These were the words of Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Eliud Lagat, during the parade rehearsal today at the National Police Main Campus in Kiganjo. The recruits demonstrated that they are ripe and ready for the next chapter of their lives as officers of the Kenya Police Service. The rehearsal is one of many to ensure perfection before the pass-out, which is scheduled to take place on 28th August 2026 and will be presided over by His Excellency President William Ruto. The long journey of nine months is finally coming to a successful end. The next rehearsal will be conducted by Inspector General of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja on 25th August 2026 before the main day.

Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Lagat, hosted the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security, led by Narok West MP Hon. Gabriel Tongoyo, at the Magado Field Campus in Igembe North, Meru County. The committee conducted an inspection tour of the facility, pledging support to secure resource allocations for its further development. During the visit, DIG Lagat led the lawmakers on a guided tour of the campus, which recently completed training for the latest cohort of police recruits. The inspection coincided with the reporting of 700 National Police Reservists (NPR) drawn from various counties and conservancies for a one-month intensive course. Their training, previously conducted in their home counties, has now been centralized at Magado Field Campus. Addressing the trainees, DIG Lagat urged them to approach the course with utmost dedication and seriousness. Hon. Tongoyo reassured the cohort that Parliament remains committed to supporting their welfare and operational needs.

After eight months of training, the recruits demonstrated field maneuvers, tactical firearms skills and competed for the coveted Course Marksman title before the DIG, Formation Commandants and Directors—the first such inspection by a Deputy Inspector General.
