण गप्प बसणं हेही समर्थनच झालं ) करताना आपण काय चूकीचे पायंडे पाडत आहोत याचं भान कोणताही सत्ताधारी विसरतो तेव्हा आपण भविष्यातल्या येणाऱ्या पिढ्यांसमोर काय वाढून ठेवणार आहोत हेही विसरतोय ? २०१२ ला रझा अकादमीच्या विरोधात महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेने काढलेल्या मोर्च्यात एका कॉन्स्टेबलने येऊन, पोलिसांच्या पाठीशी उभे राहिलात म्हणून माझं अभिनंदन केलं होतं. तर त्यावर तत्कालीन सरकारने निष्पक्षता सोडली म्हणून त्यांना सक्तीच्या रजेवर पाठवलं होतं. मग हीच भूमिका सरकार नांगरे पाटील यांच्या बाबत घेणार का ? का ही दुहेरी निष्ठा सरकारला चालते किंवा ती दाखवयालाच हवी असं वाटतं ? आमदार, खासदार यांना 'आमच्याकडे या' म्हणलं की पळत जावं लागतं, अशी परिस्थिती आणून ठेवली आहे. सध्या विरोधी आमदार, खासदार उरलेत का अशी शंका वाटत असताना जर सरकारी अधिकारी पण जर निष्पक्ष नाही राहिले तर लोकांनी बघायचं कोणाकडे ? नांगरे पाटील असोत किंवा अजून कोणी असोत यांना विनंती आहे की सरकारला तुम्ही त्यांच्या किंवा त्यांच्या मागच्या संघटनांच्या मागे धावलात तर त्यांना हे हवंच आहे. परंतू नांगरे पाटील तुम्ही एक चांगले कार्यक्षम अधिकारी आहात , तुम्ही तरी तुमची सद्सद्विवेक राजकीय पक्ष आणि संघटनांसमोर गहाण टाकू नका ! राज ठाकरे ।

सस्नेह जय महाराष्ट्र, पंतप्रधान श्री. नरेंद्र मोदींनी दोन दिवसांपूर्वी तमाम भारतीयांना काटकसर करण्याचं आवाहन केलं. सोनं खरेदी कमी करा किंवा जवळपास थांबवाच, परदेशात गरज नसेल तर जाऊ नका, पेट्रोल डिझेलचा वापर कमी करा, विजेवर चालणाऱ्या गाड्या जास्त वापरा, वर्कफ्रॉम होमचा पर्याय स्वीकारा इत्यादी इत्यादी. हे सगळं का ? तर, सोनं, पेट्रोल डिझेल हे आयात करावं लागतं आणि त्यात विदेशी गंगाजळी मोठ्या प्रमाणवर खर्च होते. आणि सध्या इराण युद्धामुळे खनिज तेलाचे भाव प्रचंड वाढलेत. बरं, मग स्वतः पंतप्रधान आणि त्यांचे सगळे सहकारी देशभर काही शे गाड्यांचा ताफा घेऊन मिरवणुका काढत आहेत, स्वतःवर फुलं उधळून घेत आहेत त्याचं काय करणार आहात आपण ? आमच्याकडून चूक झाली त्याबद्दल दिलगिरी व्यक्त करून, यापुढे माझ्यासकट कोणीही काही असं करणार नाही असं सांगणार आहात का ? चुका तुमच्या, आणि त्याचा भुर्दंड जनतेला का ? सध्या खनिज तेलाचा आंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारातील भाव हा साधारणपणे ९० ते १०० डॉलर्स प्रति बॅरल असा आहे. हा भाव जगाने या आधी कधी पाहिला नाही असं नाही. २००८ ला पुढे २०११-२०१२ मध्ये अरब स्प्रिंगच्या वेळेस, २०१३-२०१४ च्या काळात ( जेंव्हा भाजपवाले खनिज तेलाच्या किंमती आणि देशाची इभ्रत यावर तावातावाने बोलत होते तो काळ ), पुढे अशीच परिस्थिती २०२२ आणि २०२३ च्या दरम्यान जेंव्हा ओपेकने खनिज तेलाचं उत्पादन कमी करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला तेंव्हा देखील बॅरलचा भाव ९० ते १०० डॉलर्सच्या दरम्यान गेला होता. या घटनांपैकी ३ ते ४ वेळा मनमोहन सिंग पंतप्रधान होते आणि एकदा तर स्वतः मोदी पंतप्रधान होते. मनमोहन सिंगांनी असं आवाहन केलं नाही की तेंव्हा मोदींनी केलं नाही. मग आत्ताच का ? काटकसर करा हे आवाहन करताना खरं कारण देशाच्या आणि राज्याराज्यांच्या अर्थव्यवस्थेचं जे काही कंबरडं मोडून ठेवलं आहे त्याबद्दल पंतप्रधान काहीच बोलत नाहीयेत. बरं जेंव्हा बॅरलचा भाव ६० ते ६५ डॉलर्सच्या आसपास होता तेंव्हा पण तुम्ही चढ्या भावाने आम्हाला पेट्रोल डिझेल विकत होतात त्यावेळेस जे पैसे लोकांकडून घेतले जे काही लाख कोटी रुपये असतील ते कुठे गेले ? त्याचं काय झालं ? ज्या रेवडी संस्कृतीची पंतप्रधानांनी खिल्ली उडवली त्याच रेवड्या मग २०२४ ची महाराष्ट्र विधानसभेची निवडणूक असो की त्यानंतरच्या बिहार, पश्चिम बंगाल निवडणूका असोत की इतर कुठल्याही निवडणुका 'रेवड्या' वाटूनच निवडणुका जिंकल्यात. महाराष्ट्रात लाडकी बहीण योजनेने राज्याची अर्थव्यवस्था मोडकळीला आणली. महिलांना सक्षम करायचं सोडून त्यांना तुटपुंजे पैसे द्यायचे आणि ते पैसे महागाईच्या रूपाने पुन्हा काढून घ्यायचे. देशाची आणि राज्याची अर्थव्यवस्था जर नाजूक झाली आहे तर या रेवड्या वाटू नका असं पंतप्रधान ठामपणे सांगणार आहेत का ? पेट्रोल, डिझेलच्या वापरात काटकसर करा असं पंतप्रधान सांगतात. ठीक आहे. मग हे आत्ताच का सुचलं ? पश्चिम बंगाल, आसाम, तामिळनाडू, केरळ आणि इतर राज्यांच्या निवडणुकीत प्रचार, रोड शो करताना आणि देशभरातून लाखो माणसं त्या त्या राज्यात नेताना जे कोट्यवधी लिटर्स पेट्रोल, डिझेल वाया गेलं तेंव्हा का नाही सुचलं ? या राज्यांमध्ये जो अफाट पैशाचा खेळ करून मतदान मिळवलं तेंव्हा का नाही सुचलं ? लोकांनी परदेशात जाणं टाळावं असं पंतप्रधान म्हणतात. पण किती टक्के लोकांना परदेशात जाणं आत्ता परवडत आहे ? ज्या वर्गाला परवडू शकतो त्यांना पुढच्या महिन्यात आपली कंपनी आपल्याला कामावर ठेवेल का याची खात्री नाही. विद्यार्थ्यांना परदेशात शिकायला जावंस वाटतं कारण गेल्या १० ते ११ वर्षांत आपण शिक्षणात फार मूलभूत गुंतवणूक पण केली नाही भारतात रहावं असं वाटावं असं वातावरण पण निर्माण केलं नाही. शिक्षणात फक्त हिंदी कशी लादता येईल याकडे सगळं लक्ष लागलेलं. गेले काही महिने विदेशी गुंतवणूकदार भारतीय शेअर बाजारातून अंग काढून घेत आहेत. एक अंदाज असा आहे जवळपास दीड लाख करोड रुपये गेल्या तीन महिन्यात विदेशी गुंतवणूकदारांनी काढून घेतलेत. भारतात विदेशी गुंतवणूक होत नाहीये. पंतप्रधान आणि त्यांचे मुख्यमंत्री फक्त गुंतवणुकीचे करार करतात, त्यासाठी थंड हवेच्या देशांत जातात. बरं तिथे जाऊन भारतीय कंपन्यांसोबत करार करायचे मग त्यासाठी स्वित्झर्लंडला काय जायचं? स्वतः पंतप्रधान आता १५ मे पासून ५ देशांच्या परदेश दौऱ्यावर निघालेत, हे दौरे तुम्ही थांबवा. आणि मग लोकांना आवाहन करा.

