A typical post picks up 100 interactions against 148K followers, an engagement rate of 0.067%. Measured over 8 original posts, its engagement rate beats 47% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 5.5K times each, and 1.81% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.72% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.53 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 33% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 8 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 25% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.9K interactions, about 19x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Paul Nicholls OBE's engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 58% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.067%, Paul Nicholls OBE sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.024% to 0.143%.

This account posts most often around 14:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 25% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 490 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the fantastic Big Buckโ€™s at the grand old age of 23. A champion staying hurdler, he was a truly special horse who gave us some of the most incredible memories throughout his racing career. Four World Hurdle victories, four Liverpool Hurdles, three Long Walk Hurdles and 18 wins in a row โ€” what a record! He was a real character, and you never quite knew what he had left in the tank in a race. Somehow he always seemed to find that little bit extra when it mattered, a part of what made him so special. Big Buckโ€™s was owned by the late Andy Stewart, who gave us the privilege of training such a wonderful horse. Iโ€™m delighted that Andyโ€™s family continue to have horses in training in Ditcheat today, which makes that connection even more special. The late Rose Loxton looked after him throughout his racing career alongside the rest of our brilliant team. He then enjoyed a long and happy retirement with Mike and Lucy Felton, who gave him a wonderful home and cared for him so well. Thank you for everything Buckโ€™s. You will never be forgotten. ๐Ÿ“ธ Michael Harris

NEW SCHOOLING FACILITY ๐Ÿ‡ We are delighted to have our brand-new 1.4 furlong schooling lane ready to go, laid with an @ESurfaces wax track. The new facility features a line of three @EASYFIXEquine fences and four @EASYFIXEquine hurdles, giving us a fantastic facility for schooling and developing the horses. It will be invaluable to the yard and importantly means we can school the horses whatever the weather which is something that has become increasingly challenging with the changing weather patterns. A great effort from Rob our gallops man, Lance Purchase Construction and the team who have worked hard to get it finished. We canโ€™t wait to put it to good use! Watch this space ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‡

๐Ÿ‡ National Racehorse Week 2026 ๐Ÿ‡ What a brilliant day welcoming a group of local riding school youngsters to the yard! ๐ŸŽ They enjoyed a fascinating insight into life behind the scenes and how the yard works, asking some fantastic questions along the way. From trying on jockey silks to getting up close with cheekpieces and blinkers, there was plenty to see, learn and experience! Thank you to one of our jockeys Paddy Hanlon for giving us a great demonstration on the Equicisor โ€” which the youngsters then all had a go on themselves. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‡ There were certainly some budding work riders and jockeys amongst them! To finish off a fantastic visit, we were delighted to welcome retired racehorse Politologue, who was a big hit with everyone. โค๏ธ It was lovely to share our passion for racing and give the next generation a glimpse into the world of the racehorse.

Reading these numbers

What is Paul Nicholls OBE's engagement rate on X?
Paul Nicholls OBE (@PFNicholls) has an engagement rate of 0.067%, based on the median interactions across 8 original posts from the last 30 days against 148,478 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.067%, Paul Nicholls OBE sits above the 25th percentile of the 205,261 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @PFNicholls have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @PFNicholls post?
Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.53 posts per day across the measured window.
