Government of Nigeria engagement report
@NigeriaGov - 2.2M followers on X
Measured over 13 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 7, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 178 interactions against 2.2M followers, an engagement rate of 0.008%. Measured over 13 original posts, its engagement rate beats 32% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 13K times each, and 1.38% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.592% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 9.6 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 13 posts sampled, 85% carry an image or video, 15% are part of a thread and 23% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 708 interactions, about 4.0x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #nationalyouthconfab, #nationalyouthconfab2026.

Compared with accounts its own size
Government of Nigeria's engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 58% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.008%, Government of Nigeria sits above the 10th percentile of the 156,148 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.022%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 85% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 23% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 85% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 23% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 629 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

I am delighted to receive the news that the fifteen members of the National Youth Service Corps and six other innocent and law-abiding Nigerians abducted last week in Kogi State by some criminal elements have regained their freedom. The well-coordinated Search and Rescue (SAR) operation carried out by a combined team of personnel of the military, the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services, and local vigilantes safely rescued all twenty-one abductees, made up of eight males and thirteen females, from the den of kidnappers in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State this afternoon. The corps members and other rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention before they are reunited with their families. While the abductees have been safely rescued, our gallant security forces are still on the trail of the routed kidnappers, in line with my directive to sustain the pressure on all criminal elements. Those responsible will face the full weight of the law, and our security agencies will pursue everyone who aided this crime. My administration remains committed to ensuring that every Nigerian can travel across our country without fear. I wholeheartedly commend the combined SAR team for their courage and appreciate families and loved ones of the abductees for their understanding during the ordeals of their loved ones. As I share in the relief and joy of the parents and loved ones of the rescued individuals, I want to once again, assure parents and loved ones of our dedicated corps members that my Administration remains committed to ensuring the safety of their lives and property, as well as those of other Nigerians. God bless the men and women of our Security and Intelligence agencies. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. PROTECTING FOOTBALL, RESTORING NATIONAL PRIDE Football occupies a special place in our national life. It brings Nigerians together across generations and communities, and our country has never lacked talent, passion or support for the game. Yet, our results have too often fallen short of what Nigeria should expect. I have therefore directed a comprehensive reform of Nigerian football following our repeated failures to qualify for major regional, continental and world tournaments. The problems are structural, and our response must address them. The reform will strengthen governance and administration, improve stakeholder representation and accountability, rebuild development pathways and strengthen our domestic competitions. Our exceptional football talent must be supported by institutions capable of turning that talent into sustained Success. Since we reset the sports sector under the re-established National Sports Commission and the RHINSE philosophy, we have seen meaningful progress across other sports. Football, our most popular sport and the greatest beneficiary of public support, investment and national attention, must also make similar progress. I have therefore directed the Chairman of the National Sports Commission to work with the NFF Secretariat and relevant football stakeholders to ensure continuity in essential football administration while facilitating a broad and consultative reform process. This process will include appropriate engagement with FIFA and CAF, while safeguarding Nigeria's obligations within the international football framework. I ask all football stakeholders and Nigerians to support this transition and work together to build a stronger, more accountable and successful football system worthy of our talent, our passion and our country. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Bola Ahmed Tinubu President of the Federal Repubic of Nigeria.

ICC CASE: AB SUNRISE POWER AND TRANSMISSION COMPANY LIMITED (SUNRISE) V. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA (NIGERIA) V. MR. LENO ADESANYA An International Arbitration Tribunal under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris, today, September 17, 2026, issued an award in favour of our country, rejecting the claims in the arbitration instituted by Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Ltd (Sunrise). The company had made a claim against the Federal Republic of Nigeria, demanding $680 million as a settlement sum and interest in respect of another arbitration in which it is claiming over $2.7 billion in compensation and interest relating to disputes associated with the development of the 3960mw Mambila Hydroelectric Power Project, located in Taraba State. This latest decision affirms the Nigerian State's determination not to succumb to predatory and exploitative claims by corrupt local and international entities and their enablers and funders. On behalf of the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I strongly commend the tremendous efforts of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi and the entire team at the Federal Ministry of Justice for their efforts in this matter. I also commend the FRN defence team, led by Ms Elizabeth Oger-Gross and Mr Tolu Obamuroh, both of Paul Hastings LLP, for their professional and excellent defence of the country. I commend the patriotism and support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, and late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who testified in the case, which dated back to an illegal 2003 contract to build a 3,050-megawatt hydroelectric plant in Taraba State under a build-operate-transfer model. The Federal Executive Council never authorised the contract. I thank the other witnesses in this case, including former Ministers Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, and Suleiman Adamu, and the experts, for their active participation in defending Nigeria's interest in the arbitration. I commend the National Security Adviser for his support and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for its investigation into the case. I want to assure you that while our country remains committed to partnering with genuine investors and honouring its legal obligations, it will continue to defend all opportunistic claims instituted against our commonwealth strongly. Today's ICC ruling clears the single biggest legal hurdle that has paralysed the Mambilla hydro power project for years. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. @officialABAT PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, September 17, 2026

- What is Government of Nigeria's engagement rate on X?
- Government of Nigeria (@NigeriaGov) has an engagement rate of 0.008%, based on the median interactions across 13 original posts from the last 30 days against 2,184,998 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.008%, Government of Nigeria sits above the 10th percentile of the 156,148 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @NigeriaGov have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @NigeriaGov post?
- Most posts go out around 11:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 9.63 posts per day across the measured window.
