Naomi Klein engagement report
@NaomiAKlein - 633K followers on X
Measured over 13 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 2, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 1.7K interactions against 633K followers, an engagement rate of 0.261%. Measured over 13 original posts, its engagement rate beats 83% of 6,874 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 99K times each, and 1.67% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 15.6% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.9 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Sunday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 13 posts sampled, 46% carry an image or video, 23% are part of a thread and 38% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 9.7K interactions, about 5.9x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Naomi Klein's engagement rate beats 83% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 65% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.261%, Naomi Klein sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,536 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.1% to 0.5%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 21:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 46% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 38% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 46% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 38% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 288 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

I truly fucked up not doing my due diligence on Platner before offering high praise for his communication skills (on another platform). Enough was out there at the time that I should have been more cautious. Especially because I met adventurer dudes like him while reporting in Iraq. Deep respect to all who got it right. I won't take down the bad post because that looks like hiding. But please know that I'm truly sorry I disappointed folks who trust me to be more careful. Most of all I'm sorry to the women who came forward only to be disbelieved and smeared. You deserved better and I feel absolutely gutted.

So NYT reports that Third Way is spending $15-million to discredit democratic socialism ahead of the presidential elections. “Their fear: Dr. El-Sayed was paving a path for a progressive to seize the party’s presidential nomination in 2028 — and then go on to lose the general election.” Except that is not their real fear. Their real fear is that the left will go on to *win* the general election, and, like Mamdani in NYC, prove that the left can govern. They are willing to throw the general election to Republicans by smearing the left and dividing and demoralizing the Dem base to avoid that outcome. How do we know they are willing gamble in this way? Because that's how Trump won the first time.

Here's @davidrkadler with a terrifying story about how tech oligarchs are trying to create their own start-up city-states, including in Latin America, and how far they are willing to go to protect these private fiefdoms. Honduras is Exhibit A. https://t.co/WAT3InqzQA

“What she did…was to make me think why capitalism is not only efficient and practical, but also moral” - Alan Greenspan, speaking about his guru Ayn Rand in 1974. It's worth understanding the role that this partnership played in unleashing the savageries of the modern market. When Greenspan was still working in the corporate sector, Rand’s ideas about the “utopia of greed” infused him with a powerful sense of mission: apparently, making money wasn’t just good for him - it was good for society as a whole. As for those who got trampled? Rand helped with that too: “Parasites who persistently avoid either purpose or reason perish as they should,” Greenspan wrote. This mindset served him well as Fed Chair, where he supported shock therapy in Russia (72 million impoverished) and in East Asia after the 1997 economic crisis (24 million pushed into unemployment). Not to mention attacks on welfare and trade unions in the U.S.... JD Vance, with his tight concentric circles of "love," is just the latest manifestation of this worldview.

If there is one message I’d like folks to take from my wide-ranging conversation with @davidrkadler from Progressive International it is this: the Trump Administration is not incompetent and buffoonish about everything. When it comes to flipping Latin America to the Mafioso hard right, Trump and Marco Rubio have been chillingly effective, in country after country. Don’t let the sideshows distract you.

- What is Naomi Klein's engagement rate on X?
- Naomi Klein (@NaomiAKlein) has an engagement rate of 0.261%, based on the median interactions across 13 original posts from the last 30 days against 633,481 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.261%, Naomi Klein sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,536 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @NaomiAKlein have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 83% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @NaomiAKlein post?
- Most posts go out around 21:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.9 posts per day across the measured window.