तरुणांच्या आंदोलनाचा विजय झाला. धर्मेंद्र प्रधानांना राजीनामा द्यायला तरुणांनी भाग पाडलं. आम्ही कोणाचं ऐकणार नाही, कोणाशी बोलणार नाही, आम्हाला कोणी सांगायचं नाही असा या सरकारचा जो माज होता तो या आंदोलकानी उतरवला. यासाठी या देशातील तमाम तरुण-तरुणीचं आणि त्यांच्या पालकांचं मनापासून अभिनंदन. हे अभिनंदन करण्यासाठी आज मी आणि शिवसेना पक्षप्रमुख श्री. उद्धव ठाकरे यांनी संयुक्त पत्रकार परिषद घेतली. उद्या २६ जुलै २०२६ ला जो तिरंगा मार्च होणार होता त्याचं रूपांतर विजयोत्सव सोहळ्यात होत आहे. उद्या ठरलेल्या वेळेतच सकाळी १० वाजता छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज मैदानावर आपण सगळे ठरलं तसं जमणार आहोत. देशभरातील तरुण-तरुणींनी केलेल्या संघर्षाचं कौतुक आणि अभिनंदन करणार आहोत. तेंव्हा आपलं ठरलं आहे तसं भेटूया. पत्रकार परिषदेत बाकी जे काही बोललो त्याची चित्रफीत सोबत जोडली आहे.

पद्मविभूषण आशाताई भोसलेंच्या निधनाचा शोकप्रस्ताव मांडताना, विधानसभा अध्यक्ष श्री. राहुल नार्वेकर यांनी ज्या पद्धतीने मराठी भाषेची चिरफाड केली आणि कागदावर लिहून दिलेलं मराठी पण त्यांना वाचता येत नाही हे पाहून संताप, उद्वेग दोन्ही दाटून आला. वाचण्या आधी त्या कागदातून भेळ खाल्ली होती का यांनी ? नार्वेकरांनी हा प्रस्ताव स्वाहिली अथवा हिब्रू भाषेत मांडला असता तरी चाललं असता कारण त्यांचं मराठी पण कळलं नाही आणि स्वाहिली, हिब्रू तसं पण कोणालाच कळत नाही. बरं अजून एक शोकांतिका म्हणजे नार्वेकर, दीनानाथ मंगेशकरांचा उल्लेख दीनदयाल मंगेशकर करत होते आणि वाट्टेल तसं मराठी वाचून दाखवत होते त्यावेळेस सभागृहात उपस्थित एकाही आमदाराला आक्षेप नोंदवावासा वाटला नाही. नार्वेकरांना ना दीनानाथ मंगेशकर माहित आहेत ना दीनदयाळ उपाध्याय माहित आहेत. भाजपने जी काही खोगीरभरती सुरु केली आहे त्यात त्यांची अवस्था तेलही गेलं, तूपही गेलं, हाती आलं धुपाटणे अशी झाली आहे. सभागृहात नक्की कोण उपस्थित होतं माहित नाही पण अनेक ज्येष्ठ आमदार इथे असणार हे नक्की त्यांच्यापैकी एकानेही विरोध दर्शवला नाही ? सभागृहात श्री. देवेंद्र फडणवीस उपस्थित होते का माहित नाही, पण असते तरी मला वाटत नाही त्यांना काही फरक पडला असेल. गुलाबी आंखे जो तेरी देखी सारखी अनेक गाणी ( स्वतः निर्माण केलेल्या बेसुरात) म्हणणाऱ्या फडणवीसांना आज आपल्या राज्यात विधानसभेत कोणत्या महान व्यक्तीला आपण श्रद्धांजली अर्पण करणार आहोत आणि त्याचं गांभीर्य काय असतं हे समजायला हवं होतं ! पण त्यांच म्हणणं सोपं आहे, सांगितलेली फोडाफोडीची कामं होत आहेत ना बरोबर , अधिवेशनाचा उपचार पूर्ण होत आहे ना ? बस झालं. दीनदयाल मंगेशकर म्हणो की दीनानाथ चौहान म्हणो काय फरक पडतो. शोकप्रस्ताव पण एक उपचारच