A typical post picks up 106 interactions against 90K followers, an engagement rate of 0.119%. Measured over 12 original posts, its engagement rate beats 54% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 2.5K times each, and 4.21% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 2.82% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 50% of days. Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 12 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 83% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 753 interactions, about 7.1x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #josecarreras, #spanishgp, #24horas.

Compared with accounts its own size

Placido Domingo's engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 81% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.119%, Placido Domingo sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 83% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 418 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Deeply saddened by the passing of the great Romanian soprano, Ileana Cotrubaș. Ileana and I were close colleagues for so many years, as Violetta and Alfredo in La Traviata, Mimì and Rodolfo in La Bohème, Gilda and the Duke in Rigoletto, Antonia and Hoffmann in The Tales of Hoffmann, and Nedda and Canio in Pagliacci, etc. With Ileana, great singer and actor as stage partner, we believed in the characters we portrayed, and were able to create memorable performances that reached the hearts of our audience. My dear Ileana, rest in peace. 🥹🙏. @PlacidoDomingo

One of @PlacidoDomingo 's dreams has come true in his home city Madrid: a Foundation to promote his beloved zarzuelanurturing new generations of talent and audiences worldwide, and implementing social action through music. The "Fundación Plácido Domingo" will also safeguard the living cultural legacy of one of world's greatest singers so that "it continues to illuminate the path of musicians, students, researchers and music lovers around the world". The Spaniard's spirit of solidarity has always been legendary and his Foundation is already active in social assistance: after the devastating floods in the Community of Valencia in 2024 the Foundation participated in the organisation of benefit concerts and the replacement of damaged musical instruments. "We believe in the power of music as a vehicle for personal and social transformation, capable of bringing people closer, fostering inclusion and stengthening essential human values," says the Foundation. A noble project inspired by a unique man who has dedicated his life to music and humanitarian endeavours. Enhorabuena! Link for more info: https://t.co/p2MwKM30xK

Flags aflutter in the medieval town of Requena near Valencia during its 77th wine festival, one of Spain's oldest celebrations centred on the grape harvest. Requena is also hosting a music festival whose star attraction is a gala by @PlacidoDomingo , Ainhoa Arteta and Antonio Gandía tomorrow, 23rd August, at the charming Teatro Principal. The sold-out concert is in honour of the 20th anniversary of the Orchesta Filarmónica Fundación Ciudad de Requena and the proclamation of Requena as Spain's "wine city" for 2026. With zarzuela from the country's greatest singer and a celebration of wine, you know you're in Spain. Toi toi toi!

It was billed "The voice and soul of Spain" and that's exactly what @PlacidoDomingo 's animated concert in Requena was. Together with Ainhoa Arteta and Antonio Gandía the King of zarzuela gave the delirious public a tour through their national music, and as a finale he conducted the local orchestra celebrating its 20th birthday in a vivacious pasodoble. "España cañi", one of Spain's most famous tunes with the Orchesta Filrmónica Fundación Ciudad de Requena and its usual conductor, Francisco Melero, leading the public clapping to the music. Happy birthday to the orchestra and congratulations to Maestro Domingo, who is literally the voice and soul of Spain.

Don Ottavio's aria of devotion to his beloved Donna Anna who is distraught over the identity of her father's killer. "If she sighs I sigh too. Her anger is mine, her tears are mine, and I feel no joy if she has none." Here is a recording of "Dalla sua pace" from Mozart's "Don Giovanni" by @PlacidoDomingo , who made his debut as Don Ottavio as a young tenor at the Israeli Opera House in Tel Aviv 63 years ago today. Just one of the astonishing total of more than 150 roles he has performed in his unequalled career. Chapeau! https://t.co/OUIaQpWoQi

What is Placido Domingo's engagement rate on X?
Placido Domingo (@PlacidoDomingo) has an engagement rate of 0.119%, based on the median interactions across 12 original posts from the last 30 days against 89,689 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.119%, Placido Domingo sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @PlacidoDomingo have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @PlacidoDomingo post?
Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.03 posts per day across the measured window.
