People's Daily, China engagement report
@PDChina - 6.4M followers on X
Measured over 298 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 31, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 32 interactions against 6.4M followers, an engagement rate of 0.001%. Measured over 298 original posts, its engagement rate beats 13% of 3,774 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 9.3K times each, and 0.343% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.146% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 10.4 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 67% of days. Most posts go out around 08:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 298 posts sampled, 96% carry an image or video and 14% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.4K interactions, about 43x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #doyouknow, #malaysia, #opinion.

Compared with accounts its own size
People's Daily, China's engagement rate beats 13% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 30% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.001%, People's Daily, China sits below the 10th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

China activates emergency response after mudslide hits Xizang border port Chinese authorities have launched full-scale rescue operations after a mudslide in Nepal caused severe casualties at China's border port of Gyirong in southwestern Xizang Autonomous Region on Wednesday morning. China’s Ministry of Natural Resources activated a Level-II emergency response for geological disasters, the second-highest in China's four-tier emergency response system, and dispatched a working team to the stricken site to guide rescue operations and prevent secondary disasters, sources with the ministry said. China’s National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief, together with the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM), activated a Level-II emergency response for disaster relief, and helped allocate 30,000 central relief supplies including tents, stoves, clothing and quilts, folding beds and moisture-proof mats to support the evacuation, resettlement and relief work. China’s Ministry of Finance and the MEM also allocated 120 million yuan (about 17.69 million U.S. dollars) in central natural disaster relief funds to support Xizang in carrying out emergency rescue and disaster relief work. Meanwhile, China’s National Development and Reform Commission earmarked 100 million yuan in central budget investment to support the post-disaster emergency recovery and reconstruction efforts. The disaster has cut off roads leading to the port on the Chinese side, as well as communications and power supplies, according to the emergency management bureau of Gyirong County in the city of Xigaze. Gyirong Port is a major land port connecting China and Nepal. #China #Xizang #Tibet #Nepal #Mudslide #Xigaze #Shigatse #GyirongCounty #西藏 #日喀则 #吉隆县 #尼泊尔 #泥石流 #ChinaMilitary #ChinaMilBugle

- What is People's Daily, China's engagement rate on X?
- People's Daily, China (@PDChina) has an engagement rate of 0.001%, based on the median interactions across 298 original posts from the last 30 days against 6,387,908 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.001%, People's Daily, China sits below the 10th percentile of the 36,521 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @PDChina have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 13% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @PDChina post?
- Most posts go out around 08:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 10.43 posts per day across the measured window.