आहे जो पार पडला. महाराष्ट्रातील आधीच्या, आताच्या पिढ्या हे पाहात आहेत आणि हे रेकॉर्ड झालेले सभापतींचे भाषण पुढच्या पिढ्या पाहतील याचं भान आणि जाणीव दोन्हीही नाही ? माणूस शिक्षित असला पाहीजे पण त्यापेक्षा तो सुज्ञ असला पाहिजे याची जाणीव मुख्यमंत्री सभापतींना करून देणार आहेत का नाही ? आणि श्री. एकनाथ शिंदेंना पण याच्याशी घेणंदेणं असण्याचं काहीच कारण नाही. मराठी भाषेबद्दलच्या अभ्यासाचं त्यांचं विमान पंन्नास हजार फुटावरून चाललंय म्हणून त्यांचा पण दूर दूर पर्यंत संबंध नाही ! ही अवस्था आहे आज आपल्या महाराष्ट्राची. महाराष्ट्र विधानसभेच्या अध्यक्षाला समोरच्या कागदावर लिहिलेलं मराठी वाचता येत नाही, ते सभागृह मराठी भाषेविषयी काय आस्था बाळगणार किंवा मराठीची गळचेपी होत आहे म्हणून काय कारवाई करणार? या सभागृहाला अध्यक्ष म्हणून गणेश वासुदेव माळवणकर लाभले जे पुढे लोकसभेचे पहिले अध्यक्ष झाले. नार्वेकर ज्या अलिबागमधून येतात त्या अलिबागचे दत्तात्रय काशिनाथ कुंटे विधानसभेचे अध्यक्ष होते, अरुणभाई गुजराथी होते, बाळासाहेब भारदे होते, अगदी आत्ता आता अध्यक्ष असलेले दिलीप वळसे पाटील होते. अशी अध्यक्षांची परंपरा कुठे आणि सध्याची काय ही अवस्था ? कधीकधी विधिमंडळाच्या कामकाजाचं चित्रण समोर येतं ते ऐकावंसं आणि बघावसं पण वाटत नाही इतकं सुमार पद्धतीने सुरु आहे. आपल्या भाषेची गळचेपी ही हिंदी लादून केंद्राकडून सुरु आहे, ती राज्यात येणाऱ्या परप्रांतीयांकडून सुरु आहे आणि राज्याच्या विधिमंडळाकडून पण सुरु आहे याचं सगळ्यात जास्त वाईट वाटतं, चीड येते. काल नार्वेकरांनी आशाताईंच्या निधनाचा नाही तर मराठी भाषेच्या निधनाचा शोकप्रस्ताव मांडला आणि त्यावर एकाही सदस्याने ब्र देखील न काढून या शोकप्रस्तावाला जणू संमतीच दिली. मराठी माणसाने विचार करावा की काय पद्धतीची माणसं आणि सरकार आपण निवडून देत आहोत. महाराष्ट्राच्या विधानसभेत मराठी भाषेला रस्त्यावर सांडून नार्वेकरांनी त्यावर आपला बेजबाबदार बुलडोझर फिरवल्याबद्दल आणि शब्दशः धिंडवडे काढणाऱ्या या वृत्तीचा महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेतर्फे निषेध ! राज ठाकरे ।

प्रति श्री. देवेंद्र फडणवीस, भारतीय जनता पक्षाच्या केंद्रातील लोकांना सत्तेचा माज आला आहे, हे पूर्व , पश्चिम , उत्तर , दक्षिण भारतातील लोकं सर्रास बोलत आहेत. केंद्रातील लोकं वाट्टेल तसे वागत आहेत याचा राग लोकांच्या मनात होता आणि आहेच. पण हा संसर्ग आता आपल्या राज्यापर्यंत पसरला आहे ? आणि तुम्ही तो पसरू देताय? देशातील इतर राज्यातील राजकारण आणि महाराष्ट्रातील राजकारण यात जमीन अस्मानाचा फरक होता. महाराष्ट्रच्या राजकीय नेत्यांच्या विचारांचं आणि उमदेपणाचं एक कौतुक आणि कुतूहल साऱ्या देशात होतं ! पण गेल्या काही वर्षांत आपण आपली बरोबरी उत्तरेकडील काही मागास विचारांच्या राज्यांबरोबर करायला लागलोय हे आता स्पष्टपणे जाणवत आहे ! तुमचा एक आमदार आणि पदाधिकरी लोकांच्या मृत्यूवर फिदीफिदी हसतो आणि त्यावर कारवाईचा एकही आसूड ओढला जात नाहीये. एक फार प्रसिद्ध वाक्य आहे जे तुम्ही पण कधी ऐकलं असेल, 'Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely' पण या वाक्याचा अर्थ उद्या समजून सांगायची वेळ आली तर सध्याचे भारतीय जनता पक्षाचे तुमचे सहकारी हे आदर्श उदाहरण ठरतील अशी परिस्थिती आहे. कोणाला कशाचाच खेद नाही, खंत नाही, अशी परिस्थिती आहे. आणि या सगळ्यात तुम्ही एकही अवाक्षर बोलत नाही यामुळे सगळे बेफाम झाले आहेत. देवेंद्र फडणवीस हे सुसंस्कृत मुख्यमंत्री आहेत, संवेदनशील आहेत असं महाराष्ट्राला वाटत होतं, आणि मलाही वाटत होतं. पण हे असले प्रकार जेंव्हा होतात आणि त्यावर जेंव्हा काहीही खेद तुमच्या कडून व्यक्त केला जात नाही, तेंव्हा मात्र तुमच्या संवेनशीलतेबद्दलच शंका घ्यावी लागते. मी गेली ३७ वर्ष राजकारणात सक्रिय आहे. या काळात महाराष्ट्रात एखाद्या नेत्याकडून प्रमाद घडला, चूक झाली तर तो स्वपक्षाचा आहे म्हणून त्याच्या चुकांवर त्यावेळच्या राज्यातील नेत्यांनी कधी पांघरूण घातलंय असं झालं नाही. बाळासाहेब असोत, पवार साहेब असोत की प्रमोदजी असोत किंवा कोणीही असोत, म्हणून महाराष्ट्राचं राजकारण वेगळं आहे अशी देशभर प्रतिमा होती. आज तुम्ही हा आपला आहे ना मग त्यांनी काहीही केलं तरी घाल त्याला पाठीशी सुरु केलं आहेत. याने तुम्ही तुमची आणि महाराष्ट्राची प्रतिमा डागाळत आहात असं वाटत नाहीये का ? तुमचे मंत्री रोज बेताल विधानं करत आहेत, त्याबद्दल तुम्ही काही बोलत नाही. तुमचे इतर नेते असंवेदनशीलता उघडपणे दाखवतात त्यांना तुम्ही काही बोलत नाही . ( बोलला असता तर परत त्यांची तीच चूक करायची हिम्मत झाली नसती पण ते तसेच वागत आहेत यावरून समजतंय की तुम्ही त्यांना काहीच समज देत नाही आहात) तुमच्या मौनाचं नेमकं कारण काय आहे? तुमच्याकडून म्हणण्यापेक्षा या महाराष्ट्राच्या मुख्यमंत्र्यांकडून काही संकेतांची अपेक्षा कायम असते. मग तो कुठल्या का पक्षाचा का असेना. त्याचा अपेक्षाभंग करू नका. अन्यथा देवेंद्र फडणवीस हा माणूस फक्त स्वकीयांच्या चुकांना पाठीशी घालणारा भाऊ इतकीच तुमची प्रतिमा राहील आणि यांत सगळ्यात महत्वाचं म्हणजे महाराष्ट्राच्या राजकारणात चुकीचे पायंडे पडतील. खरंतर असं बेफाम वागणाऱ्यांकडून तुम्ही राजीनामे घ्यायला हवेत. पण तुम्ही ते का करत नाही आहात माहित नाही. वेडंवाकडं वागणाऱ्यांना फडणवीस जबर शासन करतात हे एकदा दाखवून द्या म्हणजे सगळेच सुतासारखे सरळ येतील. तुम्ही सुज्ञ आहात. तुमच्याकडून अपेक्षा आहेत. राज ठाकरे ।
